We called in the morning to see if we could rent mopeds and had them within an hour and a half (an hour if we didn't have to eat breakfast). The delivery made things even more convenient since we didn't have to go and pick them up. We met Keoki at the front of our hotel and he was so wonderful. We've never ridden mopeds before, but he pointed us to the videos and gave us some pointers and we were set! He also went out of his way to give us recommendations for where to snorkel and tell us about cool places to go on the island, including places to eat and stop along the way. We really could not have asked for a better experience. We had initially only rented the mopeds for a day but had so much fun that we extended until the end of our trip. To return them, all we had to do was call them and arrange for the pickup. It was so easy. Renting mopeds our trip so memorable and allowed us to explore so much more of the island. And the drop-off/pick-up service made the process SO EASY and so seamless. If you're considering it, just do it. You won't regret it!

I rarely write reviews, but our trip to New Zealand was so incredibly good that I had to…read moreacknowledge how impactful South Pacific Motorcycle Tours were on our amazing experience there. The folks at South Pacific are just wonderful. Mike, Carole, and Kim are family and treat you like family, too. Mike even gave me his neck scarf and his cell-phone holder, knowing they would be very valuable for the route we had planned. We rented their two Triumph Bonnevilles, Bonnie and Clyde, which took us all around the South Island --- all the way to Milford Sound. The bikes were brand new, sparkling clean with new tires, and outfitted with heated hand grips - which were essential for the colder climates we encountered high in the mountains and deep in Milford Sound. The bikes also had paneers and a top box installed, allowing plenty of storage for all our moto gear as well as food and wine for our journey (we cooked most of our meals). The performed flawlessly, through heavy rain and bright sunshine alike - and I had no worries at all in terms of our cycles. The price to rent them was spot-on, too, and you can customize your adventure as you see fit. They can ride with you and serve as your personal guide, or you can simply rent the bikes and go your own way, which is what we chose to do. We rented the bikes a year in advance and Kim was with us every step of the way. She even shared some of her favorite routes to help us with our planning. When we arrived on the South Island, she picked us up at our AirBnB and brought us to their home - which is where they keep the motorcycles. Like I said, it's a family business - and they treat you like family. Kim also brought us to our hotel when we returned the bikes.... late afternoon on Christmas Eve! I was so impressed with how kind, friendly, and accommodating they were. In summary: I can tell you with much certainty that you will be in extremely good hands if you rent your bikes from South Pacific. Their 20 years of experience shine through their extensive network of motorcycle enthusiasts who will help you on your way, should you need any assistance anywhere in New Zealand. I feel bad I forgot his name. We checked in and out within 5 minutes and we were in our car and on our way. Returning was also a breeze. We dropped off the keys and received an email confirmation that all was good. I would definitely rent offsite from the airport because you save a lot from the airport taxes. We probably saved about $40/day in taxes.

Just wanted to give some information that I would have appreciated ahead of time: This was one of…read morethe easiest rentals I've had. We only needed the car for a day and booked ahead of time (highly recommend). They are open from 8-noon. We booked it for 8am and only had one group ahead of us. The desk is right next to the hotel reception/activities desk. The guy gave us the usual rental information then gave us our keys and told us where to find the car. The rental cars are on the top floor of the parking structure across from reception desk. Enterprise parking spots are clearly marked and numbered to find your car. To leave the lot you use your Marriott hotel key (blue band) at the gate. **This is not listed anywhere I could see, but you CAN return the car same day after hours.** It was very easy. When you return to the parking structure you take a ticket and leave it on your dash so they can see when you returned the car. Then park the car in one of the Enterprise spots. Then bring the keys to the Hotel reception employees. The next day I received a text and email when they processed the car. Easy as that! (This was early June 2024. Lines might be longer in the busier seasons. There is only one computer/employee.)
