I was visiting family nearby one Sunday afternoon, and had a slow leak in the front driver's side tire. Every shop I called nearby was either closed or about to close. No one would take me, and on a whim I tried Mr. Tire in Flanders. The man I spoke to (Jason) was very friendly and said to bring the car in right away. He quickly diagnosed the problem (there was a puncture in the middle of the tread). The shop patched the tire at a very affordable price and had me back on the road in about an hour. I'm surprised this place doesn't have more one star reviews lol. I used to work here and we used to not be allowed to turn away service before we close. I show up at 6:30 asking for an oil change which only takes about 10-15 minutes. Yet they turned me away and was told it would take an hour. Attached you will find a picture of an empty shop. I bought the Groupon for an oil change, filter, and tire rotation. When I showed up they said I still owed $35, due to additional services they were gonna do. I told them to take those off but they said I still owed $15 due to taxes and local fees. That was a lie, they just added extra oil and upgraded the filter without my permission, and that's where the additional amount came from. I won't be coming here again. Even though it's advertised as $70, they still try to charge you for the full $95. Definitely feels like a scam. They should be honest about what they're charging. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS CHOP SHOP! I would give them NO STARS if I could! They are thieves and should be investigated. Every time I have taken my car to this establishment, they "find" reasons to charge me an exuberant amount of money. Recently, I bought my car in because it was not running correctly. They claimed to replace the spark plugs. The car still was not working. I took the car to American Tire and Auto in Chester, NJ. They stated that the spark plugs were inadequate and cheap. They would not even place these plugs in a lawn mower! I had to pay for them to be replaced again. I also got an oil change at Mr. Tire. The oil change comes with a free wheel alignment. Yet, they charged me $130 for a wheel alignment only for me to have to replace all four tires two days later! Tires they claimed were fine. They only made this claim because they wanted to charge me $800 for a set of tires. THIS WAS CRAZY! The tires only cost me $400 for a set. A set that needed to be replaced after Mr. Tire replaced the set six months ago! The car has only 28,000 miles. Replacing them once, I can understand. But, to replace the entire set again six months later!?! Seriously! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE! read more

Went to Mr. Tire in Flanders. If you need tires or a repair DO NOT GO Here! I had two flat tires that needed to be patched, I myself, marked each tire where the Leak was in each. I had also priced shopped the tires just in case I needed them. They called me and tried to tell. me I had a hole in my sidewall, which I did not. And wanted $400 per tire when everywhere else they were $250,00 each. I told them I would come down to see the hole in the side wall, they then changed their story and said they mix my car up with a different car that was there. I was asked to write a positive review of my experience at Mr. Tire by their management, but unfortunately I'm unable to do so. I went to Mr. Tire for the first time in August to get an oil change and to have them look at my tires because the TPMS came on. I got the oil change and was told my tires were just low, wasn't an issue. Apparently they never actually looked at the tires because there was metal in the driver side rear tread. If identified, this could have been an easy patch. The tire continued to leak and went flat last week, at which point I was told the tire needed to be replaced. Mr. Tire gave me a price for the same tire I had originally and I said I'd consider it. I called around to get a competitive quote and found a cheaper servicer. I told Mr. Tire this when I went to pick up my car, and the manager asked me who provided this quote. Naïvely, I told him which company I would be using to replace the tire. The manager then said he would match the price, and I agreed to let Mr. Tire do the work, then made my appointment to fix the tire in two days time. The day before my appointment, I get a call from Mr. Tire saying that the quote I got from their competitor was actually incorrect. The manager of Mr. Tire took it upon himself to call the other servicer and get his own quote to test if I was telling the truth, and his quote was higher. I told the manager I had no reason to lie, and he could take my business or leave it, and he agreed to do the work at the matched price we had agreed upon the day prior. This left a very bad taste in my mouth. When I came back the next day to get my tire replaced, I asked that along with replacing my tire, could they look at the other tires because they felt low. They replaced the tire, and said there were no other issues with the remaining tires and they reset the TPMS. Today, one week after my last visit, the tire light came back on. Naturally, after this terrible experience with Mr. Tire, I didn't trust that they would take the time to try to fix my problem. I went to their competitor up the street, and not only did they have to raise the tire pressure on all tires 3lbs (because they were incorrectly filled by Mr. Tire), they found a nail. Mr. Tire repeatedly cast me aside and disregarded my requests to appropriately service my vehicle, never taking me seriously. I do not recommend their services. read more

Mr. Tire in Somerville, NJ is by far the most customer-focused service center I have found. I have many examples of this claim but my most recent has to do with a dashboard sensor tire pressure light that came on one afternoon. This was a busy Sunday and I thought perhaps it came on in error (which has happened to me before). I called Mr. Tire and spoke with manager Craig who said to "come on in". I did and when my tire pressure was checked by Julio he found that the rear left tire was indeed low AND had a nail imbedded in it. Eventhough the store was very busy Craig and Julio fit me in and fixed my tire in about 15 minutes. They said "they didn't want to send me home with a tire in that condition." I am so grateful to Craig and Julio for considering my safety above their busy schedules. Thank you Mr. Tire! read more

