My review is for Matty's as a TAILOR! I've had about 9-12 pieces of clothing hemmed or altered here in the last 3-months and I've been extremely pleased with the work and the price. You're not going to get pants (jeans & dress slacks) professionally done anywhere for only $6.00! Yes, I did say $6.00!!! The workmanship and service here are exceptional. I drive out of my way to bring my clothes here and I've even had on the spot repairs done for as little as $2.00! I had thee worse experience here! I brought my clothes here every once in awhile to have dry cleaned. Well on the last occasion I brought in a couple of pairs of Lucky Brand jeans, one dark (being my fave that was missing a button) & one light (good condition but never wore them). So I wanted him to take the button off the light ones and put them on the dark ones and replace the light ones w/a generic button. I was very specific in my request and he said ok. I came back a week later to pick up my jeans and saw they had both been replaced by generic buttons. I was dumbfounded for a moment and asked him why he didn't transfer the good Lucky button to the other pants like I specifically asked. He then told me that was not possible. I asked him then why didn't he tell me from the beginning and why did he continue to remove the good button from my light jeans? He then berated me in front of customers and told me that everybody else in the world knows once u take a button of jeans it's no longer good. Again, I persisted w/ why would you take them off my good pair of jeans then if u couldn't fulfill my request? And why didn't you tell me this in the beginning? He screamed and cursed at me in front of the customers. I was shocked and appalled by the disgusting unprofessional behavior. I would've been a lot more understanding if his demeanor was calmer and he admitted to screwing up. His poor wife apologized and said this was all a huge misunderstanding. I recently visit the shop for my pants to get repair, but instead,it got ruined, how did you take off the zipper from the inseam then put it on the other side of the pants? Thats crazy,wel hopefully Memo can get it done and fix it good or else I payed 32$ for nothing. read more

This has to be the most inept, irresponsible establishment I have ever used. I dropped off my uniform off on Wednesday and was told to return Friday at anytime to pick it up. When I went to pick it up, the lady behind the counter could not locate it among the newly cleaned closes. After a couple minutes of looking, I located my uniform balled up in a basket on the floor. She said, she forgot about it. I got my belongings and left. I will never go here again, and I recommend that no one else go here either. Find somewhere else for your items. I love this place! It is run by an adorable older Vietnamese couple. I took my pants in for hemming and it was only $6! On top of that, he had it ready and perfect for me within 3 hours. Well, I got my clothes back when they said they'd be ready and everything looks pretty good. The shirts fit better and my pants aren't as tight. The stitches and alterations all seem clean. I'll probably be taking more clothes there to get a better idea of their work. I went a bit conservative with what I wanted altered. Oh, one thing I forgot to mention in the original review.. they only accept cash or check. I believe there is an ATM about a block or so away. I will keep my rating at "average" but they certainly show promise. read more

First time coming here. Dropped off a blazer on wed and I needed it on Saturday. Man seemed like it was not enough time but took in jacket and gave receipt, told me to come back on Saturday before 3pm. Came back Saturday morning, blazer was ready, looked great and I paid less than $5. My tip: If you need something done ASAP, you'll probably have a hard time getting it done here, it is a small place and ran by older man and lady and seem to have lots of work. But if you come in a few days in advance you should be fine. read more

I've heard great reviews abt this place and since I stay in this area, I thought I'll give it a try. Being a small sized Asian male isn't great when it comes to buying clothes here. So everytime I buy clothes, I'll swing over to drop it off there. I do adore the lovely Vietnamese couple and they're skillful hands. When I need things to be rushed, it would be done. But recently I would a sports jacket and needed the length to be shortened, They quoted me $30 dollars! Well, it might not b a lot for u guys, but being a struggling student, I have to pinch and scrape where ever I can. The reason why I'm giving 2 stars is because of their workmanship, its decent but not worth the kinda money u pay, and their prices. Although I go there to get my jeans shirts shortened, they don't try to retain their customers by giving discounts. P.S: Although shortening the sports jacket might b $30, altering the waist area of a shirt is also $30..rather pricey.. read more

As dimensions shift, i bring my can't-do-without items to Matty & she retrofits 'em to me!!@ She's even duplicated items by making pattern from worn-out one. I went here to get my Dress Whites pressed and dry cleaned. They agreed to have them done by a certain day, but when I went in to get them, they hadn't been cleaned OR pressed! They said to bring my Whites back after my inspection, and they'd press and dry clean them for free, but she refused and said because they didn't charge me last time, they would charge me this time. Ridiculous. They also did a crappy job sewing on my 2nd class petty officer's patch. There was some blue from the other chevron showing out the bottom. Which they charged me for. If you cause your customer inconvenience the way they did for me on my inspection, you should offer them something to make up for it. They shouldn't have charged me for the patch sewing. I'd stay away if I were you. Oh and they only accept cash or checks. No cards. read more

I am very picky with mostly everything. That is why I go to this shop. The tailor is the owner and she listens to what and how you want to fix or make your clothes. Very nice couple. I bring all my clothes here for hemming or fixing and have for the past ten years... They do EXCEPTIONAL work here, and the prices are fantastic.
