I came here on Sunday the 15th to celebrate Valentine's Day with my boyfriend and they sat us in this table right by the door and we were sitting behind the people at the bar and this man was standing right next to my face waiting for a seat at the bar it was so annoying having his ass on my face. Hot damn this place is worth the hype! Usually there's a line out the door, but we lucked out on a Friday at 5pm. We ordered chicken/steak fajitas for 2.. for $29?! It was so good. We sat out on the patio which was nice, they brought down the shades half way to block the sun. Unfortunately the experience was bad. Ordered the Pork tenderloin but they were out so they asked if Carne Asada was alright, and i said yes that was fine. I also gave a heads up that i was intending to order a steak fajita quesadilla at the end as a to-go order. When the food arrived, my food was cold, the refried beans were dry and the plantains were the warmest thing on the plate. On the bright side everything tasted good so kudos to the chef. After the meal, i asked for the to-go order of a skirt steak fajita quesadilla. Unfortunately the waiter confirmed that i asked for the quesadilla twice and then after dropping off the checks he apologized and said he thought i asked for the steak fajitas. I said again it was fine, took the fajitas and when i got home there was only 5 pieces of meat and the rest was onions and 2 bell peppers. The waiter was nice and i understand it was quite busy so i was sympathetic but everything compounded and the whole experience was disappointing. The food and service were amazing. Our visit was on Mother's Day and they were still able to carry out an amazing dinner service regardless of the extremely busy evening. We loved everything we tried but I would have to say my favorite was the pupusas. Gloria's Latin cuisine is a bit pricey but I feel like the quality of the food And service justifies their price points equally. During dinner I noticed management going from table to table making sure everyone was satisfied which I love to see. Needless to say they made a customer out of me for life And I can't wait for my next visit. And just a side note that doesn't really have nothing to do with a restaurant itself but more to the location of the restaurant. At my suggestion, my girlfriend kayaking tribe met here for lunch. I won't be suggesting the spot to any others. Terrible experience all the way around. Service was crazy slow. They were busy but it shouldn't take 15 minutes to get water and order a drink and another 15 minutes to get it and order our food. Yeah, we ate all the chips and salsa.. Food served too spread out, 8 of us. First served were about done when the last plate hit the table. No water refills, half of us had empty glasses. Asked a busboy who said I'll tell your waitress, apparently not. I had a shrimp dish that should not have been served. It was so overcooked it was like firm rubber. Texture of a chicken gizzard. Almost spit out the first one and cut (tried to.. lol) a second one in half and it was crazy hard. My girlfriend notice I wasn't eating them and wanted to try it. One bite and she was laughing hard, said I don't exaggerate. Waitress finally returned, as I would have sent it back and asked if everything was good. I answered the shrimp was inedible (my plate was virtually full). She smiled and asked if I wanted a to go box. Ummm, no, I just said it was inedible. Make sure you have a LOT of time and I strongly suggest avoiding a shrimp dish if they're busy. I have frequented this restaurant often in the past and they were able to handle service and acceptable timing of drinks and food. Sadly has declined significantly. We went to this restaurant for my sister birthday during Sunday brunch. I love this location because you have a great view of the water. They also had the football game so my husband could enjoy. If you're from Texas you know about our Tex-Mex and that is not what Gloria's is about, it's completely different while still keeping some known staples (like delicious chips and bean dip). Great cocktails as well, and this place is very busy for happy hour, or weekends. The only issue I have is the temperature. While some won't care about that, fair enough, but in the summer it gets pretty hot in several areas inside the restaurant. I've tried several tables and that's just the way it is. Even on a busy Sunday evening (ahead of Fourth of July weekend), the restaurant and its staff were on top of everything! We were staying at Hilton nearby and walked to Gloria's for dinner and got on the waitlist at 8:15 p.m. They close at 9 p.m. on Sundays, but thank goodness they take tables up until then! The wait was around 30 minutes and they sent a text when the table was ready. They even gave a kid's activity menu for the kiddo. Server (don't remember his name) was great and kept our waters topped off. Chips came out piping hot and the food was great per the Gloria's experience. My nephew ate his entire enchilada plate, which is unusual for him! everyone else also polished off their plate as well. I had leftovers because the Gloria's special combo is always too much food for me, but I love having it the next day. This is a great option if you're in the Rockwall Harbor area! read more

Our first experience at Gloria's was a great success! Service was spot on. We were able to sit on the patio, which was closed in and heated, but we still had a great view. We were there for brunch but got the queso fundido. I've never had it where they wrapped it in tortilla before and now I wonder how to have it any other way now. Sooooo good. We also had the breakfast burrito and breakfast tortilla. Both were excellent and I'd be happy to eat either again. The most surprising part was the refried beans... I am visiting family in Texas. We decided to go to The Harbor and find a restaurant. Gloria's is popular. Texas COVID restrictions are different from DC. This is the first time I have walked into a restaurant without a mask. The restaurant technically closes at 9pm. That just means they don't seat people after that time. We were given a pager and were seated about 10 minutes later. The restaurant was packed. A Mariachi band played. The atmosphere was fun. We had an outgoing server. The menu did not scan to my phone. I just looked it up through Yelp. The chips come with baked beans and salsa. It was wonderful. The menu is varied and has nice choices for vegetarians and meat eaters. The Plantains were good. Sour cream made them even better. The manager did not charge for them since the kitchen forgot about them. The seafood soup was a giant portion. The cheese enchiladas were great. The bean soup was tasty and even yummier after it was reheated. Each dish was enjoyed. We took dessert to go because we didn't have room. I would come back to this restaurant.
