WELL. I took my car here for an inspection. They told me it failed for a few things- all of my brakes, one headlight and a ball joint. they quoted $1500-$1700. I took my car to get fixed somewhere else and planned to just bring it back for inspection. Turns out, the brakes were all more than fine, the ball joint and headlight were replaced and the place also did the inspection. all of the work they did was for a grand total of $224.. Really disappointed in the people who work here. I don't recommend it here, It's worth the drive somewhere else. It's slimy to price gouge like that AND lie about things being wrong just to make more commission. Do better. read more

The guys here were fantastic....We had a flat , second one in two days....we were three hours from home , we brought the car to Mavis and the guys had us out of there in 15 minutes.The store was old but clean and welcoming. We had my 7 year old grandson with us and he found that they have things in the waiting room to occupy small children . The dino coloring books were a plus! read more

Mavis Discount Tire (Pulaski, NY-Pulaski) ......... I do not recommend having any work done there. There is a very long history of shoddy work. Refused to patronize them for a long time following many issues with the work they perform. I, unfortunately, decided to give them a shot again, after a change in management and such, in hopes that the work ethic had improved. Well, guess what!!! Not only did it not improve but it became dramatically worse. If you drop your vehicle off and don't sit there to babysit your vehicle then your appointments are not honored ..... not even within the next 24 hours. Took one of my vehicles in for an alignment. After an inspection I was told they could not do an alignment as the vehicle needed tie rods. Repair was authorized by me. Tie rods replaced. Alignment done. Pick up vehicle...... truck is driving on the inside and outside edges of the steer tires. Return to Mavis the following week for re-alignment. Done. Truck still driving on just the edges of the tires. Return to Mavis a week later for re-alignment and tell them the toe and camber are out of whack. I am then told it has to be a shock issue. Need 4 shocks. I authorize repair. Pick up the truck.... told front shocks were good but had replaced rear shocks. Told alignment was good. Truck still riding on just the edges of the tires. At this point, I need to tell you that this truck does an average of 2500 miles per week so the damage to the tires is visible within 1 or 2 days. Return to Mavis a week later (the 4th visit for the same issue) Told them again the toe and camber are out of whack. Vehicle was dropped off each of these visits and not once was it ready anywhere near the time it was promised. This last visit the vehicle had not even been pulled into the shop 24 hours later. I picked up the vehicle without the repairs having been done. AT THIS POINT......... I HAVE 2 DESTROYED STEER TIRES, A BAD ALIGNMENT AND HAVE PAID FOR TIE RODS AND REAR SHOCKS THAT I AM NOT CERTAIN NEEDED REPLACEMENT. I will be following up with Mavis Corporate tomorrow but in the meantime..... BEWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM MAVIS PULASKI!!!!! read more

message: I wanted to give a "shout out" to Brian, Assistant Manager at the Pulaski Mavis Tire Store. I dropped my Nissan Murano off to renew the sate inspection. Brian called me to inform me my rear tires had failed the inspection. I figured they were getting close and needed replacing. Brian and his crew put four new tires on my vehicle. I driven it over a hundred miles since the new tires were installed and they feel great. I had an issue with codes not clearing so my vehicle would not pass until I drove it enough to clear the codes. I took my vehicle in this afternoon after driving the recommended miles Brian instructed. The codes had cleared and my vehicle passed the NY state inspection. I am very satisfied with the new tires Mavis installed on my vehicle and especially happy with the customer service Brian and his crew provided me at the Pulaski Mavis Tire Store! read more

Out for a weekend drive and realized we're in desperate need of an oil change. Yelp led us to this Mavis station. Well off the beaten path, we were very pleasantly surprised. All the bays were full but the manager fit us in quickly since we had our young twins in the car with us. We fed the babies in their small waiting room that had air conditioning. Major points. They needed to run out and get a filter since they didn't have the right one for my SUV. At check out he thanked me for allowing them to change my oil and my patience. Then I noticed he only charged me the car rate for our minor inconvenience. This is a very small auto care shop in a small town. But the service gets this place big props. read more

LIFESAVERS! I was driving down from Alexandria bay to NYC after a weekend of camping. I noticed my car was pulling to the left, so I stopped at a gas station to give my front left tire some air. THEN BAM my pressure valve came flying out giving me a flat tire. I googled a tire repair shop and this was the first one that came up with descent reviews. Not only did the employees at Mavis service me right away, but they didn't even charge me. They said that is was a simple pressure valve and it would only take 2 minutes (which was true). They had my car up and running within 5 mins and it survived the long trek back to NYC. If it wasn't for their generousness I would have been stranded hours from home. This type of service is something that you don't come across much anymore, and I would recommend their business ten fold to anyone in need of auto care! read more

After calling ahead for an oil change, I was told I could drop my SUV off and they would contact me when it was completed. I arrived at the shop at approximately the same time as two other customers. After waiting about 5 minutes, someone did come over to the counter. He helped the gentleman in front of me, and asked what the woman behind me needed and then just walked away. He continued to mill about but never addressed me. No, "Sorry sir, can you wait a moment" or "I'll be right with you". I've never seen the attendant before so I can't imagine why he might have a problem with me on a personal level. The whole thing was bizarre. I ended up just having to leave. read more
