I brought my car in for an oil change. I usually wait around, but this shop gets busy--even if you arrive early. Unfortunately, there's not really a place to sit and wait, so I went home. About an hour and a half later, I got a call that my car was ready. Pretty standard timing, and the customer service was great! Also, they have a built-in candy shop! It's a lot of fun to browse all the different treats. They even have a birthday program and free popcorn. Just don't try to pay with the gold coins like I did! read more

I had to take the owner to court - after being a loyal cutomer for 7 years. Of course he was able to afford a lawyer. I had to represent myself. The owner refused to honor the warranty for a repair. The warranty that HE gave me. He got cute and tried to say it was a 3 year warranty (he thought I did not keep the original warranty) which was a 5 year warranty. He got slick and refused to honor the warranty. I asked to put the old part in the new box -- he refused. It's a red flag when a auto repair shop won't put the old part in the new box of the new part. They are hifing something and don't want you to see the new box. BEWARE: This shop does not honor warranties. Stay away or you wight end up in court like I did. read more

In the car industry it is difficult to find honest individuals. A lot of them do they to cheat you and cut corners to save themselves money. Bob Howard is the first and only mechanic I've put a lot of trust into. The people that run this shop treat me with nothing but respect. Very responsive and very courteous when working on our car. On top of that repair costs are very reasonable. Had 2 visits there his past week. Tuesday took my wife's car in for a tire issue. Although I did not have an appointment, they took care of it right away. 2 nail holes patched and in less than 1 hour I was on my way. The second visit, I too my suv there, had an appointment. I wanted them to check for a noise when I turned, my shocks and struts and remove old side steps. Ron was very professional... asked me when I wanted the car back.. and said barring anything major, it should be ready by then. He called, the shocks and struts were fine, side step removed and could not locate the noise. So for less than $70, I was done. I will most certainly return.... for the professional and honest way of dealing with my situation and to indulge in the delicious candies they sell there! The candies might be delicious, but check your cars after every service, you might be shocked to find out the coolant reservoirs fiully topped off to the neck with windshield washer fluid. Very scary. Never brought my cars again to Bobb Howard. read more

I called up on friday and spoke with Ronnie. Told him i need inspection and oil change taken care of... Usually since i lease i have been going to the dealership but my last visit to the dealership i wasnt happy...not to mention their prices super expensive and you are there all day waiting as if your in the ER... Ronnie made me an appointment for Monday at 10am. He said since it was my first time to come a few minutes earlier so he can put my info in the computer. When i arrived i forgot the gentlemans name but he took all my info and gave me a printout with the estimated prices for the vehicle. He asked when i needed it back by i told him an hour and he have me an hour and half to just be sure but if they get finished sooner i would get a call.. Sure enough i get a phone call from Mike at 1055 that the car is ready. I go in chat a little and pay. I was given a nice blue folder to keep my future papers in. When i went to get the car there was a little yellow note hanging with some scotch tape and a yellow mint. The chair had a plastic cover and the floor had a disposable mat. The note was adorable and truly a sweet touch. They VACUUMED the two front seats! And cleaned the windows. Such a really nice touch! Looking forward to my next oil change! read more

One of the Caucasian woman that owns the place picks and chooses who she wants to be nice to. I've seen her get nasty with people over parking spots when it just wasn't necessary to do so. Be kind to others- people are going through it right now no reason to make mountains out of mow hills. People will react based on your attitude. First time to Bobb Howard's Service Station; I have a 2013 Hyundai Sonata with a 150,000 miles on it. The radiator was leaking antifreeze and was advised to replace the radiator. Ronny gave me a written cost estimate and I returned to have it replaced. I was so thrilled with Ron and Mike with their Honesty and Professionalism and advice on parts and checking hoses and other items related to the service. When I picked up the car they went over in detail the final bill and advised me in writing as well verbally about other items I should look to repair eventually if I plan to keep the car. I had a oil change done and informed me of the brand of oil as well as the antifreeze because I like to keep extra on hand in the trunk if I need it. They covered the seat in plastic and covered the floor mats; Afterwards they washed the windows and vacuumed the seats! I will be going back soon for my next round of service! Went to Bobb Howards this morning as a walk-in for an inspection and oil change. Thankfully, due to previous appointments not showing up, they were able to get me in and out in an hour. Local mechanic by my job that was recommended by my Director. Went for an oil change and received a call from the mechanic with the additional work that could be done to my car. Now my car is a 2005 Nissan Sentra with over 200k miles on it, and his estimate of work to be done was the most fair priced estimate i had received to date. However, i only plan on keeping this car for a few more months until i finally move into something newer. To my surprise, the shop did not try to pressure me into spending more money on the work needed and was very understanding and even assumed that was probably the case but just wanted to let me know the work that was needed. I took my car here a day before Thanksgiving, and they were able to complete all the necessary services the day after Thanksgiving. My 11 year-old Infiniti car needed a lot of maintenance done and I didn't keep track of what was done before because another family member was using it. I asked for all services possible, and the shop called me back with a list of things needed to be replaced/repaired, which all made sense based on my vague memory of what I had ad-hoc serviced before. One pleasant surprise is that the shop recommended to skip a ~$100 transmission service because the mechanic checked online and found my car's milage is not up yet. After the service, I can feel the difference in driving - belts no longer squeak in damp weather, acceleration is smoother and I don't feel the road as much. Very happy with this shop and glad I found it. Edit: A month after the repair, I received a call from the shop checking in on how my car is doing. I have been to Bobb Howards service station a number of times since July to service my car and every time I am treated like family, all the employees are friendly and always willing to answer any questions i have about my car and the quality of work is one of a kind. I wish i found this service station 30 years ago., i won't think to go any where else. I went on Tue. Nov. 7th to have the Blend Door Actuator replaced on my car which requires the dashboard to be removed, to remove and reinstall the dashboard is a lot of work. There is a reason these folks have been around so long...they are terrific. Honest, reliable and very helpful. I usually go to a relative's shop out in Suffolk, but with my truck making a weird noise, and not wanting to have to call a tow, I decided to take it to them since I live so close by. They diagnosed the problem, called me to say what it was, the power steering system, and since I told them I had a relative in the business, they offered to top up the fluid so I could get it out to my relative in Suffolk. Such honesty! Instead I asked for an estimate which I found to be more than fair, so I had them go ahead and fix it. It was done by the end of the day and the price was to the penny I had been quoted! Excellent and they gave my husband a bag of candy in celebration of their anniversary. Let me put this plain and simple. Bobb Howards is a rare gem in the automotive repair industry. And what I mean by that is that they do whatever it takes to treat you like a valued customer, and they fix whatever is broken on your car for a reasonable price. Excellent customer service included several calls from Ronnie to ensure I was abreast of the status of the repair at all times. And here's my favorite part - I had taken my Ford Fusion to several other shops (Mavis, Meineke, and Ford themselves) to diagnose and fix a tricky suspension noise/issue, and all of the other shops replaced unnecessary and expensive components without fixing what I had reported as the issue. Bobb Howards on the other hand took care of EVERYTHING. I no longer want to drive this car off of a cliff :) Rather, I am now extremely satisfied and happy with the car.
