Before I did anything, I gave it a tug and it sputtered and ran for about 3 seconds. I changed the plug, new gas and gave the carb a clean. No luck starting. I brought it over to Carpenters for them to take a look. Someone called me back and told me the saw was shot. Compression too low for any power, parts and labor would be almost what a new saw would cost. Or, I could part it out (somehow). I told them I would come and pick it up and pay for their evaluation, which I did. Weird thing was that when I got home with it I gave it a tug. Started first pull. Not only did it start, but it cut through a 12" diameter birch log like it was butter. Draw your own conclusions.

I will never go there again. I took my mower in because the starter cord was catching. I had to…read moreput down a $45 deposit. 10 days later the mechanic called me and said he had no issues starting my mower and wondered if it had tipped and flooded. I said what are you talking about, the starter cord is catching. He then said just move the mower forward and it should start. I asked if he was going to look into why it was sticking, he said no that would cost too much money. When I picked up my mower the cord again stuck and the man told me the same thing about mowing the mower forward. I was charged $40.71 for labor though all he did was check the oil and gas and start the engine. I was also charged $4 for shop supplies, so the total came to $45. Curt's Small Engine Repair is awesome -- A+…read more I really can't say enough good things about Curt. He did a great job on my equipment, he's prompt, his prices are reasonable, and he's a very nice guy. I gave Curt 3 things to fix. My MOWER (which was an urgent repair) had a blown head gasket. Curt let me know quickly and he didn't B.S. me about the whole thing. It wasn't worth fixing so I just bought a new one at Home Depot. He fixed the carb on my SNOW BLOWER (actually, he installed a new one) and he did other maintenance. So I'm all set. Bring on the snow! Curt did a bunch of maintenance on my GARDEN TILLER, including finding a transmission seal that's no longer made by the manufacturer. (He found it on Ebay.) This one was tricky because it's a vintage heavy duty tiller with a modern Honda motor. Last -- but not least -- he cleaned up everything for me. And when he dropped off my stuff, he did me a favor and brought his air compressor and filled the tires on my three 2-wheel dollies and on my bicycle. I read that review and realized that it wasn't that Curt did a bad job, it was all about his political views and the fact they didn't align with hers. Seriously. What an eye roller! We called Curt on a Saturday, he answered and said he was free immediately for blade sharpening! He's about 5 minutes up the road. He did a fantastic job. We asked about the one review and he chuckled and said "I just don't like fixing 2-stroke engines, you can buy a new one for $200, so there's no way you can make money off fixing a leaf blower." To me that speaks of Curt's character in realizing the value of not only the different machines, but the value of his time, and his customer's time. We were able to finish a project in a day thanks to Curt. He was very nice and did a fantastic job! Totally recommend him.

I had SW Power Equipment pick up my riding lawn mower on April 21 for what was supposed to be a…read moresimple drive belt replacement. Before scheduling service, I was told the repair would take 2 weeks from when it was picked up. Instead, I did not get my mower back until May 27 -- more than five weeks later. After the first 10 days, I called for an update and was told they had not even started the repair but would get to it "next week." Sixteen days after pickup, I was then informed they still needed to order the belt, which would take another week. The part did not arrive until May 21. To make matters worse, they scheduled delivery for May 25 and specifically told me they would still deliver that morning despite me reminding them that it was a holiday. I stayed home waiting for them, only to call them around 11:00 a.m. and be told they were not delivering because it was a holiday. I have paperwork showing the delivery was scheduled for May 25, so this was clearly a failure in communication on their end. When the mower was finally returned on May 27, it was covered in bird droppings and leaves from obviously being stored outside. I gave them a clean mower and received it back in unacceptable condition. At no point did anyone apologize in a meaningful way or offer any discount or compensation for the excessive delays, poor communication, wasted time, or condition of my equipment upon return. If you are looking for a company that overpromises, underdelivers, and provides poor customer service, SW Power Equipment fits that description perfectly. They have permanently lost my business, and I will absolutely share my experience with others.

I brought it back and told them I hadn't even taken it out of my car after realizing the problem. Without me even asking, Craig, offered to take it back and have me rented another time without charge. That is so beyond amazing customer service when they had absolutely no reason to do that. I rented it fair and square and it was my problem that led to me not being able to use it. Not only that, but I took it off their shelf preventing someone else from renting it and they still offered to cover it for me.
