I wouldn't give it a star at all if I could. This place sucks!!!!! They will uptick you with fees and don't keep their word. Car got towed to their place, they made me turn in my title, pay the towing fee and holding fee when it wasn't there for 24 hours. They stated they would keep it until insurance came to look at it. Agent comes by the next week and they had sold the car to a junk yard without notifying them. Owner claimed they don't do business like that and said "it's my word vs your word" If you come here, keep ALL of your paperwork. Think twice before signing anything and know your rights. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would. I was passing thru Normal Bloomington while towing a trailer. My transmission line broke at the gas station. I called AAA and they sent a baby tow truck. I decided to find a wrecker that could handle the job. I found Maurer on yelp. Gave them a call. Nobody could come out that late but first thing in the morning a guy was out there hooking the truck and the trailer. Got me to a safe location to get my truck looked at. These guys were absolutely amazing. If you have a problem give these guys a call. Everyone was friendly. I'm truly satisfied. Other tow company's need to work like these guys. This is an unprofessional company. Called to ask if they have my car. Told they would get back to me after 45 minutes. One hour later. Called back. They have my car. Aske to get my things out of the vehicle. Told they would need to be paid. I told them hold on. They hung up on me. Called back to give Insurance information. Told they don't handle that. It would have to wait for the Adjuster. Ask to talk to the supervisor. They said ok. The same voice comes on the phone. I say this sounds like the same person. They say it is. I ask to talk to their supervisor. They say that would be the owner. Ask to speak to them. They say it will not help. I say I don't want to complain about their policies. I want to complain about their rudeness. They continue their rudeness by talking over me. They could of avoid all this by talking to me. Asking why they need to hold. Then explaining the policy. Totally appreciate this place. My car literally stopped moving in the middle of a busy street. It was nighttime and I wasn't sure what to do. I Googled and found this place with 24 hour towing. The man got there fast and was super nice. He knew exactly what had happened (broken ball joint) and didn't make me feel like an idiot. Not a good experience and very unprofessional. Worker proceeded to try and strap up my car as I was there to leave and go home, I was asking questions about the situation and the company. Got a very aggressive "F U" from the worker and was threatened. Police got involved.. When calling the main office to leave a review, they would not allow me to speak with the manager as I requested. Also got a big attitude from the lady on the phone, not helping solve any problems. Very unprofessional and very careless with their treatment towards customers/victims. read more

The previous post says it all. So i have a parking permit affixed to the inside of my back window for where I live. I awake one morning to find my car missing or stolen and call the police. They follow their routine and check if it is in impound anywhere in the city. Answer no. Thinking outside the box, I inquire of the landlord who tows from their premises. So i give Maurer Wrecker Services a call. Low and behold they have the exact description of my vehicle that was towed from our lot during the night that the local Forces got a NO from minutes before. So I go to pick it up. Strange thing though, the parking sticker had been peeled from the inside back window. Now its my word against theirs. They won't release the car unless i get ripped off for over $100. Real smug look on the guys face. BEWARE. The local Forces need to keep an eye on this operation. read more

My vehicle wasn't starting, so obviously couldn't drive it to the service center. Maurer Wrecker showed up very quickly, and were very professional. My neighbor went out to see what they were doing and why they were taking my vehicle. The driver handled it very well, telling her he was taking it to a service center for me. She knew it wasn't starting, so believed him and let him continue. I will definitely recommend Maurer Wrecker, and will use them again in the future if I need towed anywhere. Lesson learned: let neighbor know before my vehicle is be towed so she doesn't think it's being stolen. read more
