I can't say enough positive things about BEXT Jeep Rental. We originally planned for a normal rental car from the airport for our trip to Maui, but last-minute decided to look into Jeep options. Being only a week before our trip, options were obviously limited. Looking at the BEXT site, I saw a few available Jeeps that weren't exactly what I wanted, so I submitted an inquiry on the site. Seeing that it was mid-afternoon Hawaii time and late evening my time, Gaston from BEXT reached out via text. I sent him my requirements and he had creative options in front of me immediately. They had the perfect one-touch convertible Jeep available for every day except our arrival day. He offered to have a standard Jeep at the airport for us and then come all of the way to Kaanapali and swap for the convertible Jeep the next day. This was way above-and-beyond and we had an agreement immediately. The pickup experience was fantastic. Clear and timely communication via text with images and videos of where to pickup the Jeep and how to get the key. The vehicles were both spotless and amazing Jeeps. The one-touch convertible is the perfect fit for a Road to Hana trip. Very easy and quick to push a button and have the top back on when a random rain storm pops up. The kids thought the Jeep was one of the best part of the trip as we explored all Maui has to offer. In all my years of travel I have never rented vehicle or interacted with an owner of a company who is so dedicated to the customer experience. From start to finish the differences were very obvious. Being sceptical at first using a lesser know rental company turned out to be the best vacation experience on Maui or anywhere else I have traveled. The BEXT experience allows you to rent a jeep and have access to vacation your way. We were met straight away at the airport (even with a flight delay). We were walked through the operations of the jeep (four wheel drive, removing the roof, gps, basic vehicle functions, etc...) electronically signed the rental agreement and we were off. Returning the jeep we were met at our terminal and we assisted with our bags and it was that easy.. No lines, no shuttles and best of all no waiting. From the 1st moment they were helpful and they said over the phone they would be here in 15 minutes and they have the best jeep on Maui, okay. The guy came give us a key and explain few things, after 8 days spend on Maui I passed thru soo many jeeps on road and haven't seen a better looking and with full equipment that it's necessary for those roads! We rented from BEXT while in Maui for our honeymoon. Best choice ever. Our beautiful royal blue Jeep, that we lovingly named Ruby was an amazing partner for our adventures. We drive a Jeep at home and this thing spoiled us and left us wanting an upgrade when we got home. We will never rent from anyone but BEXT. I would say you can skip the cooler because it never really got that cold and it only stays on when you are driving so it didn't really serve us that well...but that's ok. BEST car rental experience EVER!! I had way to many questions when going through the rental process. All questions answered very politely. When picking up Gaston meet us across from baggage. He went over the jeep with us and made sure we knew where everything was. He also helped to load our suit cases! Drop off also smooth as silk. We were asked to park at location near departures. Without question, THE best vehicle rental experience I have ever had. I have been to Maui several times before and rented jeeps from the big chain companies but this puts them all to shame. I was able to pick the EXACT jeep I was renting (not just the class). I received a text as I arrived on the Island and was met at the airport with the jeep. No hassle, quick orientation and I'm off! The vehicle was essentially brand new and exceeded my expectations. Then I was contacted by text close to the return time and met at the airport check-in to turn in the jeep ....again, no-hassle and quick. Everything was done online, including customizing all the accessories I wanted, and the actual pick-up and turn-in was little more than a handshake. There are other companies that specialize in jeep rentals on the island that may be a little cheaper, but none that give this level of service. read more

I rented a Jeep Rubicon from BEXT in Maui for two weeks and it was an amazing experience! The Jeep was brought to me at the airport, my luggage was loaded in and it came with two nice beach chairs and beach towels. The Jeep itself was in great condition and was so fun to drive all over the island! When leaving all I had to do was pull up to the curb at the airport and my luggage was unloaded by a BEXT employee who took the Jeep and off I went to catch my flight home. Hands-down one of the greatest car rental experiences of my entire life. These vehicles are a must if you are contemplating driving the road to Hana. Everything from wet/muddy roads on the wet side to unpaved/rocky climbs along the cliffs on the dry side - our Jeep Wrangler Trial Rated Rubicon didn't even bat an eye. With a cautious wife in the passenger seat and 2 young children in the back, I had no doubts that we were all safe - and HAVING a BLAST! When all the other rental vehicles start turning around and heading back because their policies don't cover unpaved rocky condition - we just waved by and kept on going. They were missing HALF the entire Loop around the island!! Not only what is our vehicle more than capable, The insurance on the vehicle is built into the rental cost- which gives you peace of mind that you have proper coverage. Doing the math, I was going to spend about the same amount renting from one of the big box companies, if you included their insurance policy, and I was getting a lesser car! If that wasn't enough, they drop the car off for you at your hotel and we had them pick it up from us at the airport, which saved us the cost of a taxi/shuttle. Excellent customer service as well. Highly recommend it. By the way, the picture of Mount Haleakala was taken from the backside - Which is only possible if you drive the entire road to Hana. read more

