Brought my car to quality discount tire as cars front end was shaking. I was told out of balance tire which was not true. It needed a brake caliber. After I paid for my unneeded balance I noticed a wheel cover was missing and asked where is it. I was told it broke when I hit the pot hole that caused the shaking. They broke it when removing it. Been a customer for over 30 years. No longer, the motto there now is make a buck who cares if we fixed the car. I will never return. I have been dealing with Quailty Discount Tire for 25 years now going back to when they were on top of route 10 across from the Buick dealer formally known as Salerno Pontiac. They have repeatedly given me great service selection and pricing on the tires that I wanted. If they didn't have what I wanted they simply ordered it within 24 hours and they were installed on my vehicle. Back in the day I purchased one police car after another from auctions. Everyone of them seem to need tires of course. They suggested Cooper cobra poly spec tires. They're inexpensive and performed fantastic I even take my classic 1969 mustang there with some rather pricey rims without having to worry about my car. Since they moved further west onto Route 46, a section that a lot of people to the state still think it's route 10 they have a nicer facility and are able to move a lot more cars in and out. The owner specifically is a guy you can trust. He keeps a handle on the flow and makes sure that you're completely satisfied with your purchase. Thank you for being there for me over the years.! Started going here in 2020. My most recent visit I purchased a full set of tires. After leaving I noticed my tire pressure light was on even though my tire pressure was fine. I came back and they reset the light. Almost immediately the light came on again. I returned and was being treated almost like I was bothering them with this. I informed them that this was not an issue prior to purchasing the tires. They proceeded to just quickly reset the light again, from the parking lot. They didn't even bring the car inside this time. They then told me that "everything checks out" and there was no problem with the sensors that they could see, even though the light keeps coming on. The light is still on to this day and I now have to take it to a mechanic to deal with the sensor. After this, I will not be returning to this shop. I'll find another tire shop in town. Causing an issue like this and then dancing around it is just wild behavior, especially for such a small issue. read more

I purchased a tire at Quality Discount Tire in June of 2023. I got a flat tire in April of 2024 and I brought it in to them. The lady at the counter was pleasant, I explained the situation and she said no problem. They called me about an hour later to let me know my vehicle was ready. When I went to pick up my vehicle, to my surprise I was presented with a bill for 3 patches totaling $127.95. I explained I had purchased my tires within the year and I was told THEY DID NOT WARRANTY THEIR TIRES. The warranty must be purchased separately at the time of purchase. Hmmmm $127.95 seems quite steep for 3 plugs. So I questioned it and miraculously it was brought down to $42.65. What if I hadn't questioned it? How many people are being scammed here??? We have five cars in our household and we will definitely not be returning to Quality Discount Tire. I highly recommend you take your business to more reputable place as well. read more

Had a problem with a tire losing air (bought tires elsewhere). As the business is basically "tires", I took it to them for their expertise. I was not impressed. There was nothing wrong with the tire, replaced the stem (still losing air months later!). While there I had an oil change done. The cost was $25.00 stem, $80.00 (!!!) oil change, total $111.96! The receipt was handwritten vs. a computer receipt, no explanation of cost of parts or labor. I continually receive notices from Carfax that I am overdue for an oil change, which I had done at Quality Discount Tire. In this day and age why no computer input/receipt? Easier to hide income? My experience left me with no confidence in the business. Will not give my future business to them. read more

What can I say? Rich is "the man," and his team are just great. If you only have a little nail in your tire and they can plug it, you won't hear a big sales pitch on how you need two new front tires and an alignment. I've been going to him for my tire needs since he was in his smaller shop in Randolph. I watched him expand that to facilitate another bay, then ultimately move to the larger space in Ledgewood. Usually have good selection of tires, competitive price, not a lot of "upsell" which I like. If you choose the lower grade tire for any one of good reasons, you won't get that "you're cheaping out" look. I see others post about long wait times, or issues with service. Disappointed. Bought 4 new tires and within 3-4 months 1 tire developed a bubble along the side. (To be honest the first trip there getting 4 tires was good). However the return trip was a different story. I only commute 2 miles to work, so it wasn't overuse, mileage wear or tear. Clearly a potential defect. Dealer wouldn't consider warranty or even a discount on a replacement, in fact the cost of the tire went up. Just disappointing. We're a 5 car family but won't be going back. read more

These guys are a class act. I need four new tires for my Jetta. They fit me in the same day and gave me a good price for the tires. And they provided fast service when I got there. In and out. But what really impressed me was the little things - the things that weren't really expected and which another vendor would have not done. Like finding the lug nut covers i had in the cup holder inside the car and putting them back on after installing the tires. And actually placing the spare (which was on the car when I arrived - one of my original tires was flat and in the trunk) BACK where it belonged in the trunk, under not one, but two different types of bed liners. And they put the tire kit (jack, tire iron, etc.) back in place on top of it where it belonged. These are little things - things that I fully expected to do once I got back home. I wouldn't have had a problem doing so. The point is that I didn't have to. This type of stuff impresses me. Anybody can sell and install tires, but the added level of service sets these folks apart in my book. read more

Within three months I blew out two tires and replaced them at Quality (best price in town). Rich and Scott are great and very ethical businessmen. On my last visit Richard said you are going through these run flats like water and I want to help you recover the cost. He surely didn't have to do that, they really care about their customers. He did the paper work and went to bat for me resulting in over a two hundred dollar refund. I was a retailer for a number of years and that kind of customer service has to be applauded. I've been a customer of theirs for 15 years, having bought thousands of dollars worth of tires -- their prices cannot be beat, but those come at a cost. you can absolutely forget any kind of warranty support from RIch. in fact, he will quickly fade from the counter when challenged, so that his thug Scott can give you excuses & ridicule. next, don't be surprised if their tire balancing doesn't feel quite right. I've been a loyal customer for 5+ years if not longer, and always recommend anyone when possible because they've always been amazing. Today I needed them for a single tire, havent been in for a while and found the new location. I voiced my happiness with the company and good wishes with the upgraded location to the gent that waited on me, I was positive and courteous giving them praise and attempting jovial conversation but he wasnt phased and seemed irritated. He wasnt really nice let alone professional. I called ahead and made sure to be clear with details especially tire size. And was quoted 65 after all fees and taxes cash and carry out the door. My friend called Mavis Tire and Wal Mart and got lower quotes at each but again these are my guys and I'm as loyal as you can be so off to QDT. I left the tire, didnt want to rush them, and grabbed my little one from school. Came back to a 77.00 bill. Politely voiced my issue. 65 quote 77 bill. I got... "you must have given the wrong size." "I don't know what to tell you this is what it is" I politely stated that after so many loyal years with them why lose a guy like me and all my referrals for 12 bucks. I paid and quietly left. An older gentleman behind the counter spoke up as I paid clearly irritated if not rudely asking what my issue is and that he would speak to me if I waited. I'm a single dad with 2 young kids widowed a year and a half ago. I had to get the boys fed. And his aggressive body language and tone made it clear He was grudgingly engaging me anyway. I expect basic conversational decency and equally basic customer service. I'm not the angry reviewer. This sucks and I just wish it had gone smoothly. Wrote this review before leaving they're parking lot hoping for a parking lot apology ... sorry long day...Christmas in 6 days.... something... no luck.
