The ice cream was not displayed in the front of the store as one would imagine and there was nothing inspiring about the menu. I had seen on their Facebook page that they had shakes, but nothing in the store showcased their specialties. The whipped cream was from a can and excess storage of it was in the front as were other supplies. The shop was eerily quiet with no ambiance or noise. It was also odd that an ice cream shop had so many breakfast options and other odd selections that didn't seem to fit the shop. I wanted to love it, but I was left disappointed and hopeful for more.

So we ordered two different kind of hotdogs, the Bernie, which was Kraut and thousand Island dressing which was cooked perfectly. The only thing I would've liked is to have the Kraut a little bit more tangy than what it was, but it was very nicely presented, and the other hot dog was a chili dog with cheese, which was super loaded with toppings and was like a full meal and a half in itself. The meal was finished off with an orange pineapple upside down cake sundae, which was a pound cake topped with orange, soft serve and pineapple topping, which probably weighed in at around 3 or 4 pounds, and it was definitely an item that was to be shared because there was no way one person could physically sit down and eat that without a brain freeze. Incredibly nice, loads of fun. Everybody was friendly and the customers that were in line at nine were still served after nine when they had shut down. This is a must stop for anybody looking for a great old-fashioned ice cream stand with phenomenal prices and a large selection of sandwich's, subs, and side items. You can't go wrong.

The menu is extensive and you're sure to find something to enjoy from the many flavors, treats, sundaes, etc. My issue with this shop is the incredibly slow service. There are usually no more than three people working in the shop at one time, but it seems to take the staff nearly 5-10 minutes per order. It's one thing if they're filling large orders, which does happen, but some folks just order soft serve or hand dipped ice cream and its still takes a ridiculously long amount of time to receive an order. I'm not sure why that is. The inside of the ice cream shop is currently closed to the public, so all orders are taken at the outdoor windows. There is very little cover from the sun, just a couple of umbrellas on two of the picnic tables, so customers have to stand in line with the sun baking their skin (wear sunscreen, folks!) while the line crawls at a snail's pace. It's really unfortunate because the ice cream is great. Just be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes if you visit in the spring/summer/fall.

I had the oat milk based strawberry ice cream and the mint chocolate chip oat milk ice cream. I was blown away at how much it tasted great and hard to tell the difference with the regular milk based versions. While they have a walk-up window, you can also order from a window inside the adjoining Sardi's Mexican restaurant where you can eat a meal and then order the ice cream of your choice.
