PROS: Jason is the store manager and his service is great. In April 2015, I ordered 4 Michelin Premier A/S for my Subaru which were mis-delivered to another Mavis store. Rather than wait another day or two for the warehouse to correct its delivery error, Jason picked up the tires himself so they could be installed the next day as I had requested. So I arrived the next day at 8 am and was on the road by 9:30. Jason offered to do an alignment for $60.00, a good price, but I already made arrangements to have it done elsewhere. Jason gently suggested a 3 year road hazard warranty (free flat repair and tire replacement) at $21.00 per tire which I declined because I thought it pricey, the Michelins are top quality tires and, most important, I might be moving to the west coast in the next 3 years. Mavis only has stores in the northeast US - NJ, PA, NY, CT and MA. CONS: I found out afterward during the alignment at another shop that two of the tires had been weight balanced improperly. Two tires had 3 weights on the same side of the tire and none on the other side; both had to be rebalanced. Jason apologized and offered to make things right. While researching this tire purchase, I discovered several advantages of buying from Mavis Discount: 1) Lifetime tire rotation - they suggest every 5,000 miles; other tire shops suggest 4,000. 'Religious' tire rotation will extend the life of tires greatly. I hadn't rotated my last set of tires and that's why I only got 35,000 miles on them, not 50,000; 2) They tend to have lower listed prices, and managers have substantial price flexibility. Always ask for the manager; 3) They offered a $70 four tire purchase Michelin rebate when other tire shops, including Costco, did not. Costco also offers free lifetime rotation, free flat repair and includes the 3 year road warranty in their very competitive price. I'm not a member, and it doesn't make financial sense to buy at Costco unless you're already a member and plan to stay a member or plan to become a member and stay a member. After the counter clerk Aleisha over charged me by $10 on my cc she claimed that she gave me back my card. Searched high and low for the card. Then she stated the cameras don't work. After calling the police and then the counter clerk miraculously found my card under the keyboard. This employee is dishonest. I wasted 90 more minutes to wait for law enforcement to retrieve my cc. Waste of my time and the police's time. The keyboard was also on the other side of the desk where she swiped the card in the cc reader. So this in my opinion was intentional. I saw her look under the keyboard my self and it wasn't there. I should be fully refunded for my entire service because of this incident. Mavis needs to ensure they are hiring honest people to conduct and operate their stores. Went here earlier in the summer before a road trip to get my tires rotated. Took forever to get in when there was barely any customers in. Watched the technician take all the tires off and then place them right back where he took them off from WITHOUT rotating. When I questioned him he lied and said he rotated them, I told him and the manager that I watched him. Being shocked that he actually still went with his story and didnt want him to over torque my lugnuts to the point that I couldnt remove them myself in case I had to. I had them just put my tires back on and let me take my car outta here never return. read more

Brought my car in for a set of new tires. Between the pushy salesman and dishonesty saying I need new rear brakes when I just had them done elsewhere, I'd never bring my car here again. New rattling noises coming from the front of my car since the installation is appreciated as well. read more

I never take the time or should I say have the spare time to write reviews whether good or bad on products or services received but in this case I just had to give credit and kudos where it is due. After over a months period of time getting the run around from another Mavis location, with absolutely no resolve, I took my car to the Hempstead Turnpike, Franklin Square location. I just want to give a big THANK YOU to Luis (manager) for being so knowledgeable, honest and professional and also any of his staff who may have worked on my car. Finally, every issue was addressed and resolved and finally got my car back the way it should have been handled in the first place. Take my advice if you want great service at a good price from honest people, for tires or any other services they offer, go to this location, even if you have to drive a little farther, it will be worth it, you will not be disappointed. The staff is attentive and competent. I have had service work done, brakes, oil changes, etc in addition to tire work and it was all done professionally and the car felt like new when they were done. I have had several tire issues over the last couple of months and they worked to help me get back on the road quickly and safely. I would recommend this store for any automotive work. read more

I've take my car here for years to have different things done and have always been happy with the pricing and service. However, there was an issue with a part on my car that was broken by the mechanic the last time I was there in Dec 2013. The folks at Mavis got in touch with me and compensated me for it. Prior to coming here a few years ago I had mixed experiences at various Mavis locations. I'm happy to say I've come here about a half dozen times since then and have always gotten good service for a fairly reasonable price.
