Our ride

Once in a lifetime experience! My husband and I went for a tour in November for our honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing! We had gone back and forth for a while figuring out if it was something we really wanted to spend our money on (it's not cheap). After several recommendations from family/friends and looking into a few options we decided to go with Maverick. Mainly we went with a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel, who raved about the experience she's had with them - she's done several tours with different companies and we went with her advice. First of all, I was very nervous to fly in a helicopter since I have never done anything like this and I'm mildly afraid of heights but the pilot was very calm and knowledgeable and gave us a thorough safety demo before even getting in the helicopter. Also, I have fairly severe motion sickness so we went with this company because of their nicer/roomier helicopter options which we were told helps with the bumpiness of the ride. Honestly, I still got a little queezy but the views and experience were well worth it! (maybe take some Dramamine if you get motion sickness) Regardless of how my stomach felt, the views were so incredible! The sheer beauty of the island, the incredible views (we were surrounded by waterfalls at one point), the aloha spirit which I definitely felt and the epic music our pilot played likely contributed to me bursting into tears at one point! Yes, it was that magical! I'm so happy we were able to go on this tour. If your budget allows and you're debating whether to do a tour - the answer is yes! and Maverick is a great tour company to fly with!

Awesome freakin' experience. Looking at helicopter tours on the island of Kauai was daunting and we wanted to ensure that not only would we enjoy ourselves, but get the best rate possible. Maverick went above and beyond our expectations... Our pilot was awesome and was very informed! I have already recommended Maverick to friends who are traveling in January. Thank you for the amazing memories!

My husband and I had an awesome time on the 30 minute helicopter tour with Maverick! Our pilot, Chase, was knowledgeable about the area and a lot of fun to be with during the flight. We were a pretty quiet crew, mostly because it's hard to find words when you encounter such beauty. I'd recommend taking a non-drowsy medicine for motion sickness, even if you aren't the motion sickness type. You may encounter some dips and shakes that you're not used to experiencing :) The tour will also take you close to the highest point in Kauai, which apparently other helicopter tours won't go. The scenery was so lush and green and you will lose count of all the waterfalls! We were lucky to go the few days after a huge storm, which I'm sure helped too. This was by far the best use of our money for anything we could've done on the island. Seriously, just do it.

Today was one of the greatest experiences we have ever had! The scenery was unbelievable and the service was some of the best we've encountered on the Island. Tone was our pilot and we have not stopped talking about him since returning from our flight (1 hour ago.) Not only was Tone thorough in his safety briefing and knowledge of the aircraft he far exceeded our expectations for information throughout the flight with the area. He is an absolute asset to your team and we will give 5 stars over and over for todays flight along the Na Pali coast.

This was... by far... one of THE BEST rides I've ever taken. The pilot was super knowledgeable, friendly and flew very well. I've been with a few other companies but Maverick was the bomb. I'd definitely recommend them over and over

Costco deal was worth every penny! We were able to schedule same day no problem before the tropical storm came in. Helicopter pilot was very informative & the views are unlike any you can see ever on your own. Even the Napali coast Mountain View from the sky was amazing. Waterfalls galore, beautiful colors & a roller coaster ride at times made it for a once in a lifetime experience! Mahalo

There is no better way to see the island than by helicopter. Aaron was our pilot. He was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the area and really paid attention to his passengers. One of the passengers was not feeling well. Aaron did a nice job accommodating her yet continued to create an amazing experience for everyone else. I would highly recommend using Maverick in Kauai.

Took the fifty minute helicopter tour. Barefoot John was our pilot. He did a great job of making us feel safe and took us over some of the most beautiful scenery we have ever seen. We got great pictures. Breathtaking views. The entire staff was friendly and professional and they took a great souvenir picture of us. You will not be disappointed with this tour. Incredible people and a great excursion.

Thank You to Timory and Joel at "Aloha Ever After" for making our special day the most amazing…read moreexperience ever! When my wife and I decided to do a destination wedding in Hawaii, we had no clue where to start. I started out researching photographers and ministers, when I contacted Aloha Ever After and spoke with Timory, I just knew this was the right company and the right people to make our wedding the best it could be. We set our wedding date for Dec.9,2018. (I know, I unintentionally procrastinated with my review.) But our experience was phenomenal and the memory stays with us every day. Timory did an incredible job helping us with information to get the marriage license, flowers, suggested accommodations in the area and even provided great options for the ceremony. after seeing Shipwrecks Beach, we chose that as the place to start our new life. We arranged to have her partner/Husband Joel perform the ceremony and Timory on photography. They were both awesome to work with, in tune with our wishes and exceptional with assisting us the whole way. The ceremony was beautiful, we did a sand ceremony as well and all of the photos were absolutely breathtaking! One of my outstanding memories during the ceremony was Timory asking us to pause briefly to look into the ocean, there was a Manta Ray lingering just off the beach, in front of our location, she said that was a rare occurance at that beach, in fact, she said she hadn't seen that in 20 years of performing weddings at that beach, the locals at the Tidepools restaurant all concurred and didn't believe it until I showed them the photo. we chalked it up as the spirit of our lost loved ones joining our special moment. that was super cool to experience. I truly can't say enough about Aloha Ever After, The prices were more than reasonable, the help with planning was priceless, the team of Timory and Joel and the overall experience is something I'll never forget. We've returned once to revisit for our anniversary and to reflect on the memories. We hope to go again someday to renew our vows and you know my first call will be to Aloha Ever After! Thank You for a job well done!

