Will never bring a vehicle here again. The customer service at the front desk is awful, and completely inept. I watched them try to overcharge someone in front of me. Then told me I didn't have an appointment and sent me away. When I called the number I had made the appointment with, the guy I was talking to answered the phone. Then they magically found my appointment. But none of the parts had been ordered, as promised. And then I was told they couldn't perform the service we already agreed upon, I would have to settle for a more expensive option (Company policy he said). We've had countless other issues, including work taking longer than we were told on a regular basis, and being told not to tip the mechanics because they're lazy. I don't know what is going on at this location, but it's bad. And I will never bring another vehicle here. Please, find any other shop in the area (there are multiple) you'll have a much better experience. read more

I will NEVER EVER EVER, under ANY circumstances be coming back here, and neither should you. This is the most poorly run Mavis I have ever seen in my life. They screwed up on my car on MULTIPLE occasions. I went back for the same problem multiple times in one month, and they kept failing to fix it. They failed to complete simple procedure and it led to my car breaking down in the middle of the road. Absolutely terrible experience. I brought the vehicle (2017 BMW X3) in for front struts, two new tires, and an alignment. They assured me all parts were available and would be ready that day. I chose a Saturday as I was off from work. I called at 4:30 since they close at 5 to confirm, they advised the vehicle was being worked on. I get a call no more than 20 minutes later that they had received an incorrect part and it wouldn't be ready until Monday. Less than ideal but it happens I suppose. Had they communicated when I called them it would not have been an issue. This is where it goes wrong- Monday the vehicle is ready. My wife picks it up for me and drives it about 40 minutes to pick me up from work. She notes when she had made a right turn there was a bang and some strange sounds. I figure the suspension is settling into place so it may just be that. I drive it, there's a notable rattling from the front end. I park and look to see.. there is a part that is entirely unsecured left hitting into things. I reach out, their district manager (Mark) reaches out and has the vehicle towed to their Flemington location and sets me up with a rental. Great. I get the vehicle back, everything seems in order. I go to have a third party shop check it, the toe rod is entirely seized on the passenger side front. You cannot perform an alignment with this. So they lied. They took about $3,000 from me, refunded only $275 after an argument.. did not perform the service as requested and never advised anything regarding it. DON'T GO TO MAVIS!! Mavis in Chester needs to be shut down! Literally EVERY time I've gone in the past two years for a tire rotation, they've lied and told me to replace two of my tires. It's my fault that I've listened to them and replaced them!! The last time I was there they told me to replace yet two more, that my brakes were also shot, and my alignment was also really bad (I had the alignment done just four months earlier!!). I knew they were being untrustworthy. I drive a Tesla and the brakes virtually never need to be replaced because it has regenerative braking!! Confirmed with my husband and son that my alignment is fine, too. Today was the FINAL STRAW. I took the car in for a scheduled rotation and, with only 8k miles on my tires, they said ALL FOUR TIRES need to be replaced and that the car is such a liability (ie., not safe) they refuse to even rotate them! Outrageous!! No wonder this place is always empty and I never see the same employees. High turnover. I told them how they've been lying to me all these years, high turnover!! They apologized and offered to give me a free alignment if I bought all new tires! Ludicrous!! I then headed over to American Tire Co. Mavis did the proper job, my issue on the windshield wiper price was responded to by Mavis regional and a prompt credit resolved my issue on pricing. I failed to ask, and they did not inform me in advance. Mavis responded appropriately and to my thorough satisfaction. The Michelin Pilot Sport All Season tires installed make for a really great driving experience, quiet and more responsive than the OEM Bridgestone Dueler. read more

I went in to get my radiator fixed/changed. I dropped it off Saturday evening and was told it would be fixed Sunday so that I could go back to Philadelphia with no issues. I called around 4 pm, 5 times from my cell phone since I hadn't heard anything. No answer. Called from my fiances' phone, they picked up immediately. (Phone Screened) I was told by Jose that the one mechanics went home and he couldn't do it alone because he had no help. So they took my car apart and left it in pieces without telling me that it'll take another day. If I knew they weren't going to be able to finish my car that day I would have taken it somewhere else. (Should have) I had to Uber back to Philadelphia since I had to take a flight early Monday while my fiance stayed back another day missing work. After I received the car, The issue was not fixed as it was still overheating. A week later our transmission gave up on us, out of nowhere! I will never take my car back there again... BECAUSE I DONT HAVE A CAR ANYMORE!!! read more

