I brought in a jumpsuit that was too long. Just needed to be cut down a bit from the bottom. The top part did not have to be touched at all! When I got it back, it did not fit the same. I don't know if it was a mistake or they just decided to take creative liberties but they messed with the neckline and cut open part of the side. They charged me $80 to shorten 2 pairs of curtains a couple of inches. (Very thin cheap curtains). I'm a regular here and I forgot to ask for an estimate when I dropped them off. The curtains are not even worth $80, I could've done the job myself in 30 min. But it's my fault, I just assumed it would be cheaper. I have been patronizing Lido since moving into the Bay Park neighborhood in summer of 2000. Over the course of these many years, Thu has altered or repaired just about anything you can imagine with a sewn seam, from pants to ski clothes to shirts and jackets, my wife's wedding dress, even lightweight luggage and a backpack. When she partnered with a dry cleaning plant and offered laundry service, Lido became our go-to for that as well. Her pricing, timeliness and quality of work are all highest level and you could not ever hope to find a better provider of tailoring and dry cleaning services. On top of that, she's open 6 days a week and has fairly long hours on Saturdays, so it's totally convenient and there's always parking in the back of the shopping center where the store is located. read more

As someone who is 5 feet tall, I need a lot of things hemmed, and I have a few project pieces I need help sewing as well. No matter what the material is, it has been always done with the right color stitching, and correctly. They are consistently kind, prompt, and professional. This is my go to tailor shop! After lifting for many years, my legs have grown significantly. It is very difficult to find pants that fit. I usually buy 2 sizes up and have them tailored. I have had 5 pairs of pants tailored here and I have never had an issue. I even had uniform items tailored here and everything turned out great. I had an evening dress and a pair of slacks altered here recently. The shop was very clean inside and there was plenty of room inside each of the changing areas. The lady I worked with was very nice and detail oriented. The evening dress I brought in required some rather complicated alterations (in my opinion), and I was nervous that it wouldn't turn out right. When I picked up both items a few days later, I was very pleasantly surprised. The stitching on both items was immaculate! Both items fit perfectly and I couldn't even tell the tailor shop stitching from the original stitching on the dress. The prices were also very reasonable ($8 for the pants and $25 for the dress - which was complex as I said earlier). I will definitely be using this tailor shop for all of my future alterations. Note, that the shop can be hard to find initially, because it is tucked inside the Keil's shopping center (to the left of Keil's, behind the mexican restaurant) and isn't really visible from the parking lot. Just park to the left of Keil's and walk past the restaurant to find it. read more

What a great local, family owned and operated spot! Lido has been around for years and have a reputation of being one of the best and affordable tailor shops in San Diego. The owner is always there and personally measures and does your tailoring. I normally can get my stuff back in a couple days but many times I've dropped off an "emergency" job with same or one day service. Keep up the great work! read more

Nice little shop... they can turn things around rather quickly if you push or ask them on it.. and not that expensive either.. to fix a sleeve it was $8.00 as the lining had come un done on the inside.. FYI: BRING CASH - THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS AT ALL!!! read more

Though the past 12 years I have brought my satin evening gowns to be altered by this lovely lady, I have brought expensive dress suits, numerous pants for alterations all completed beautifully and on time. Every tried half a dozen tailors in the Bay Park/Clairemont area and Lido's is by far the best. Dry cleaners that offer alterations generally do a less than stellar job and I am particular about my stitching. Lido is fast, reasonably priced and very, very good. I've had extremely complicated items tailored and the with the quality of the work there's simply no way to tell that any alternations have been made. Cash or check only and the dry cleaning is not the best quality - I would leave them to what they do best. read more