A couple planners didn't seem interested once we spoke and I mentioned Partial/Day of Coordination. I had narrowed it down to two planners. A week leading up to the wedding was very stressful. Hurricane Lane was happening, but I knew we were okay since we had a Plan B. Due to the weather and flooding that was going on, unforseenable events happened. Raimey could have cancelled and we would totally understand, but she was there for us and a consummate professional. We had to leave Kauai due to the COVID-19 pandemic on the day we arrived stay one more night in Oahu and then fly back. Jessica was very understanding and she worked with us as our timeframe is changed around. It also happened to be one of the rainiest weeks of the year. So finding a spot that had the right lighting for our photos was difficult and Jessica offered to meet us on a Sunday and take pictures outside of our ceremony day which we very very much appreciated. They gave us a lot of options were added photos and were very welcoming towards our family and even took some family photos which we will treasure forever. For her ceremony she did a traditional ring blessing which I would very much recommend. She was so kind and warm I would urge you to reach out to her if you're even considering an elopement inquiry or a small wedding as we did. We had six people and Jessica met us at our Airbnb but she also has a property that you can elect to use or meet at one of the local beaches which she knows inside and out. Living in the Bay Area, we did not have the time or money to make repeated trips to Hawaii while planning the wedding. We needed a coordinator who could take our ideas and turn them into reality. Jill is very well-connected to the island community in Kauai - when we needed something, she could get it. It didn't matter if we were looking for a place to eat, a projector or something completely random. Once we selected our vendors, Jill acted as our single point of contact, greatly simplifying the planning process. Jill is also extremely accessible, both by e-mail and telephone. She maintains a spreadsheet with a breakdown of the ceremony and reception details, including price, so it is easy for couples to figure out what tasks remain unfinished (or unaffordable). The team at ABC absolutely nailed it and did it all with a smile on their face. And on top of all that, they are very very reasonable on pricing. THANK YOU SO MUCH JULIE AND ABC! We couldn't have asked for a better team to help us with our big day!

It was a no brainer from there that ABC was going to be our wedding coordinator. We did the signature package which was so perfect for wanting to ensure we put our own touches on our own wedding needs, but had access to recommended vendors, unlimited calls leading up to the big day, and our coordinator (Julie) took over as primary point of contact at the 3-month mark, allowing us to focus on getting ready for the wedding and eliminate stress! Their process of helping you plan a wedding is so organized and detail-oriented. They make it so simple for anyone to become a wedding expert! They ensure that you're thinking through all necessary details to plan for a perfect day, empower you to select vendors that match your style and needs for your dream wedding, and consult you on building your perfect wedding day timeline! We received so many compliments of how seamless the day ran, so many of our guests said they'd never been to a more efficient wedding that flowed perfectly with no hiccups. We are so blessed to have had Julie as part of our wedding planning process. She is such an incredibly kind and caring person and we cannot recommend her enough. On top of this, we are a same-sex couple and one of our concerns was finding an LGBTQ friendly coordinator. Julie always made us feel comfortable, loved, and welcome. She even went through the effort to change all of the pre-set language in spreadsheets and surveys that said "bride and groom" to "bride and bride." These little efforts went such a long way for us and were just another reason we loved our experience. First, I want to say Diana is super nice. There a few reviews that mentioned slow response time, so…read moregoing in I was aware of that. In the beginning responses to emails were pretty prompt (within 2-3 days). I had 6 months to plan my wedding and it was to be a simple affair with just my groom and I. So, I wasn't too worried about getting a response within 24 hours. I did notice that response time was a little quicker if you called vs. email, but like I said I had plenty of time so the 2 to 3 days was fine for my situation. Diana was always kind even when I changed my mind about 100 times on my bouquet and other things. Always reassuring me that it's what I want and to make sure I remember that because she didn't want me to settle even if it meant making a million changes. :) She met with us the day after we got on the island and took us to our beach choices, even adding one at the last minute that she thought we may like. Then on the day of the wedding she called to make sure we were doing well and on time. During that conversation I mentioned liking another beach better than the one we chose. Even though it was about an hour before the ceremony she offered to change to location......making her job 1000 times harder. In the end, we did NOT make the change and everything was absolutely perfect. Diana had done/set up everything I asked. My bouquet was perfect and just like the picture I sent her. Our cake was moist and very good. The rose petals were scattered on the ground just the way I asked and our lei's were fresh and beautiful. I definitely would use Diana again. Although, I don't plan on getting married again as I got the perfect guy :)

