My wife and daughter brought my daughter's Camry in at the end of the day before close with a leaking passenger front tire. Never again. I found the tires I wanted online and the website said they could deliver them to Mavis, so I called Mavis in Chester Springs and was told don't order them from the website, they'll order them and they'll get them sooner than if I did. I followed their advice made an appointment to have them installed after they said they'd be delivered, but called the day before my appointment to make sure they were delivered and was told by Rebecca that the order was never placed. Rebecca placed the order so I had to make another appointment, and again called the day before to make sure they were there, which they were so I went in to have them installed. When I checked in Andrew asked if I wanted a front end alignment and I said no. I just had some front end work done that included an alignment so I just wanted the tires balanced and mounted. Two hours after my car went up on the lift I was told my air filter was dirty and asked if I wanted my power steering fluid flushed and replaced. I reiterated that all I wanted was the new tires and nothing else. I also said I recently had work done on the power steering so I don't know why they would presume I wanted the fluid changed. The response was that they recommend it after 30K miles, to which I asked, 30K from what? It was the first time I took my car there, but didn't get an answer. Three hours later when my car was ready and I was paying for the tires I saw that I was charged for an alignment. I asked why they did it, and all Andrew could say was that when he was writing up the bill and telling me the work that had been done he said an alignment was done and I didn't question it. We went back and forth about me specifically saying no, I did not need an alignment so he made a big deal about having to call corporate to get the charge removed from my bill. I sat in the waiting area for over 3 hours and watched the slowest auto tech I'd ever seen in my life replace my tires, and at no time saw him do an alignment. And why they were trying to up-sell a power steering fluid flush and change, an air filter and checking my brake lights when all I went for was tires is still a mystery. After all was said and done, Andrew gave me a receipt showing the credit for the alignment that I didn't want nor was never done, but I had to ask him to give me a copy of the work order showing the work was actually done. He seemed reluctant to do so, but after shuffling through some papers finally gave it to me. Other customers were in the store and observed the entire fiasco, from me declining the alignment to having to question why they claimed it was done, and said they'll also never go back. read more

I can practically guarantee that they took advantage of my ignorance& lack of time to fake bad rear rotors on my 2012 Rav4 at 60K miles. Charged me for full, new rotors and pads, but then they put scavenged barely-service-life-left rotors on my car and charged me for new rotors, all while the rotors they stole from me were in much more serviceable condition. They probably went on to the next schmuck and sold them my stolen rotors passed-off and charged-at-full-price. Elders, beware. Every non-mechanic, beware. read more

I had a flat tire on my mini van. Andrew from Mavis received the vehicle 15 minutes before closing on a Saturday. I let Andrew know this was the only vehicle I had that can accommodate my family of 7. He told me he would stay late to plug the tire and would leave my vehicle outside after hours so I could grab it when convenient. When I asked how I could reconcile payment, Andrew said it wasn't necessary. I was able to grab my vehicle 1 hour after the tow truck dropped it off. I was impressed by Andrew's commitment to his profession and his willingness to go the extra mile. I would recommend Mavis to anyone looking for a vehicle service center that cares. read more

If you care about your rim and shopping experience, find somewhere else. I changed my tires in this shop on May 7, 2022. After I got my car back, I noticed that there were a couple paint scrathes on my rim. On one of them, there was a 2 inches paint chip off from one of my rims. I talked to the manager, he refused to admit and kept saying their machine won't damage the paint. I showed him where the paint scraches are all around the rim caused by their machine. He became silent and walked away. If you like Mavis, do yourself a favor and try to avoid this location. Otherwise, find another tire shop. read more

A shout out to Jeff and the folks at Mavis Discount Tires in Chester Springs, PA. On 9/15, I came in with a problem losing air in left rear tire. They found a nail, and made a repair. Unfortunately, the morning of 9/16, when it was time for me to travel back to Maryland, I saw that the tire had lost a lot of air. The repair did not take. Since I had to get on the road, and Mavis was in the opposite direction, I ended up at another repair shop on the way where it was determined a piece of metal had been missed. With that, the tire was repaired and I was on my way home. What is significant here - after speaking to Jeff and explaining the situation, he emphatically said that I would be reimbursed (credit back to card) since the repair was not done correctly. I offered proof that I was at another place the next morning for the same reason, but he was good with taking my word. That is a GREAT way to do business. Many Kudos to the Team there. My last experience with Mavis was actually very positive about a year ago, but this time...not so much. I agree with a past review...Appointments mean nothing! I needed one tire ordered and changed. Called Saturday (Jose was great). Ordered my tire and it arrived on time. However, when I called Tuesday my appointment time was not kept. Therefore I couldn't make it. Scheduled a new appointment for Wednesday at 8:30am. Went back Wednesday morning at 8:30. Only to find the store dark, and all the mechanics waiting outside (now for the 2nd day in a row as they told me) because the manager was late. And it could take up to an hour for him to get there! So I said I'd come back at lunch. Came back at lunch...no apology from the manager and no discount for the inconvenience. Mechanic that changed my tire was fabulous...however due to the experience with the manager...not sure I'd be back after today. Its no way to run a business. read more

I had to return multiple times for fixing my TPMS problem. Eventually took my car to the dealer and found that they misdiagnosed my problem. It does not give me any confidence in going here again. As another reviewer stated, appointments mean nothing and so repeat visits for the same problem were time-consuming and had to go the dealer. read more

Poor scheduling and customer service. Scheduled online for state inspection and had confirmation e mail. When I arrived they have no inspection person on that day. Guy just told me that he can't speak for the online system What the heck. No sorry. No way to make it alright. Just "well you should call versus online". My name was sitting there for the last 3 days in their system for this appointment. I guess they can't be expected to look at their appointments the day of or before and flag this and call me rather then me schedule my time and go there to have nothing accomplished. I took my car in to be inspected last Saturday. By Tuesday, they still had not gotten to it. Today (Thursday) I am told that they do not do inspections. Really? Why did they not tell me this on Saturnday when I asked them to do the inspection? If I need some tires, I might go there. I've been going to the Chester Springs STS for close to 10 years now, and it saddens me to see the gradual decline in quality in this shop over the years. I brought my wife's SUV to this shop for routine maintenance (tires and brakes) only to have to bring the car back 2 additional times to have the brakes fixed (the shoes came loose and were grinding on the rotor). Later on the rotors finally went (less than a year after replacement), and just last week, the rotors on my car started going as well (about 18 months after replacement). Whether STS is skimping on parts or just got a bad lot, I don't know. We've pretty much decided to go somewhere else for future work. read more

Only went here because it was close. Had a hex screw go into my tire. They told me they could not repair the tire. I would need a new 200.00 tire. I did not believe them and had them put on the donut and left. My husband took it to the mechanics I always use and they repaired it for 38.00 dollars. My gut instinct told me they were lying. I would never go to a STS again. That is just wrong on so many levels. read more