I brought my car in to get my tires aligned, and three weeks later I brought my car to a tire shop to get a new 4 set of Michelins, they call me and say that they're unable to take off one of the bolts because it had been previously stripped. I called Mr. tire and explained the situation, they were full, but just asked for documentation that the lug was stripped before they attempted to take it off, and asked for me to come back the next day to get it remedied. I wasn't charged for the new lug and my tire was good as new the next morning. Appreciate the help. read more

we have been going to the Mt Olive shop for years and they were amazing. now they are absolute rip off artists. please don't go to them . we had several things happen that we didn't feel good about but since we had been good customers we trusted them. Now they took my sons car and told him his radiator was blown- 650. as soon as they repaired it, before he even got to pick it up the head gasket blew- and they claim it happened right after the repair. for 2k- now he's out all of his money and had no car. we wouldn't have repaired it if we knew it was going to be this much money. our last repair was a "loose bolt" that wrecked the car right after a repair. the repair before that? a "loose bolt" right after a check up that wrecked an engine. please stay away. They have gotten thousands upon thousands of dollars from us. read more

Never again. Misdiagnosed the problem with my car TWICE, $1400 later and the car was not fixed. They sold me things I didn't need (two tires, one wheel, trans/motor mounts) and failed to see or ignored what was actually wrong. Took my car to a real mechanic and they're replacing the leaking trans lines and drive shaft. Not only that, the day after i picked up my car from Mr. Tire I had a blowout on one of my BRAND NEW tires from Mr. Tire. He said he noticed a noise "like a rock or something" stuck in a tire and promised to check it out but apparently it wasn't high enough on his list of priorities. Had a bad shimmy in the steering column and knew I needed my front tires balanced. Got it in and out in 45 mins and my car drives with no vibration at all. The hacks at Walmart in Flanders don't know how to balance tires or their equipment is poorly calibrated. Front desk manager was very forthcoming and easy to work with. I've been here twice and each time I left unhappy. The older man at the front desk gets ZERO stars (and one moon) - less than pleasant, although he tries to be nice. First time, about 3 years ago I went since I had a coupon for $19.99 oil change with free tire rotation. It took them 1 1/2 hours to do the oil change and the final cost was over $30. When my car was brought out, the tires weren't rotated. He told me I need new tires and there's no sense in rotating the tires. WTF? Yes, I did need new front tires, but the back tires had ample miles to go and I wanted to move them up front. This most recent time I needed tires immediately and many stores didn't have in stock the size I needed. This store has a great website for tire shopping and making an appointment. So, I went back. The same guy at the desk, checking in was a breeze, and he said "checking" the alignment was free. Was told it would be about 1.5 hours. I came back sooner and he said I needed alignment. I said don't do it since I have someone who does it for me. He shouted to the mechanics in the back to not do the alignment, but he was told it was already done. So, he calls me over and says "let's make a deal on this". He said it's normally $89 for alignment, how about we split the difference?" I said, "How about free, I didn't want the alignment". He said "Fine, I'm not gonna argue about it, I don't need the hassle". Wrong way to treat a customer, never going their again. Shame, they have a convenient website. read more

We've been going to Mr. Tire in Flanders for several years with both of our cars and have never been disappointed. They have always been very accommodating when we've been in a time crunch. Yesterday I stopped by (no appointment) because I discovered that one of my tires was going flat. He told me to pull up to the bay & he'd take care of it. As I did, I saw in the reflection of the bay's window that one of my headlights was out. So, not only did he put air in all of my tires, but he replaced my headlight. UPDATE: The rim has been replaced and their tone changed greatly from the initial callback. If I could give negative stars I would. Simple tire swap to a brand new rim and put a big scratch in it. Brought a punk kid technician out and was convinced a curbed the rim before I brought it in. After arguing told me they would replace the rim. However after calling them later asking for this in writing John the Store Manager said it was not feasible for a replacement so has to send out for a replacement. Which is absolutely ridiculous on a brand new car. He then proceeded to back track on them causing it and siding with his technician or changed his story too. Further he said they would not be able to send anything in writing since the store 'didn't have email'. read more

if you're planning on taking your car here - don't. I've used them for synthetic oil changes. In my last oil change, I was surprised to see the windshield sticker state to come back after 3,000 miles. Now that my vehicle is due for another oil change I asked John to review the history of the vehicle and explained why it went from synthetic to regular oil during my last visit. Basically, John said I either must have specified for it to be changed and if I didn't I should have specified which oil should be used (I definitely didn't specify to change the oil type). To conclude, this has to be the most ridiculous statement I've ever heard. A simple apology would have rectified the matter, but John seems to be believe it's the customer's fault. This incident shows no accountability for their actions and they have data on their customer's vehicles which they don't use. You should try to find another place that would care about your vehicle. read more

Made appointment, they said they could meet the schedule, and this is for a warrantee repair on a brake job they did, it is now 3 hours past when the car was due and expected. They were perfectly nice. I had a bulging tire, I scheduled an appointment, brought my car in and two tires were changed. Everything seemed good. The next day my car starts shaking while driving to work. I figured I had some serious issue - I did. The lugnuts were almost off on my right tire which was one of the two that were replaced. STAY AWAY from this place. I have been ripped off and I'm done with them. I was told today I needed an alignment then they told me they couldn't do the alignment because the alignment adjusters on my 2010 Jeep Wrangler was frozen and rusted and that they needed to be replaced. Cost??? $700. I went for a second opinion. Nothing is wrong with the alignment, I actually have a transmission leak which Mr. Tire told me nothing about. IF YOU WANT AN ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF THIS SHOP YOU SHOULD READ THIS....I brought my Honda Pilot in for with a dead battery....Also asked for all the fluids to be changed while I had it in...Mr. Tire replaced my battery, alternator and changed the fluids including an oil change. The total bill was $1,050.
