I was very disappointed. The Iron Fork used to have a nice dinner menu and now it is nothing but handhelds, appetizers, salads, and pizza with one entre special. We had the steak dinner which was overpriced for what a side salad, small steak, mashed potatoes, and mixed vegetables. There were no dinner rolls and when the waitress asked us if we wanted something else after dinner there were no desserts just coffee. The building it self is nice but we should have gone to the Pine Barn Inn. read more

This is gonna be a tough review. Second time here, first time was over the winter and had their apple cider sangria and appetizers. It was GREAT! Dinner on the other hand was NOT anything to rave about. Our drinks were great! Lol Appetizer was the flat bread, kitchen burned it twice, so by the time it came out so did our main dish. Also ordered the sea food gumbo (not bad) but food flavorful food should not require hot sauce. First main dish was the chicken Orleans: fried chicken with eh sauce and clearly not fresh veggies for $22 Second main dish was Seafood duo: scallops dish was over done, good attempt at au gratin sauce but scallops way over cooked. Clam strips and frys. Oh and the tarter sauce tasted like onions. Come for the atmosphere and the drinks, not a fan of over priced flavorless food. Kitchen needs much needed help!!! read more

They have the best steamed broccoli I have ever had with a great Atlantic salmon and beautifully prepared meals. The place is nice and modern with great lighting and a bar. The servers are great and attentive with a grand personality. Although the restaurant is placed next to the largest golf course in the area, it is totally worth the troubles. Wonderful atmosphere dining on the patio. Our server was the best and didn't mind that we stayed to talk until after dark.

Had dinner here and the food was good. However, my plate was dirty. The server was not attentive. She never asked us if we needed refills. One in our party ordered a steak and she was not asked how she wanted it prepared. A baked potato came out without butter and we were not asked if we wanted anything for it. To top it off we were charged $5 for a Shirley Temple because they considered it a virgin drink. It's soda with syrup! We were also up charged for substituting brussel sprouts for asparagus. The general manager does not understand customer service. Was arrogant and rude regarding a charge on the bill. He was aggressive and argumentative. The food WAY overpriced for the quality. After 15 minutes, the host finally seated us at a table behind the bar. We ordered a number of items to share. The appetizers I tried were: 1) Queso (Blend of ground beef and chorizo sausage with melted cheese layered on top finished with sour cream and served with salsa, guacamole and house chips; $9) 2) Hot Pepper Fried Calamari (Tossed in house garlic butter and banana peppers; $8) The Queso was actually pretty good. I recommend ordering this if you are indecisive of what appetizer to get. The batter on the Hot Pepper Fried Calamari was very thick, almost like onion rings which I did not like. I personally love Calamari that has airy, light and crisp batter and doesn't taste rubbery. For my main, I had the Impossible Burger (Plant-based Impossible Burger w/cheddar and leek mayo; $13). I've had the Impossible Burger before and it's one of my favorite burgers, but I thought the one I had here was unappetizing. The Impossible patty tasted a little dry (I didn't even know this was possible!) and the bun tasted like those cheaper, all white bread "Great Value Hamburger Buns" unfortunately. The leek mayo was actually nice at least, and a unique touch. Overall, great ambiance and cute, rustic space, but food is subpar. Would not recommend dining here if you are looking for a delicious dinner. read more

Ordered salmon w/rice off the menu. Waitress came back said they are between chefs and have no salmon. No rice no potatoes other than fries, no rolls (she said "we don't do bread) So I ordered the beer battered cod which was on the menu as fish and chips. It was dry and overcooked. No refill of water glass. The wait staff were nice and polite (I realize they have no control over the food). All in all an expensive bad experience. What a horrible experience we had last evening. Out of 4 visits, I've had one good meal. They don't take reservations(?!?) so they didn't have the staff to accommodate and ran out of the advertised special by 5:30 pm. The manager was dressed in a Phillies sweatshirt and was heard apologizing to the tables around us for the poor service. Also, after sending my medium rare steak back for being undercooked, I still had to take it home and cook it myself. This was all after waiting one and a half hours for our food. read more

I've been coming here on and off for trivia nights in the past year. The food isn't bad, but first observation was that the prices are completely unjustified. So I resolved to doing it once a month so I could at least hang with friends on a regular basis. After 2 months of not going, I see that the prices of all my go-to menu items went up another 30 percent. The nachos that I got (Yes I was still dumb enough to get them after that huge price increase) were substantially less than what they were before the price increase, and all the toppings completely dried out and burned under the heat lamp. Trivia isn't the best setting to raise an issue with your server and embarrass yourself in front of everyone. It wouldn't matter, they never returned until 20 minutes after trivia was over. What a classy addition to Danville. While I don't know about the golf course specifics, the clubhouse is worth a visit. We went for lunch. I ordered the Gumbo and Mexican shrimp cocktail. Both had a little spice and I ate every bite. My guest ordered fish tacos. They were very tasty as well. Great idea for a special occasion or date night. Reservations are recommended for dinner. If I lived in the area, it would be my favorite place because of the unique food options. read more

