Matty's has always been a place we visit every other week, but after today's experience, we will likely not return. Despite the dining room being at least half empty, we waited 45 minutes for our food while multiple tables of similar size who arrived after us were served and finished before we received our meals. With a young child, the extended wait became difficult, and I eventually had to take my youngest to the car after already sitting for an hour. When the food finally arrived, my son's spaghetti was cold, and my meal was boxed to go as i was in the car. Once home, I discovered my steak was burnt, despite ordering it between medium and medium‑well. My husband attempted to speak with a manager, but no one ever came to the table. The French onion soup slaps!!! The ribs were also very flavorful and fall of the bone!! I removed one star because the only non alcoholic beer they had was ginger beer, and the buttered corn had no flavor. The service was great, the ambiance was great and I would come back! Great job! read more

We've dined in here once and gotten take-out once. Both times were happy with the food and service. We've tried wings from a few places in town but so far like Matty's the most. They have a big selection of flavors, among which my favorite is garlic Parmesan. Last time we visit they had a special shrimp. Will be trying that next! read more

I forgot to take pictures- I was hungry! 1st service was great- which I'm always nervous about while traveling. Great family sports bar restaurant vibes. All things ordered: -Patty Melt - as is - Huge! Was said to be good. -Patty Melt with Bacon and a side of garlic aioli - HUGE - Life changing! -Shrimp & Steak with fettuccine Alfredo- looked great- stated it was good but the steak needed seasoning. I dipped it in the aioli sauce and brought it back to goodness. -Plain cheeseburger (not huge) and yummy onion rings -Lemonade- must of been great because he had like 5 glasses- server never waited for him to ask. -Root Beer Float- was given two thumbs up. A sports bar/restaurant close to hotels and Bucknell University. Matty's is really a 3.5 or so but overall I'd say it's a good, seemingly family friendly atmosphere and menu. The wings in Buffalo sauce are mild, with sauce simply dumped on fried but not quite crispy flats and drums. Incidentally you can order all flats or all drums for an additional $3. The wings are ok. The Italian Beef sandwich has good flavor but the bread cannot handle the included au jus. The bottom falls out and apart by bite 3. The beef sliders are a good deal. Basically 3 full sized bubba burger type frozen patty's on 3 small buns. Beers are 12 oz, I think, but could be 10. Waited with buzzy thing for 20 minutes when going in. I've been in a few times now and will keep going back. The food is pretty good and the prices aren't bad. Plus there's tons of seating, so it's an easy pick when I'm in the area. There's also some nice outdoor space if you're looking for that. The staff are always friendly. I typically get the honey garlic wrap. I don't love their fries, but the onion rings are good. This time my friend got the pulled pork tacos. It was impossible to eat as a taco (I mean, look at that picture). Seems like maybe it would be better as a mac and cheese bowl. read more

I had to drive to Muncy, PA for work and by suggestion of a coworker I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Lewisburg. My first night I didn't know where I wanted to go to eat since there wasn't a lot of options nearby. I found this place on yelp while trying to find something that offered a vegan or vegetarian option. I found their website, spotted a black bean burger, and headed there for dinner. Upon arriving it's like any other bar/restaurant chain. It could have passed for a TGI Fridays, Chilis, Applebee's or any other of that caliber. My expectations were about exactly where they needed to be. I sat at that bar and ordered a drink the burger (no cheese), a side salad, and a plain baked potato. The bartender/server was very polite. The locals were keeping It lively on this Tuesday night. The Philadelphia Phillies were playing on the TV, so I settled in to watch. My food came out very quickly. Everything was fine, just as I assumed it would be. Nothing blowing my socks off and nothing terrible. Average with a smile. I stayed for one more drink before making my short journey back to the hotel. Overall, very adequate place to stop for a meal if in the area. read more

