I arrived for my appointment. and the check-in person guided me through a replacement tire set selection, with balancing and alignment. I asked him to also replace my front and rear wipers too. It wasn`t until I returned home and examined my itemized bill that I realized that the wipers were never replaced. They weren`t billed either, so I guess it was a case of NO HARM, NO FOUL. But now I have to bring it in somewhere to have it done. That, plus the fact that I could have gotten a better set of tires for the same money at Pep Boys, makes me only award Mavis 3 stars. read more

I went here after discovering I had an unexpected flat tire. I was able to fill my tire adequately to get here. I was approached quickly, probably within 45 minutes or so the technician came in and showed me the screw they pulled out of the tire. The repair cost $31 which beats $300+ for a new tire, no upselling other services by the staff which was nice. Being open 7 days IS definitely a plus. read more

Ive come here a lot and they can usually help out day of or next day with an appointment. It's a great convenient location and they have some very nice staff. Biggest complaint is they try to squeeze every penny from you. If you have a protection plan they try to pretend you don't unless you assert yourself. Every single time I come in I have to fight to get the correct pricing and they often "forget" or "don't see" when you have things like tire protection where some service is included free. I understand they are trying to make money but it's extremely off putting and tiring to have to fight to get the correct pricing every single time as I drive often and need basic maintenance regularly. Had to stop in very last minute right off the road to have a noise in my wheel well checked. They took my car right in and checked for me. Come to find the brake caliper was missing a bolt from the mechanic who did my brake job. Even pulled me into the bay to show me the issue first hand. I came in at 6:30 pm without an appointment, thought I needed a new tire because my old one had a huge screw stuck in it. They plugged it instead for about $25 and I waited in the lobby about an hour. Overall I was pretty impressed by the speedy and affordable service. The guys working were all very nice. They did forget to put the hubcap back on and almost let me leave without it, though. We've been here 3 times in the last year and have had no issues. All the employees we have interacted with including the manager, Chris, and Matt have always been straightforward with the cost of the service, helpful in finding options, and get the job done. The first time, we got all new tires, dropped off the car and they gave us a call when the car was ready for pickup. The second time, also a tire issue on a different car, I ended up not getting the work done here. Instead, I took it to the dealer because the car was only a few months old and I thought maybe under warranty, which it wasn't, unfortunately. But, what I found refreshing was that I called Mavis back again, since they did the original diagnosis. I asked for a quote and their opinion. Even though their quote was about $5-7 bucks less, they told me to just get the work done at the Dealer, since I was already there and my car was up on the lift. The third time, was this past week. We had a tire blow out caused by really bad alignment (darn, Jersey pot holes!). Anyway, they installed two new tires and fixed the alignment. They took the car out for a spin and they came back to tweak the alignment and then went out a second time to make sure everything was ok. The main reason that I'm giving a 3 over a 4 is because this last visit I waited at Mavis about 2 and half hours for the job to be complete with very little updates. They had told me it would take 1 hour 15 or so. Had I know it would take that long, I wouldn't have waited. So, my tip would be to drop the car off, if you can, and go about your day, instead of waiting on-site. read more

I had a first class experience at Mavis today when I went there to have a new battery installed in my 2017 Subaru Outback after my existing one was totally flat. I went there at 8.45 am on a Sat morning without an appointment and was told by Paul that Mavis could do the work right away. The cost after installation would be $160 incl tax and a Veteran's discount. I immediately gave them the order, went to a quick breakfast at the nearby McDonald's and came back to Mavis to find the work completed and that my car was waiting for me. Paul and his assistants, Mike and Alex, were efficient and courteous and I highly recommend Mavis for Batteries and Tires. Tesla owners: AVOID AT ALL COSTS I've been taking my family's cars to this location for years. I've had struts, breaks, front-end alignments ... thousands of dollars of work. But I'm done. I brought my 2 year old Tesla in for work. After I made an appt and brought my car in, they said they didn't have lift pads. I bought lift pads and made another appointment. Dropped my car off and they called 30 minutes later to say they didn't have a tool to take off the tire cap. (This does NOT require a special tool, BTW) While I appreciate they didn't want to damage my car, I wasted hours on a simple tire repair. They say they don't get many Teslas ... which is ridiculous since every other car in Central NJ seems to be a Tesla. When I said I wouldn't be bringing any more of my business to their shop, the Manager, Paul seemed just fine with this. read more

Needed tires replaced and went back to STS. I have brought at least 3 sets of tires from this STS. Although there may have been some customer service issues at the front desk before, it seems that the East Windsor STS is very customer friendly again. I am now using this STS for normal maintenance on my 2008 Prius again. I am glad to call STS staff "My Guys" again. read more

If I could give negative stars I would, went to mavis for an alignment and tire rotation. I had already paid and went to the truck and realized the wheels were clearly not rotated. Went inside to inform the manager and he was dismissive until I asked for them to perform the service of which I had paid for and wasn't done. I had also had 225 dollars worth of checks written to cash in my center console and they mysteriously disappeared when I had gotten the truck back. DO NOT GO TO MAVIS HAVE A REAL MECHANIC WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE!!!! $400 GONE AND BTW MY TRUCK STILL PULLS TO THE LEFT. read more

