Okay, so this is a weird review for me. Let me preface it by saying; I am a dude. I do not wear…read morebra's or women's panties (although I am sure I could pull it off if I had to). I do however have a wife and a daughter who both shop the women's plus size departments. If you are a dude who has ever been in my position you understand the fear I felt when my wife says she wanted to just swing by to pick up a few things and make a return. Such trips can easily spiral downward quickly into tears of frustration,self-recriminations as to not doing better on that diet, and of course the dreaded question; does this make me look fat? Let's just say that she didn't marry stupid so I politely declined to go inside and said I would be happy to wait in the car. She reminded me that the AC doesn't work well when the car is just parked. I told her to crack the windows. By the time she got done giving me The Look, I meekly followed her inside like a kid whose been told he has to go to church before going to Dunkin Donuts. The store was small but well stocked however, and she quickly found what she needed. The returns she made were handled without any pushback despite her having removed the tags from one of the bras and the other being purchased online. She also noted it was nice have real people working in a Torrid rather than a super skinny teeny bopper who couldn't relate making her feel already more self conscious than she is. So she walked out happy, which meant that the rest of my Saturday didn't suck. Hence five stars.

Destiny got me sized correctly for the band and then I was able to try on a few in the style I wanted until we found just the right cup size. Being a well endowed woman, this is something I have NEVER done before. I have been wearing the pullover style ever since they were invented. I am extremely self concious of, and embarrassed by my chest size, it is always in my way and nothing ever fits right. Once we found THE ONE, I was so relieved. Nordstrom is usually known for exceptional customer service, so this experience was extremely…read moredisappointing. My husband purchased a pair of shoes that ended up being too big. The shoes were in perfect condition, with the tags and receipt, and there was absolutely nothing wrong with them. When he attempted to return them, the employee acted as though they no longer accepted shoe returns. My husband has an accent and is not originally from this country, and the way he was treated made us very uncomfortable and concerned that he was being treated differently because of that. I called the store afterward to clarify the return policy and was assured that there was no policy preventing them from accepting a return on shoes. Then traveled out of the country. Before leaving, a manager had assured us that they would take care of the situation when we returned. Unfortunately, by the time we came back, we were outside the return window for receiving the money back on the original payment method. The new manager we dealt with was not understanding or considerate of the situation. In fact, she told us that even the store manager might not be able to do anything, but that manager would not be back for another five days. After everything that had happened, we were left wondering what the purpose of waiting another five days would be. We ultimately accepted store credit just to resolve the situation and move on. Then, as we were leaving, we could see the three employees together through the window, laughing shortly after our interaction. Whether they were laughing about us or not, that is certainly how it appeared, and it was incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful. This entire situation could have been handled so easily with basic communication, understanding, and customer service. Instead, it became a frustrating experience from beginning to end. Nordstrom has a reputation for taking care of its customers. Unfortunately, this particular experience was the complete opposite. I sincerely hope management reviews what happened, because every customer deserves to be treated with respect and dignity--regardless of their accent, background, or how they communicate.