I highly recommend BEXT, my wife and I loved our soft top Lime Green Jeep. They drop off the Jeep right there by baggage claim when you arrive, so you don't have to catch a shuttle or wait in line to pick up your car like with other rental companies. They also provide beach chairs and a fridge, NOT a cooler, a Fridge! My wife and I had a bad experience at the hotel we stayed at (fellas don't be cheap when choosing a hotel), but once we dropped the top on our Jeep and got on the road, it made everything better. read more

We've been traveling to Maui for Halloween for over 30 years (& a few trips in between), so we have a LOT of Jeep experiences to compare with BEXT. This review is late. I actually thought I had left a review last October & felt bad when I realized I had not completed it. The experience was FAR superior to anything we have done in the past. Yes, you pay more, but the value is there. First. No dragging your luggage into a shuttle bus to the car rental agency, only to wait in line for an hour and have to listen to a sales pitch for additional insurance, etc. before having to walk to a giant parking lot to get your car, & wait in another line of cars t leave. The same is true for your return to the airport. All of this takes hours away from your vacation. BEXT picked us up at the airport gates, we signed a few papers (5 mins maybe) and we were off on our holiday. The return was just as seamless. We drove to the gates, and Gaston was there waiting for us. He helped us unload our luggage and we were done. The Jeep itself was so much nicer than the strip down basic model that the rental agencies have. BEXT has fully loaded Rubicans that are true 4wd. We learned the hard way that the big name rental agency jeeps have the linkage disconnected (not true 4wd) when we got stuck & had to be towed out of a parking lot in Hana. Yes, a parking lot. The entire experience, from reservation to drop off was a seamless first class experience and I highly recommend BEXT. See you later this month! read more

What a wonderfully simple process. We were worried on the pickup, and drop off process. Our plane landed, texted we had arrived, grabbed our bags and our jeep was right outside baggage claim. Texted 10 minutes before we wanted to drop off at baggage claim and our guy was standing waiting for us. Easy process, no shuttles or waiting, or the "or similar" from the big names. Our car was new, first class condition and no hidden fees. We was worried since it was different than usual process of car rental, but I figured worth a try, it was a great process. Excellent service, if your going to Maui you have to rent a Jeep from BEXT. No need to deal with crappy traditional rental car shuttles, waiting at rental car counters or any of the other B.S. The service we received felt very personal. We picked the Jeep up and dropped it off with no paperwork or trouble at all. Great company, customer service and vehicles!!! BEXT had a beautiful Jeep Rubicon JL waiting for us up at baggage claim. We didn't have to take a train to the car rental companies like everyone else did to pick up their vehicle. The Jeep had chairs, towels, etc in the Jeep and it was spotless. When we returned to the airport, BEXT met us at the front door at our Alaska terminal, so all we had to do is unload our bags and go. We rented a 4 door jeep for the day to travel the Road to Hana. The driver met us right beside the cruise pier at 8:15 and was there on time. The jeep was in great condition and was very clean. There was an iPad with an app they created showing the different stops for the Road to hana it was VERY useful because we didn't have cell service majority of the time. Without the ipod gps we would have been lost! After reaching Hana we continued on that road to circle back around to the cruise port. Most car rental companies will not let you complete a full loop, they make you drivhave back down the road to Hana. The drive on the south end and through the middle of Maui was absolutely beautiful. Usually when I book something, at least one thing goes wrong. Just the way it is. In this instance, nothing went wrong. I received a text from a BEXT member while I was on the tarmac, he was waiting when we got our bags, left us with the keys and the car and had his own ride back. Received a text as we were driving to the airport and left the keys with another BEXT member. The Jeep was in immaculate condition, handled the Road to Hana quite nicely, and had all the amenities we were looking for. I would give BEXT 10 stars if I could.
