So, I originally found Maven's Treats through Michelle's classes at Pinot's Palette. I was hooked after the very first class! So fun and relaxing, and just a great time, especially if you go with friends. But I have also gone alone, and with my kids (yes, there are kid-friendly classes too!) Michelle is a great instructor, guiding you through the decorating process step by step, and giving good tips along the way. The classes are typically 6 pre-made cookies, and all supplies are provided. During the class you also get a cookie (or two) to snack on, which are always the bomb! At the class, Michelle hands out her business card, and tells all her students to contact her with any questions! And she also gives out her cookie recipe! Well, me and a friend decided to make cookies for a party favor, and I ended up texting Michelle some questions. She was super responsive and helpful! She also sold us some piping bags when we were in a pinch and couldn't get the right ones in time! After that I knew I was a customer for life. I began following Maven's Treats on social media, and fast forward to Quarantine 2020, and Michelle sold cookie decorating kits out of her home with contactless porch pick up. Well, in the past couple months I've done four sets (Disneyland, Easter, Mother's day flowers, and Quarantine theme) and they have all turned out great. The first few were online tutorials, the last one was a Zoom virtual class. The kids enjoy it, it's a fun distraction, and they taste great too! In February I went with a friend to a "Valentine's Day" themed cookie decorating class at Pinot's Palette. It was a fun experience, and we both had a great time decorating (and eating) our cookies. Michele explained each step well, and made it easy and fun to follow along. I had such a great experience that, since then, I have ordered a handful of her take home cookie decorating kits during this pandemic. Standard kits generally come with 6 pre-baked cookies to decorate, pre-filled frosting bags, and sometimes fun sprinkles! You can watch her class on decorating online, or get creative and do your own thing. If you are looking for something fun to do with kids, family, friends...whatever it is, I'd definitely recommend one of her cookie kits/classes. read more

Michele (Maven)'s classes are a wonderful place to learn to decorate sugar cookies. Her designs are unique and she tries to incorporate new techniques for repeat students. Instruction is very clear and her methods are conducive to learning because she takes the time to explain various concepts about using royal icing such as different consistencies and when to use them and design techniques as well. I feel like I'm going beyond decorating cookies and learning to make cookie art in her classes which really excites me. It's nice to hear her share her passion for new cookie designs and themes. read more

I was really looking forward to this cookie class but I tested positive for Covid the day of the class. I was told that there is no rescheduling or refunds which is a huge bummer since the class is so expensive. There is nothing on the website about this so I would not recommend going to this event. read more

I've been meaning to post a review for a while after Michele made some amazing cookies for my daughter's 1st bday! I wanted Alice in "Onederland" themed cookies and she delivered! I corresponded with Michele and gave her a couple ideas about what I was thinking for small embellishments and she told me what she thought would look nice and on what cookie.
