What I like most about this place is just how skilled I find that Olga is in (Hair Designing rather than just cutting) I am reviewing only my personal experience with This business Which I find to be A satisfactory one overall. Every time I enter I can't say enough about how immaculate she keeps the place. The white tiled floor is spic and span as is everything else kept clean and fresh. I would say her prices are competitive and her attention to detail is extensive in satisfying whatever the customer wants done. The only drawback is that you have to go down many stairs to get there but it is well worth it once you arrive in A most welcoming manner! This place takes both men and women for haircuts and other beauty treatments but I am writing only about my personal experiences with Olga as one of the most personable and professional individuals you will find! She keeps A low profile and is unpretentious in her demeanor. You can feel comfortable being around her as she does not try to compete with the customer and take center stage. She also has A large Screen TV to relax while you are waiting for services or while she is working on you if you choose. There is an immaculate rest room as well in case you are wondering. She also sells different beauty products that she can recommend. All-In-All , The sum of all the accoutrements you will receive will make you want to return again and again just as I am A fan of Olga's Unisex Salon in Rego Park! Waited until 12pm and called numerous times hoping the call to be transferred to the owner or some employee. Finally at 12pm Maria showed up and she has the audacity to lie. Maria clearly stated that she was at the salon at 11:20, this really upset me because for the past 1 hour I was right in front of the salon!!! One of her other excuse: there's no record of my appointment and when she opened the appointment book, I love it how my name and phone was written clearly for the designated time. List of excuses just continues..... It's unprofessional to tell a client to come at a time when you selectively chose not to be there. Atleast have the courtesy to call and reschedule the appointment if you are unable to make it on time. This entire experience was not gratifying but I did give it a try as I already pre-paid for the manicure. Maria did a decent job so 2 stars for that. Taking 3 stars off for lying, wasting my 1 hour, and being highly unprofessional!!

The beautician (didn't get her name but she's short with shoulder length blond brownish hair -you can't miss her) speeds through the wash with adding a bucket of water to each of my ears than actually washing my hair. Someone needs to train her how to wash hair and not ears. Anyway, after the ear wash I sit in her chair and she tells me that she has to wet blow my hair because it's getting late. I said no I don't want a wet blow because too much heat and blowing thins out your hair. I asked for rollers and to sit under the dryer. She then catches an attitude and says "ok I'm going to put big rollers because we're about to close". I then said to her if you knew when I walked in at 6pm that you would not be able to provide the service I requested you should have said so and I would have taken my business else where. Don't agree to it just to get the money then switch it up last minute just because you're about to close. It doesn't work that way! I waked in at 6pm, you said your last customer is at 6:30pm. That gives you ample time to properly wash my hair and put in appropriate size rollers and sit me under the dryer! The worst service ever! I'm a full price paying customer. I should get exactly what I'm paying for. There are too many Dominican salons in Brooklyn to put up with BS like this!!!!!! Learn how to do business!

They were able to give me an appointment for 30 minutes after I called, though they weren't quite ready because the pedicurist was still eating lunch at 4 PM. I don't begrudge her for eating lunch but they could've totally told me to come later. The pedicurist was great; she didn't speak any English at all but this wasn't a barrier for me picking out my toe color (not gel). I have no complaints for my $20 pedicure that included a massage chair, foot wash, brief foot massage, and well-painted nails. It's been a month and my toes still look pristine. I would definitely come back for this. Unfortunately, my manicurist was not so great; she grabbed my hands while I was still getting my pedicure and made me stop the massage chair so she could file my nails. She asked if I wanted my nails cut or just filed, which I was surprised by because I'd imagine cutting my nails was a default. My instinct told me to say no, and I'm glad I did so because I don't know how it would've turned out. I asked for a light pink opaque nail polish - literally did not matter which one as long as it's transparent. She kept asking me to point at which one and I repeated myself several times, gesturing to all of the light pinks and saying "whichever one is opaque, not transparent" and I pulled out google translate to Spanish just to confirm. She gave me one that was beige. After a lot of frustrated back and forth on both our parts, she finally got me this one but painted my nails hurriedly to the very bottom, giving my nails a ragged look. She also left some nail polish on the sides and I had to ask her to remove it for me. She was annoyed every time I asked her to fix it and she was on her phone half the time. I don't know if their roles are set, but I would absolutely not get another manicure from this person again. My gel chipped within the first week and was pretty sad looking by the second. My gel manicures usually last me 2-3 weeks without any chipping at all.

They gave me the"wet dog" treatment. It was awful, they washed my hair and wrapped it in a tiny towel without blotting nor squeezing my hair dry. I was dripping water down my face and back while I waited for a chair to open. Unfortunately, I stayed for what happened next. I sat on the styling chair and the lady burned my hair, my scalp, my ears, and my face cheaks. I told the lady that the blow-dryer was too hot and she replied that the heat needed to be that high. There was a little girl next to me getting her hair blow-dried too. She told the lady doing her hair that the blow-dryer was too hot too and the lady gave her the same answer: it needs to be this hot. I could see that the girl was in pain. We both were in agony.
