As an Uber driver, I don't like to wait for my car to have service. So l always make sure to order my tires online to insure they have the tires in stock, and I set up an appointment so that I can get in and get out. Unfortunately, Mavis couldn't get this right. When I called Mavis Chalfont to make my appointment, I asked them to check if my tires were in stock. They confirmed they were. The next day(Friday), I brought my car in. Guess what? No tires in stock. So they had tried to have them delivered by end of day. They apologized, and told me to call in the am tomorrow ( Saturday). I called Saturday at 7am and I got Shea. She said that they were extremely busy and asked if I could bring in the car on Sunday. I showed up at 12:59pm, to which Shea immediately told me that the tire guy was on lunch break ( will be another 45 minutes). Although, I finally got my tires installed, it was painfully inconvenient. I thought I did everything I could to prevent this from happening, but I guess you just can't at Mavis Chalfont. read more

Terrible customer service at the Chalfont location. This was my second bad experience with Shea. This time Shea left me stranded without a car to get to work. I dropped off my car Friday evening for a Saturday appointment (for an annual state inspection). I had not heard anything by 2:00pm (Saturday), so I called to get a status. Shea told me that my car only needed wiper blades, which I agreed to. I waited again for Shea to call and let me know when my car would be ready (which she didn't). I called Shae again at 4:15pm to get a status. Shea told me my car was ready, but they closed at 5:00pm. She then told me they were also closed the next day (Sunday) for Easter. They are normally open Sundays. I told her I could not get a ride within the next 45 minutes. I asked to pay over the phone. She said Mavis would not accept payment over the phone, even though her lack of communication all day caused the problem. I needed more than 45 minutes notice. I live 6.5 miles away and would have walked if need be so I had a car for work on Monday. I work in NJ and need to leave for work on Monday at 6am. I could not wait until Mavis opened at 8am. I spent all day Easter trying to find a ride work on Monday. read more

I dropped off my car that is my back up, as it had a slow leak in one of the tires. Asked that they check for a leak and patch it. They called me to tell me that there was a nail in the sidewall and that the tire need to be replaced, they also told me that the other three tires were low on wear and should be replaced, as well as my battery, and I did need an oil change. I told them I was going to stop in to take a look at the tire. I want to see the nail hole for myself. 15 minutes later I got a phone call back saying they made a mistake. They confused my car with another car. The hole was in fact fixable, so they were going to do that free of charge to make up for the mixup. They asked if I want to get the oil change, quoting me $87, but they would give me a $30 discount for the confusion on the tire. I said go ahead that sounds like a good price. When I picked it up, they charged me an additional fee for the oil change, they had a $16 labor oil change and a five dollar filter fee so all in it still cost me $85. I've never had an oil change price quote that didn't include labor and an oil filter. There is no doubt in my mind that this place is an absolute sham and rip off and I'll never make that mistake again. Please be aware before you drop off your vehicle here. I will be checking the oil when I get home yo make sure it's clean and filled to the appropriate level. I can guarantee they used traditional oil instead of synthetic, which is what they charged me. This is my secondary car that I drive maybe 3000 miles a year, so I will be fine with the existing tires and this oil change will need to be replaced based on time alone. Oh, and I just noticed that the sticker for the oil change says I will need another one in 2 months. Stay away from the clown show folks! Update: i was driving this car yesterday, and guess what? The check tire pressure came on AGAIN! The pressure was down to 19 PSI when i stopped to add more air. My guess is that they didn't even plug it... In the meantime, last weekend, I had numerous calls with corporate, as well as the regional manager. Their resolution? They will give me a $30 discount on a future service and use this as a "training opportunity". Thanks, but no thanks. I took my car to my son's friend Eppie's Discount Tires where my son had run flats patched (which has been on for years) and the owner said it's a scam to profit off a brand new tire which costs roughly $350. It cost me $40 for them to patch my tire. Very unprofessional the way they spoke to me. DO NOT GO TO HERE! The staff at this location needs to attend seminars on customer service. We bought tires from them yesterday and they installed them for us. They stained my car from the inside, on both sides, as if they stained the interior with greasy oil on BOTH SIDES. When I showed them, the manager said that it was nothing to worry about, you need to be positive, and with his dirty rag he wiped the inside of the interior, leaving even more dirt inside. He also lied that they did not open the door on the passenger side, although I have a recording on the camera that they opened and sat in the front passenger seat because they were looking for the keys there. The manager says what can I do, go to the detailing shop and wash it, why should I wash the car at my own expense when they dirty it and don't admit it and also lie that it wasn't them who dirty it. "Mavis has always known their customers come first with top-quality service." But, no, with those manager's attitude it is hard to believe that Mavis cares about his customers. I left a 5 star review yesterday I must correct. While Chris was certainly nice, turns out that is his only redeeming quality. Integrity and competence are not in his toolbox. As we concluded our transaction, I asked him if they inflated my tires to the proper (heavy towing) load rating, and he either lied to me or was too lazy to verify, but he said they did. Once underway and miles down the road, my dashboard told me they had not - they were 20 pounds light. Too busy to go back, I went to a closer Mavis today. While they were not thrilled to have to assist me with this, they did properly inflate the tires for me, when I noticed that - for the first time in my entire lifetime experience with TPMS readings post tire install - the Chalfont store had reversed them so the readings don't match the tire they are mounted to. Lied about proper inflation, did not properly recalibrate my TPMS stems. Shoddy work, lazy, unethical. Not a fan, won't be back. read more

Not sure why i have continued to go here, but really an awful experience. Dropped my car off for an oil change Saturday. They said they may not get to it then. That was fine, i said tomorrow morning is ok. Heard nothing until I had to call at 3. person said they were working on it. one hour later, nothing. I go there to see status, car isnt being worked on. Asked for my keys and left. 30 hours my car was there for an oil change and they couldn't do it. On other occasions i've asked for tire rotations and they have charged me and not done it. I know because i have a plug fix on one tire and it never moved. When it was STS years ago it was better, Mavis is a mess. read more

