Alfredo from Maverick Fence put a ton of time and effort into my gate repair estimate but was unable to complete the job. It sounded simple, but the with the existing metal gate that composite wood we wanted made it super complicated. He provided calculations, and he said he even did a run to the home improvements store to check out alternative materials. Here is what he texted when he opted out: "Good evening, I have been looking into the material you requested and researching other providers, but that material is only available on special order, and since it is not the dimensions, we need we run the risk of it not meeting your expectations and it cannot be returned so I cannot run the risk of ordering and paying for material that won't be usable. Therefore, I will have to opt out of this project, I have put in countless hours looking for alternatives to meet your needs and back and forth messages with no success on agreement. Having to work with the existing frame limits the possibilities and makes it really hard to find ways to make it work, whereas starting from new, the possibilities are endless. Ultimately, we went to Lowe's and were able to find the perfect Hardie board (siding/paneling) right on the shelf for our regular handyman, Ricardo to stain and mount. We will see how it goes. It is rather heavy, but with reinforcements to the hinge mounting, should be alright. We are going to have to wait to get the job done as Ricardo could not special order materials either and had to start another project for someone else. Alfredo was on it! He came same same day of call to give quotes when a part of an old wood fence fell down due to high winds and failing posts.
