Sent an email with no response from Celia Flowers or the escrow officer. Called the office and spoke to a manager; she said call back tomorrow. Really? Its been ten days now. Still no money. Never in 35 years of deal making have I had to ask for my money from a title/escrow company...I guess my next step is to file a complaint with TDI to exhaust any administrative cure. Follow up. Got a call from escrow agent. She overnighted the check and I received. She apologized and was very nice.

My experience with him occurred one week after I moved to Tyler. While I was back in Austin bringing another load of household items, he took it upon himself to have his handyman begin chopping two feet off of my backyard Stone Fence. I drove in and caught the man doing it and motioned for him to stop. He spoke no english, so I had to give him hand signals in order for him to understand. He left, but about two hours later, I heard the chopping again and had to go out and make him get off the fence again. Evidently Mr. Powell had ordered him to continue anyway.I went over to Powell Properties office around the corner to find out who had given the order to do that to my fence. After a few days, I spoke with Mr. Powell and he proceeded to ask for money from me to finish off capping the top part that they had left jagged and ugly. I thought about it a while and eventually decided that it was his responsibility to cap it off, since he had not even asked my permission to begin with. I called and told him I'd like him to cap it off and he said that I would have to chip in some money because he had already spent $200. chopping it down and told me that a "decent" property owner would understand that the cost should be split. I told him that a "decent" property owner wouldn't make the decision to chop someone else's fence up without prior agreement that there was a need and prior agreement to split the costs. It seems Mr. Powell doesn't care much about his neighbors and has gotten away with throwing his weight around a bit too easily and quite certain of getting his way. He really is a man without character and out for himself only. In the past year,I have referred two different workers to him, who did work for him and left unsatisfied with the money he was willing to pay them for their labors, as well as the way they were treated by this man. My advice is to rent or purchase with him with your legal advisor because it seems he is the only one who wins in his world.

I began dealing with East Texas Title Company in Tyler, Texas back in July, 2025 when my mother…read moregifted me the deed to her house. I noticed, after my mother gave me the Gift Deed that is showed an incorrect property address. I have been arguing with Avonli, the receptionist for the past two months about whose fault it is. For some reason, the title company has put Avonli in charge of running the whole show, but being just a receptionist, she's not licensed to be giving me advise and in addition to giving me incorrect advise, she has repeatedly lied to me. She blames my mother for incorrectly filling out their Walk-In form used to transfer information to create the Gift Deed whereas I blame the title company because after reviewing the Walk-In form, I told her that wasn't my mother's handwriting. Originally she told me that I wouldn't have to pay to have a correction deed drawn up, but then she changed her mind and now wants to charge me $530 in addition to the $200 my mother already paid them for the original, incorrect deed. I know when I'm being played and I don't appreciate being treated in such an unprofessional way. And the title company has things set up to where you cannot e-mail anyone in the company because when you do, the e-mail is returned as undeliverable. Another thing, I have told Avonli that I wanted to speak with Diana Perez who is the Manager, but she won't allow me to. And yesterday I tried to send an e-mail to Cecia Flowers who is the Owner, but it came back as undeliverable. Is this how they would want to be treated if an error occurred on their document(s)?

Mr. Jacobson and his crew saved our porches. We just finished building two homes, that are…read moreconnected, one part is for my mom. The initial contractor that was supposed to put in our screened porches and doors completely failed us. They were in the original build bid, but totally neglected and we were left with some scraggly old posts that were twisted and warped. We called Brad Jacobson, and he responded within two days, he showed up at our homes and we went over all of our options, he was very clear in all of the things we could expect and choose. There was a slight delay in materials showing up, but when wasn't there in 2022, but once everything arrived, things got rolling. The screened porches and doors are not only beautiful, they are strong and sturdy, they really work well keeping out all the little bugs as well as enhance the look of our home immensely. Now we can really enjoy our porches no matter what time of year, without any fear of mosquitoes or bees etc. Thank you Brad, I know it's been a couple of months since they were installed but we wanted to give them some time to see if anything would change. There's been no warping or fading of the walls and posts, the screens are beautiful and as tight as day one. We really love the work that was done, and I would recommend this business to everybody

They also replaced three 30" x 84" picture windows in our living room that provides a great view of the screened porch. The week that the workers arrived was one of the hottest of the year with daily temperatures exceeding 105 degrees each day. In spite of the miserable weather conditions, the work was completed on time and the results were exceptional. The screened porch is beautiful and adds so much enjoyment now that cooler weather has arrived. (Our cat gives the room 10 stars.) We are very pleased with East Texas Elite Exteriors.
