We got there at about 12 minutes to closing, but the service was if we had already been there for an hour or two, and they weren't closing within the next several minutes. So we ordered two different kind of hotdogs, the Bernie, which was Kraut and thousand Island dressing which was cooked perfectly. The only thing I would've liked is to have the Kraut a little bit more tangy than what it was, but it was very nicely presented, and the other hot dog was a chili dog with cheese, which was super loaded with toppings and was like a full meal and a half in itself. The meal was finished off with an orange pineapple upside down cake sundae, which was a pound cake topped with orange, soft serve and pineapple topping, which probably weighed in at around 3 or 4 pounds, and it was definitely an item that was to be shared because there was no way one person could physically sit down and eat that without a brain freeze. Incredibly nice, loads of fun. Everybody was friendly and the customers that were in line at nine were still served after nine when they had shut down. This is a must stop for anybody looking for a great old-fashioned ice cream stand with phenomenal prices and a large selection of sandwich's, subs, and side items. You can't go wrong. read more

This place seems to be a real hit or miss depending on who is working. My daughter ordered a milk shake. After we had left we noticed it wasn't blended really at all. There was milk along the top and a large ball of ice cream in the middle of the shake. So it was basically a cup of ice cream with milk on it. Not good at all. I asked if the strawberry sundae was made with real strawberries (it is strawberry season). I was told yes, but then the girl said, "real strawberry gel." I'm not sure the gel is a "real" sundae. I just got a snow cone after that. But the girl was very confused because I ordered two flavors for it. She kept asking if I wanted the flavors mixed or kept separate. Finally I said I didn't care. It seriously shouldn't be that hard. Because guess what.....those flavors will mix below the very top anyway. So if you want a standard ice cream cone this place isn't bad. What a marvelous experience -- I agree with other reviewers that the young people staffing it were polite and efficient, and I also agree that the treat was insanely inexpensive. Cute little area with picnic tables. The Adirondack chairs out front are very comfortable. The ice cream was SO good. I mean, exceptionally good, premium good. I had the "peanut butter overload" which was a perfectly balanced jumble of peanut butter and chocolate flavors for the peanut butter lover. A rich, smooth ice cream base, too. Sadly, I wasn't carrying any cash and I couldn't leave a tip after they charged my card. I felt (feel) so bad about it that I resolved I'd come home to write a glowing review immediately! I love coming here every time I pass by, they have some of the best Sundaes around in big sizes for low prices. This time I kept it simple and got one of there Carmel Sundaes for only 3 dollars. Along with that they have fresh banana splits topped with wet walnuts and peanuts. Then to top it all off they a two scoop peach cone, and there Waffle comes for what every reason taste the best. I highly encourage you if you every pass by make sure you turn into Sweeties right off the road side. Such a great find and so cheap! The mega monster ( I think that's what it's called) is sooo good and you get so much ice cream and toppings. All of the workers were wearing masks correctly which is great. However, 90% of the patrons were not wearing them and did not seem to understand the concept of personal space during a pandemic. Such a cute roadside treat! My husband and I stopped here on the way home from visiting family in PA. I got the Lucy hot dog (hot dog with mac and cheese on top) and he got a hot dog as well- can't remember the kind. The hot dogs were amazing! Very large and juicy- not like cheapy store-bought kind. We also got an apple pie sundae for dessert. It hit the spot! Not that many tables outside, but it also has a drive-thru! I'm sure we will be back. read more

Always good but a sorta girl red headed girl was working the other day. The girl was very slow and was extremly inconsistent (we ordered two small ice cream cones with rainbow sprinkles and one was huge and the other was extremly small)! I'm not ver happy with the past experiences I've had with sweetsies, about a week ago I go to sweetsies and ask for a medium BLACK raspberry flavor burst in a cup and out comes a medium raspberry flavor burst and "I say excuse me this is a raspberry not a black raspberry" and the younger worker replies with "oh yes that's black raspberry" but it was not it was pink and I get this all the time and it's supposed to be purple but I let it slide. Now today I go and order the same thing and put comes another RASPBERRY flavor burst and I am furious, if you don't know the difference between black raspberry and black raspberry maybe you shouldn't be working there! read more