Also the tire is much cheaper then the Mercedes dealer recently charged me as I recently purchased 4 new tires. I have had issues with the previous management when it was STS. Be very weary of using this Mavis Tire location. I went here 1/2019 to have some break work done. This place was local and I had a coupon so why not try it. Long story short they put my safety at risk. From each break pad in the front were 1 of 2 pins missing from each front wheel and the clip that holds them in. Frightening. I should have know better when I went in for my appointment and they couldn't find my appointment I made online the night before, a customer that had an appointment hours before was yet to be worked on and while my car was in the bay a couple came in and told me how unhappy they were with the service there. I had gotten my tires changed last week. the AM Chris took my car in right away even though the person who took my call forgot to put my reservation time. fast forward to yesterday- I hit a pot hole after being ran into the shoulder by two ppl racing. I called them, they not only had the tire I needed still, they told me to come in right away. I had my 4 kids with me, one of the other team members came out and handed them all hot wheels cars!!! I couldn't believe it! the wait was to be expected. I couldn't beat the pricing & their moral compass! I now have warranties on my tires which is such a relief! I have been to this location for minor issues that seemingly either do not get fixed by them or they are simply not doing anything and charging me for repairs. The first time I brought my car in I hit a curb and popped a tire. That went fine except that there was rattling coming from underneath the car that wasn't there before. First attempt to fix it had no change. 2nd time, same thing. Finally, they realized they did not secure some of the "tooling" underneath the car and did actually get it fixed. I went in for a light bulb to be checked. The light had been going on and off so I asked them to look. They told me the bulb was dead and they replaced it. Wouldn't you know it, it kept going on and off. They replaced it again. No change. 3rd time I was told there was corrosion in the outlet the lightbulb goes into and they cleaned it out. That worked for a few weeks and then the same issue. Now a few years later, I have to tap the side of my car to get the light to go on to this very day. Not every time, but pretty much every other time. All of this may seem minor until we get to my brake issue. I had brakes that were practically not functioning at all. I brought the car in and they charged me $1200 to fix my brakes including fluid and rotors. Within two weeks the brakes were shot again and when I brought it in a 2nd time they charged me $700 stating they did not work on the brake housing previously which was causing my problem. I asked, well then what was the point in even doing the other work if it was not the issue... and I just got some run around answer. Well after paying $2,000, a month goes by and the brake light comes on and I just cannot trust these people anymore. This was roughly six months ago, but maybe a little longer. I would have to check the dates on the paperwork. At the same time I got my brakes fixed the first time I asked for a plug in one of my tires since I had to fill it with air once a week. I have been filling it once a week since. A tire place that cannot fix a tire or at least tell me I need a new tire. Yeesh. Go else where. They are a name that draws people, but get yourself a genuine mechanic. Edit: I think this might be my second post ever. You really have to make me feel just so let down for me to post. read more

Highly do not recommend taking your car here for services outside standard procedures. I recently needed my engine mounts replaced, which led to 6 visits to Mavis in which they were unable to fix the problem. After my car would not start in my driveway, I got it towed to another repair shop. They were able to quickly identify that the engine mounts were screwed on so tight that they actually were striped...I spent time and money with Mavis when they were the ones creating problems with my car. The other shop fixed quickly and was able to charge me a lot less than the $600 that Mavis had charged. My family has been long-standing, loyal customers. I am appalled that Mavis would let this happen; I have since lost my trust in them. read more

I wouldn't go here if they were doing the work for free. They don't know what they're doing. Had my tire leaking air and had to fill it every day but was making it to work and back. Took the tire off the car for their convenience so they could diagnose the tire. Walk in and a man takes the tire in the back for "literally" 1 minute and 30 seconds. Comes back and says you have a bad TPMS Sensor and... it'll be $100 for the fix. Ok great no thanks, when I put air in the tire the tpms light disappears so obviously that's not the problem. Took it to a local shop on Bristol road. In and out in 5 minutes. It was a bad valve stem. 5 minutes and $5 dollars. All they want is your $$$. read more

I asked them to replace a bulb in my headlight and told them which one, but they replaced the wrong one. I politely told them that they made a mistake. The STS rep began to argue with me about it and said it was probably a loose wire. They obviously did not look at how much money I spend there yearly between our two cars, well over $1500 per year. I brought a car that had just bought to get a 4-wheel alignment. When it was done the "service advisor" stated that they made all the adjustments possible but the rear camber was still out. I asked him to check the machine again because that is adjustable on this vehicle. So, I had to wait for another alignment to be done. As I was driving home something still didn't feel right so when I got home I looked under the car and found the left front lower control arm severely bent. First thing you do before doing an alignment, peak at the suspension components. What a waste of $80. I should have known when I pulled into the parking lot and there were no customers. They've done repairs for far less than other shops and have more than once adjusted items on my vehicles that I didn't mention but that needed adjustment. Can't thank the entire crew at the Chalfont Mavis Discount Tire enough. Came back from Philly to the train parking lot to find one of my tires was flat due to a screw lodged in the tire. Gave them a call at 5:30pm and even though they closed at 6pm they told me to bring the car right on in. I had to pick my 3 and 5 year old sons up from daycare first and I went right over afterwards. Words can't express how professional, courteous and friendly they were to myself and my boys. They patched up the tire quickly and treated us like royalty. Brought my old 91 Ford truck to these guys for inspection and mentioned to them that if it cost too much I was going to dump the thing. I left it with them and they called me and said it couldn't be inspected because of body rust. They offered to "help me out" and take it off my hands.