I wanted to scrap some mounted snow tires that had been taking up space in my garage. No longer have a vehicle with 16" rims. I called Mavis and Ash (manager) told me the scrap cost/tire and said they were swamped but he'd take care of it if I would drop them off. This was not an urgent job, so I did that just after noon. About 5:30 having received no call back, I was beginning to get concerned. I shouldn't have been concerned. Ash called me back having done the job himself since he is always short of help. Went to the new Mavis in Mount olive for an oil change. Low & behold the shyster came up to me to tell me 5 things that were "wrong" with the car & printed a quote (that I didn't ask for) for over $600! I told him that I'd talk to my mechanic about it. I saw him do this to every person there. The people are so well off & ignorant around here that they automatically tell them to work on whatever Mavis says is wrong with the car. That was a year ago and my car is working perfectly without fixing any of the things they said were wrong. They even included telling me that my power steering fluid was dirty! The current management at this location is a big disappointment compared to previous managements. Recently brought my car to have the heat shield on converter repaired( making rattling noises). 3 times and still not fixed! I called one of those times to discuss update and the manager rudely stated to me on the phone that he "was busy!" And I need to call back! Not customer friendly. Will never EVER be bringing any vehicle of mine back here again. I had my tires and front struts replaced and had an alignment done. I had to bring it back and oops they forgot to do something to fix my alignment and had to redo it because my car was not driving straight at all. It was also making a clunking noise that it was not previously making and Mavis had no clue what it was. So needless to say we were not very happy about it all. They told us that my brakes would need to be done soon and we said no thanks we'll do it ourselves. Well my boyfriend and his brother are doing my brakes today and they found out that a bolt was missing from my caliper on my brakes. My boyfriend called Mavis obviously upset because they were the last ones to work on my car and had mentioned about the brakes needing to be done. They yelled at him and told him that he can't prove it was them, which we really can't but they were the last ones to work on my car and look at the brakes so how did they not notice a bolt missing. I am just very very unhappy with this Mavis and not sure if I will even go to any of the other local ones in the area for fear of something else like this happening. I'm just glad that something bad didn't happen while I was driving my car especially with my 6 year old in it. Just don't with Mavis all together. DO NOT GO THERE! Update: had to have a defective part replaced and they claim there is no written proof of it. Nothing to print out to prove that they actually replaced the part that was defective. read more

Terrible. 8 am appointment to rotate and balance my tires. 10 am now. Two hours still not done. The don't have the tire weights needed to balance tires. This is a tire place!!! They're supposed to have the things they need to do the service. Terrible. read more

I had a flat from hitting a pothole. I know it is unusual in NJ but I did. I got there first thing on Sunday and asked if my flat could be repaired. They checked it finding a hole in the sidewall. They did not have my tire in stock but I agreed to come back Monday and they ordered it. They also moved my temp spare from the front to the back to make turning easier. Monday the delivery was late so I had a long wait. They adjusted the price to compensate for my trouble and completed the repair. The reason for this review is to commend the woman working there for her honesty and going out of her way to make sure I was satisfied. I have used Mavis in the past but I will be a Flanders customer in the future. read more

Just brought my husband's truck there TODAY for an oil change and tire rotation. While the service was fine and the guys at the desk were nice, the aftermath was the problem. Noticed on the invoice it said "customer asked" next to check struts and brakes. I did not ask for that at all. Left there, started driving and noticed that when turning left, the truck would struggle a bit. Assumed it was something with the tires because he was due for them. My husband went to drive the truck once he got home and while backing up, the truck's brakes kicked in while turning, WITHOUT pressing the brake pedal. He looked underneath and the brake pads/rotors are all engaged! Not sure what they did, but needless to say, we'll be going back there first thing. When this location was STS, they ruined his previous car's brakes. They were never the same after being serviced there. I had hoped with the change of company, things would be different. I was wrong!
