Before I did anything, I gave it a tug and it sputtered and ran for about 3 seconds. I changed the plug, new gas and gave the carb a clean. No luck starting. I brought it over to Carpenters for them to take a look. Someone called me back and told me the saw was shot. Compression too low for any power, parts and labor would be almost what a new saw would cost. Or, I could part it out (somehow). I told them I would come and pick it up and pay for their evaluation, which I did. Weird thing was that when I got home with it I gave it a tug. Started first pull. Not only did it start, but it cut through a 12" diameter birch log like it was butter. Draw your own conclusions.

Dropped off the rim to have the new tire put on and it was back to me within 48 hours. Here is where the 5 star service comes in, the gentleman that helped me check out was incredibly kind and helpful, he answered all my questions about this, that, and the other thing. I got home and quickly put the tire on. It immediately went flat... called to ask what could have happened, they said bring it back in and they would fix it right there. I get the tire off and it was 100% my fault. I put the tire on backwards (like an idiot) and the valve ripped off. Again, this was completely my fault, they did the tire perfectly, I just wasn't paying attention and in a hurry to get the gator back in commission. I brought it in, tail tucked, and explained my mental shortcomings. The same gentleman that checked me out took it back and fixed it for me right there. 10/10 customer service 10/10 staff 10/10 work. If you have any service needs, I cannot recommend the service department at century enough.

The service manager got the spark plug out and the parts dept found the one I needed and service installed it right away. I had never been to Century before and was really pleased with what they were able to do for me right away. Was in for service on my 1998 Husqvarna 55. This saw has hundreds of hours on it and has been cared…read morefor intermittently. I wasn't sure what to expect. Jeff got it running like a champ. Nothing expensive. I asked him about a possible upgrade to a new saw and this will become a backup, but Jeff did not try to upsell me. He answered my questions, made some recommendations, and got my saw running and chains inspected and sharpened in less than a week when I needed them. I took my 55 out to work. I called back a few weeks later on the saw upgrade and optional brush cutter. I explained what I need based on property and tasks and Jeff made quick and accurate recommendations. I'll pick them up on the way to the property this week. The buying process was as professional and friendly as the service process. He also had options in stock (Husqvarna's newer style chain saw box, for one), so it was one-stop shopping. I run a small business and really emphasize supporting others. It's great to have a small, specialty equipment vendor like Minneapolis Saw Co. that has the baseline equipment, knows the equipment, and provides top quality service on site with reasonable turn around times. There are closer shops to me (Eden Prairie), but I'll make the drive to Minneapolis Saw Co.).

I went to Minneapolis Saw to fix and tune up my lawn mower back in March 2026. Unfortunately, I was…read morenot a happy camper because I had to wait full two months to get a new rear wheel replaced because they said they couldn't get the wheel because it was not available anymore. So they ended up using a wheel for a different brand of mower to replace the broken one. My mower was finally fixed after waiting two months. Meanwhile, on July 2026 I returned there again because the two rear wheels on the mower busted and were no good. One of these wheels they recently replaced back in May. This time they first told me the rear wheels couldn't get ordered because they are not available. I requested Minneapolis Saw to get rid of the lawn mower and I would buy a new one. They did not do as I asked. Instead, I find out a few days later that they were able to order the wheels in. I find this out after spending $600 on a new mower. Now, I am paying the full cost of fixing the old mower which ran around $226 after parts and labor. This was a terrible experience for myself because these idiots changed their story. All I get is the runaround. They say one thing and mean another. I would strongly advise customers to go elsewhere for any repairs.

Curt's Small Engine Repair is awesome -- A+…read more I really can't say enough good things about Curt. He did a great job on my equipment, he's prompt, his prices are reasonable, and he's a very nice guy. I gave Curt 3 things to fix. My MOWER (which was an urgent repair) had a blown head gasket. Curt let me know quickly and he didn't B.S. me about the whole thing. It wasn't worth fixing so I just bought a new one at Home Depot. He fixed the carb on my SNOW BLOWER (actually, he installed a new one) and he did other maintenance. So I'm all set. Bring on the snow! Curt did a bunch of maintenance on my GARDEN TILLER, including finding a transmission seal that's no longer made by the manufacturer. (He found it on Ebay.) This one was tricky because it's a vintage heavy duty tiller with a modern Honda motor. Last -- but not least -- he cleaned up everything for me. And when he dropped off my stuff, he did me a favor and brought his air compressor and filled the tires on my three 2-wheel dollies and on my bicycle. I read that review and realized that it wasn't that Curt did a bad job, it was all about his political views and the fact they didn't align with hers. Seriously. What an eye roller! We called Curt on a Saturday, he answered and said he was free immediately for blade sharpening! He's about 5 minutes up the road. He did a fantastic job. We asked about the one review and he chuckled and said "I just don't like fixing 2-stroke engines, you can buy a new one for $200, so there's no way you can make money off fixing a leaf blower." To me that speaks of Curt's character in realizing the value of not only the different machines, but the value of his time, and his customer's time. We were able to finish a project in a day thanks to Curt. He was very nice and did a fantastic job! Totally recommend him.

From Andy in service to Heather in the office Dan in service and "Gordo" in trucking. Ryan has this location running like a well oiled machine! Every time I deal with Ryan and his team I feel like family. Lano love is what they call it. I retired early from where I worked because of lack of leadership and lazy co-workers. I can tell you that's not the case in the Anoka Lano's. They're friendly, professional and know the products they sell. I hope none of the team ever decide to leave. I was also having an issue with the mower blades and he fixed this issue. He has been great making sure the mower is maintained seasonally. Matt has came to my house with his mobile shop and fixed it onsite. You really can beat that when my vehicle isn't able to transport riding mower. He has also fixed my husbands ice auger that wasn't operating well. I was able to drop off the auger at his shop in person. Now it runs like its brand new. I would highly recommend Matt to work on a small engine as he has a ton of knowledge in this field and is very professional.