She got back to me right away with a laundry list of vendors and proceeded to talk a million miles a minute, but within the conversation, never stopped to ask what my vision was or what my budget was. Once I got the info from her, I set up another call and weeks went by before we connected again. It was only after I sent an email threatening to fire her that she quickly called me back. At this point she sent a catering proposal that was completely incorrect; food choices and services were wrong. When I responded with a request for another call to discuss the discrepancy and also get a full proposal so we could budget correctly I heard nothing. Weeks went by, multiple emails sent with no responses or even acknowledgement. Now it's November...THREE MONTHS after our initial call. With it being less than six months from my wedding that is going to be held 3,000 miles away, without a single confirmation with a vendor, still no catering contract, and no cost breakdown I realized that there was no way I could trust Diana to follow through and sent her an email requesting to terminate her services. She, of course, quickly responded when she received this email. She had charged an up-front deposit of $300.00 and in her response said that she would be keeping the deposit because of the work she had done so far; one thing being that she had booked our photographer. When I told me new coordinator the photographer, she reached out to them and they told her that I was not booked. She sent me a list of vendors that were allegedly booked, but with Diana who knows what had been done and what was fabricated. All this to say, I do NOT recommend Diana Gardner and Alohana Weddings; she herself called this instance "embarrassing" and "a learning lesson" (ALL ON MY DIME). She wasted valuable planning time and made the last three months extremely stressful and now I have to start planning my wedding from scratch and fight for an undeserving $300 deposit. STAY AWAY!!!

The playlist on board was spot on, setting the perfect vibe. I wish I could find it on Spotify! Despite the weather, the views were breathtaking, and getting a little drenched just added to the adventure. The food was delicious, especially the smoked pork, salad, and fresh fruit, and my husband loved the mai tais. Even without the sunset, the whole experience was magical. Price was $250 per person and we booked a couple days before the tour date. (we went at the end of March - the weather was fantastic and not too hot, also not raining). Although it was pricey, I felt like it was worth the experience and highly recommend anyone do a tour, even if it's not with this company. We got back to shore around 7-7:30pm, so total time was 5 hours ish. Pros: - the Na Pali coast is BEAUTIFUL - the views were truly a once in a life time experience for me and I saw the fullest rainbow I've ever seen - The tour guide was super informative, we learned a lot about whales, and they also taught us a lot about certain mountains and waterfalls that we passed on the Na Pali Coast (like where Kauai kings were buried). - We stopped to watch whales multiple times and it was really cool! - The 3 staff working on board the ship were extremely helpful in answering questions, providing drinks, and instructing people from a safety perspective - Safety - I felt very well taken care of the whole time. It's a barefoot cruise but people can choose to keep their shoes on if they want. They provided bags for people feeling nauseous and gave good advice when people were feeling seasick. - Food provided - it's not fine dining or anything (chicken teriyaki, salad, etc) but it does beat having to pack your own food or go hungry around dinner time. Also unlimited alcohol or nonalcoholic drinks. - The staff helped us take photos and there's a lot of great photo opportunities at the coast - Champagne toast at sunset, which was beautiful to watch out on the water - bathrooms available on board - My husband didn't feel like eating on board due to the motion sickness so they were kind enough to pack a to-go box for us! - Parking was easy and the meet up location was easy to find - we stood outside for most of the ride since it felt better than sitting inside, so we did get a bunch of sea-spray and got super wet from the 10 ft swells, but it felt really fun! Cons: - I think they need to put a huge disclaimer with statistics or something to show people how common it is for people to get seasick and vomit. I think maybe 5 people from our whole boat got really sick and either fell or vomited during the trip (can feel a little weird enjoying the beautiful view while someone smells like vomit next to you lol). They do tell you at the beginning that you can walk away and get a full refund after hearing the captain briefing during the meet up starting spot, but I don't think they really emphasize just how many people get sick. I personally felt fine but I felt really bad for people who had to gut through the five hour round trip feeling terrible. bring Dramamine!! This was definitely a highlight of my first time in Kauai, I wouldn't necessarily do it more than once due to the price, but it was a fantastic experience for the views!