First time here. Decor and location is wonderful. The food itself was good. I wouldn't say it is something extraordinary but I didn't exactly order something that a chef can show off his culinary skills to much with. I had the Impossible Burger with fries. I asked for it on one of their other burger options. My "burger" came with lettuce, onion, tomato, American cheese, and leek mayo. Fries were cooked well, the mayo was a great touch, the bun for my burger was about as average as they come, the tomato slice was so thick it rendered it useless. Everything else was fine. So overall the meal was fine... That is the point of it. It was fine. I feel as though this place had the potential to be much better than "good" or "fine". With some small changes the food could have been much better. On a side note the waiting staff was almost non existent which would be fine but it wasn't very busy from what I could see in the restaurant. I feel this could be a 5 star place. I'd do 3 and a half stars if possible but I really don't think this place warrants a 4 star rating in it's current state of food and service. I will try it again. We were there for Mother's Day and there were 12 of us, our reservation was for 3:00 and we were not sat till 3:20 and apparently the restaurant closed at 5:00 which we were not told. The waiter came and took our drink orders and brought them back and then only came a few times to see how we were doing. Not one time did he offer to get new drinks nor did he take ANY plates off the table. By the time we were done eating the table looked ridiculous with all the plates piled all over. My son asked him if he could remove some and he said oh sure but then got distracted and never took any. Then my son went to the manager and said he didn't think he deserved the included tip that was added to the bill because he did nothing. Her response was she couldn't take off the tip but she'd remove a buffet from each bill. 3 buffets were removed from ONE of the bills and the waiter was so very confused at this point and had no idea what was going on. I doubt we will ever return. I am a server myself and if I would leave that many plates at a table I would be so embarrassed and if my manager would go to the table and see that she would have taken them off the table but nothing at all like that happened. I do not think a tip should be added ahead of time because certain servers just see the money and don't care to properly take care of the customers. read more

This was our first visit and I was not disappointed ! My husband and I were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The hostess sat us outside which was fantastic. The weather was perfect and the view was beautiful . There are fire pits around to control the temperature. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant . I ordered the flat iron steak which was absolutely delicious . It came with Mac and cheese which was soooo good . Sometimes I'm iffy about ordering "fancy" Mac and cheese because it ends up being dry and disappointing but this was not the case . It was creamy and had a great flavor . Not sure what changes were made in the past year but the food looks and tastes So much better than it has in the past. Keep up the good work! God knows it's hard these day's to find reliable worker's so whoever you have cooking and taking all the crap the world gives hold on to them I wouldn't change a thing except maybe some more advertising. As far as everyone complaining about the price increase it's happening Everywhere so just stop and enjoy. New place in Danville located at the former country club. This was our first first time and we went with a group of friends and had a great time. The space had been completely redone and the ambiance was fantastic..... a sort of modern chic. The staff was friendly with great customer service....however, it took quite a while to get our meals. This can be expected with a new kitchen staff but it definitely needs to be worked on. ( We were a group of 8) The appetizers we got where tasty and came out quickly. We got the calamari and a buffalo dip. They have a decent selection of microbrews on tap and in bottles along with the majors. Great selection of Martini flavors that they made well. But again, the issue came with keeping the glasses full. Not on the part of the wait staff, but after the order was taken it just took quite a while for the order to be filled. I figure our waitress lost at least an additional round of drinks if not more on the bill. As for the meals...I got the steak salad bowl and it was great, burgers were good, and the steaks a little under cooked for medium rare. (I asked) In the end this place has a great look and friendly staff, but needs to work on efficiency and refinement (you don't present yourself with tablecloths and then plop a katsup bottle in the middle of the table) The place has loads of potential....and we will definitely return to see if improvements are made. read more

Has potential you could tell this place was recently opened the staff seemed a little unsure and it of sync which transpired to slightly slow service but I would expect this would improve quickly. We ordered the hot pepper calamari to start and were disappointed that it wasn't spicy and was overly oily. We also got a burger which was excellent, cooked as ordered and seasoned well. The fries that accompanied the burger were great. The portions were a good size and the price was very reasonable. We had an enjoyable meal with a pleasant view, we'll be back to try some of the other items on the menu and see if the service improves. If you want to go somewhere you can catch up with old friends, go to The Iron Fork. You will be able to catch up on every minute of their lives since you last saw them in great detail. No worry of anyone talking with their mouths full either, because the food takes about an hour and a half to get to the table. On the plus side, it's not the worst food in the world. Great restaurant on a local Danville golf course. The view is awesome from the outside patio and the atmosphere is fun and inviting. New renovations done a few years ago make the restaurant and bar area modern and fun with stone and rustic/quirky accents. The food is good, the beer selection is decent. The fish tacos and sandwich are a good selection, as well as burgers and steaks. We haven't had much we don't like. Our favorites are: the Rachel sandwich, fish tacos, Brentwood salad, any of the burgers. read more