It's a solid 3...... With that this place is to be Damon's sports bar known for their big TVS, big booths domestic style drinks and pretty much bar food. Now when this place switch to Mattys it was the hottest, top tier restaurant in the area. Great drinks rotating beers new food and ideas being scattered all over and it was a huge hit for bucknell and the local hotels. Bartenders waitress everyone was nice and friendly and for the most part they still are. But as with everything over time it has fallen. With the beer selection still staying strong and good bartenders to make you all the cocktails you can enjoy the menu and food has slipped. The quality is lesser and the things I use to love like the ghost pepper burger have been axed off the menu reminding me of a classier Damon's. Food is meh if you need a place to eat and can't find anything else go here before Applebees and such. This place won't blow you out of the water you'll be in the meh it was good mindset. read more

I had the Reuben, which was out of this world that was so much corned beef that it kept falling out of the buns I give that a 10 star I know it's only five but it's 10. The only said thing was when I was going to my car. The driveway was so uneven. I fell and really banged up my knees and it was a cop there who helped me get up other than that. Everything was fantastic if you're looking to go out you have to check out Mattys great food great staff you don't have to worry about going home hungry my head goes off to Matty and his wife. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised tonight when I walked in as a one person visitor to Matty's Sporthouse Grill. I was seated quickly and by a friendly, hostess and equally as quick and friendly with my server. I ordered a Pellegrino, chicken Alfredo, and Caesar salad. I literally got my drink and salad within less than three minutes and it was fresh and crisp with delicious cherry tomatoes. My chicken Alfredo was the special of the evening and it was delicious. The broccoli was perfectly cooked, pasta was not too firm and not too soft just right in the sauce was delicious exactly as I would come to expect for an Alfredo. FYI garlic bread is to die for I love, soft, hot bread. It was the perfect serving. The waitress came back several times to check in as well. The atmosphere there is fantastic for sports lovers. Do you want to catch any game? chances are it's going to be on one of their dozen large Screens or on all of the screens in the wraparound bar area the place was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 8 PM- and it was immaculately clean- I'd recommend stopping over here if you're in the Lewisburg Pennsylvania area! read more

Dined here 3 times while staying up in Lewisburg. Great location as it was across the parking lot from our hotel. Has a great Christy Matthewson theme for baseball fans and Bucknell and Penn State décor. Very clean and tables were sat every other in accordance with the CDC Guidelines. huge TV's all over so that you do not miss any action. It's a sports bar and has Sports bar fare from burgers to wings to ribs. I went with the Sportshouse sampler and it was loaded and well with the price as I was able to sample all my favorite appetizers. The 2nd visit I had a hamburger and the 3rd chicken fingers. All good and kept me satisfied. Service was great and would definitely visit again if I was in the area. read more

We live close by so we go to Matty's fairly often. Can I just say the one hostess who is there a lot with the short brown hair is just the sweetest. You can tell she goes out of her way to accommodate people and is just so pleasant. We've always had nice servers and I can't remember one meal we weren't happy with. Overall, lots of flavor, however, there were some bite with lots of salt. My friend had the salmon BLT. He said it was ok and gave this sandwich a 3.5 stars. Went to Matty's for lunch on a Saturday with my son. Maybe it's because I don't expect much from most sports bars these day, but I was happy with our experience and would go back. I find that sports either have decent food or good tv access, but rarely both. Matty's fit both well for for us. I was not expecting much, but this place was awesome. Perfect night to sit outside on the patio, good music playing. Promptly seated. Server was great with my kids. Started off with the cheese curds, which were terrific. The sangria was very sweet, and could have been stronger. My ribs were great, the wife liked her black bean burger. Great food and service! We stopped here for dinner on our drive from Baltimore, MD to Ithaca, NY. We were excited to see they were open for dine in service. I think they just opened back up this week for dine in service. We split the French onion soup-it was delicious! Then we each had a burger and house chips and it was really good. Order came in a sealed package that could not be opened except after delivered as you had to rip it open. I ordered a chicken Parmesan pasta dish. The chicken was a good sized chicken breast with great flavor. The pasta sauce would be better with more added such as onion, garlic, olive oil etc. Caesar salad was good with a large dressing on the side. The spinach artichoke dip was in a crispy bread bowl with cheese cooked on top of the bread. Very good. read more
