Terrible experience with lack of knowledge. I was disappointed from the time I checked in to the appointment itself.

Sadly unless you're working with a…read moresmaller office and thus a much smaller group of patient specialists, you are going to run into really poorly ran offices and staff. I had to push them to get things handled properly but once that took place things seem to run more smoothly. Advocating for oneself is always harder when you're in pain so I totally can see why there are tons of 1 star reviews. Okay so moving on, as many seem to mention, the doctor I see is great here. I can tell he is no nonsense and to the point. I like that. His bedside manner isn't one that pads the ass of patients however I never found him abrasive. I have worked with neurologists for nearly 20yrs and I have seen good and bad ones. He is great. I miss my doc in SF who was the best honestly, but this doctor is for sure a great find and is skilled. Billing is a bit wonky here but I have found my way around that nonsense as I am versed in billing and coding so I stay on top of things. I can't really complain about their practices. They do what works for their office and if a patient understands policy and knows how to manage things on that end as well, it makes for a smooth process. Ask questions! Everyone wants to look to Dr Google for health related concerns but it seems nobody wants to ask for understanding on billing and coding lol. The info is out there. Do the leg work! Treatment - it's worked for me. There are options I have already explored elsewhere and I don't want to go back down that path here. I have a plan from my previous neuro and this one picked it up without any fight. His Pa is kind and compassionate and funny. What more can you ask for? Well maybe someone to answer the phone! But I ended up getting my doctors personal contact and bypassed all that nonsense. Tip: When you call, just leave a message with your name, dob, and number. They won't have it in your record without that information. They won't call back if it's not in your record. Trust me! Now that being said, don't expect them to call right back and lord knows if they do, it'll be from an unknown number or at the worst time possible (like when your kid has a blowout or meltdown and you are NOT getting that call, and that was your ONLY call back from them lol). Try to understand that a lager practice comes with bigger problems in the service department. This goes for anything but in the medical industry it is paramount. Don't want those issues? Go find yourself a practice with one or two doctors and a small group that manages that entire office. It's rare here but I'm sure it's out there. And yes, you may have to pay cash to see that doctor. I hope this review has helped you, I understand how debilitating pain can be and how hard it is when you feel like you're back is against the wall. Stay strong.

Because of the office's terrible communication, my sister drove one hour and 30 minutes to get her to this appointment. My sister is my daughter's legal guardian, and we had the paperwork on hand to prove it. Despite their scheduling team explicitly telling us ahead of time that she was clear to bring my daughter, the office refused to see her. They claimed the appointment had to be rescheduled because I was not physically present and was only on the phone. When I spoke to a staff member named Selena to ask where I could immediately send the legal guardianship paperwork, she refused. She falsely claimed that the appointment time had already been passed by 40 minutes, which was completely inaccurate. When I confronted her about the fact that their own scheduling team told us this was fine, Selena admitted that they constantly have problems with their scheduling team. When I asked why they still use them, she casually responded that they "can't just fire them." To top off the entire unprofessional interaction, she repeatedly called me "Mrs. Gordon," which is not my last name. They turned away a child with severe autism who traveled hours for help, all because of their own staff errors and a total refusal to look at legal guardianship papers. Avoid this office if you expect basic competence, professional communication, or care for disabled children.

This is common practice with a patient who's symptoms are stabilized. At my 2-week post-op appointment and every appointment afterward, I repeatedly tried to explain how intense and persistent the pain was and how concerned I felt about it. Unfortunately, I left those visits feeling unheard and dismissed. I understand recovery from spinal surgery can be difficult and unpredictable, but as a patient, I desperately needed reassurance, guidance, and to feel like my concerns truly mattered. Instead, I personally felt like I was repeatedly told to "wait it out," even as the pain continued month after month. During this process, I was referred by Dr. Kalra to multiple different specialists in an attempt to address the ongoing nerve pain. However, after being evaluated, those doctors ultimately referred me back to Dr. Kalra regarding the issues related to my fusion and recovery. This left me feeling frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsure where to turn for answers or support. More than a year later, I am still dealing with the same nerve pain that began after surgery. This has significantly affected my quality of life. When I contacted the office again hoping to discuss the ongoing issues I've been experiencing since the fusion, I was informed that I was being dismissed as a patient and later received a certified dismissal letter from the practice. That was incredibly upsetting after trusting this practice with my care and trying for so long to advocate for myself. I'm sharing this only as my personal experience. Every patient's situation is different, but for me, the lack of support and communication during such a painful and vulnerable time was deeply disappointing. I hope future patients feel heard, respected, and taken seriously when expressing concerns about their recovery.