Ridiculous I had a 9:30am appointment on Saturday morning to get 4 new tires didn't get out until 12:30pm. Waited 1/2 hour to get put on lift which I was ok with. I think the guy assigned to my vehicle was trying to get fired! I've never seen someone work that slow. You wouldn't think a tire store would take 3 hours to install 4 tires. I can't see how they can make enough money to stay in business. The guy took off one tire at a time, walked around the shop, walked outside and back in to walk around my car a few times then took off another and did the same thing! I never said a thing but if I was the boss I would have fired him on the spot. I mean now its probably his lunch break and all he did for half a day was change 4 tires! Lack of communication with their customer! I have a flat tire that needs to be changed. Kwam tells me they have the tire and we are good to go. I am out of state so I call an Uber to get picked up. I so happily see that my car is on the lift so I know that it won't be long. Well an hour later I see that it's still on the lift. I go in and ask if there is an issue, is the tire in stock. Paul (the manager) says it's not and they have to go pick it up. Ummmm when we're they going to tell me?! Paul could have cared less that I've been waiting an hour. I could have made other arrangements including where and what I had planned to attend but because of the lack of telling me and giving me an option I now miss seeing my nephews games which I drove an hour and half to come see. I would never recommend them! Paul didn't feel the need to apologize or take any ownership. Terrible customer service. read more

No longer what it was. It was fairly straightforward when it was STS. Now,as Mavis,it has dramatically changed. I should have known when it took an hour and a half to do a simple oil change. My fault for taking it back when I blew a brake line. It will have taken them 5 days by the time I get it back tomorrow,provided they get it done on time. I will not make the same mistake again. If you can't make the repair,say so. Don't just take the business. I would respect them more for that. Instead,I will probably get hammered with a big bill. My fault but won't reoccur. AWFUL experience. Our appointment to have a simple tire repair was at 1:00. At 3:30 we called and they said our car was next to be looked at. An hour later, at 4:20, the car was still next to be looked at. We were told if the car needed a new tire it couldn't be done until tomorrow. Writing this review just because i was looking up reviews and saw this place. I came here 4 years ago bought 2 front tires. Within 6 days one caught a flat. I brought it there ans showed "tom" i think his name was. Well let me say he was so rude, and was hovering over me like he was Gonna fight. All up in my face saying its my fault, i ran over a nail. Even if that was the case had no proof to validate his point. I never came back again. I hope now a days there doing things different. Even if you cant fix it, or its my fault. At least respect the customer, because satisfaction is number one. Even give them 10% off or something. Anything to show you actually care. read more

I called on Wednesday and scheduled an appointment to have my 4 tires replaced on Saturday. I get there and they inform me they're extremely short staffed and it would take 4-5 hours to do. The manager at the desk recommended I return the following day at 12:30 and promised to have me in and out in under 2 hours. Upon arrival they told me they didn't have my tires in stock. I decided to only replace 2 tires. I was annoyed they hadn't checked the quantity when I scheduled the tires. I drop my car off and it has been over 3 hours and they tell me my car is next in the lot. It shouldn't take 3 hours to change two tires after guaranteeing me it'd be quick. I went to Mavis discount tires in Hightstown New Jersey, I scheduled a 10:00 am appointment and arrived earlier, like 15 mins earlier, just for a wheel alignment and tire balancing, well three hours later still no call from Jim the manager, so I called and asked him about my car, he said my car was next and should be done in an hour, Jim told me they were a guy short that called out sick, another 3 hours go by and still no call, so I decided to drive by the shop and saw my car in the same exact spot I left it, which means Jim lied, he also lied about the one guy who called out as I looked inside and looks lIke he had a full crew, I went inside and asked for my car key that I was taking my car, he wasn't even apologetic about it, like he didn't even care, stay away from this Mavis Discount Tires on 515 Route 130 Hightstown New Jersey, bad service and I wish I had read the reviews before I went there, as they are almost all one star ratings with complaints, I will never go there or any other Mavis shop, there are plenty of other tire shops around. Not having a great experience. First they don't have right size socket for my truck tires so I cannot get tire rotation. Next they have nothing left in tank to burn off rust so I can get wheel balancing. Don't mechanic check at start of day to know what he needs or realize when tanks are low and not wait to run out. read more

I am very unhappy with this company's service. I went in on Monday to order a tire and was told it would be in on Wednesday. I didn't hear from them so I called them in the afternoon, and they told me that the tire wasn't due in until Thursday. On Thursday again I heard nothing from them so I called them in the afternoon and they told me the people shipping the tire cancelled the order, and they didn't know why. They told me the tire should be delivered on Friday. On Friday afternoon once again I heard nothing from them, so I called and they told me the order had again been cancelled. I promptly told them that I would come get my car and the should rip up the order because I would buy my tire elsewhere. So not only are they unreliable, but they also don't find it necessary to let their customers know the status of open orders, even if they are unable to meet a commitment. I took my car for a slow leak in my front passenger tire. They couldn't find anything wrong. They told me I should change the valve, so I did. Not a few hours later, my tire gauge came back on. Not happy. Was also told my shocks were in HORRIBLE condition and I should replace them right away. Went straight to my mechanic at Toyota who found a nail in my tire. Repaired my tire and I have had no problem since. Was also told by my mechanic, my shocks weren't in the condition they said. Won't be coming here again. read more
