I had to have work done on them in a different state, and Mari was extremely helpful in contacting that shop, discussing my warranty with them, and making sure that I was fully reimbursed. On October 24th, 2017 I called Goodyear Tire Service in Oswego, NY because my daughter who was in college had a battery light on in her car. I was concerned that if she drove the car much longer that she would be left stranded somewhere and me being 3 hours away would not be able to help her out. On October 20, 2017, my daughter took the vehicle to Goodyear Tire and was told that the battery in her car had a dead cell and would need to be replaced at a cost of $150.00. I spoke with the service technician and was concerned with his diagnosis because two months prior I had installed an Interstate battery which cost $119.00. He assured me that the battery had a dead cell and would not be able to be recharged. I became weary of this place because rarely do batteries die that quick. I instructed the service technician to take the vehicle out immediately and had my daughter through Facetime install a new battery from Wal-Mart at a cost of $100.00. She then drove the vehicle back to school with the battery light still on. I went down that night and installed a new alternator in her 2003 Dodge Neon which ended up being the problem. My complaint is that Goodyear tried to upsell my daughter for a battery she didn't need. Any good auto mechanic knows that it is highly unlikely that a battery would die after 2 months. There is typically only three things that will cause a vehicle to lose power, battery (brand new) belts and alternator. Had they charged her battery that was already in her car took a voltage meter on the battery which I did they would known that the real problem was the alternator. I had the two month old battery checked at two Advanced Auto Locations and both came back stating the battery was good. I recharged the battery and it has been working ever since. The problem now is I have a battery I can not return and I am out $100.00 because of their upsell. They knew my daughter was in college and that I was 3 hours away and they tried to take advantage of the situation. Had they have been honest, they could have gotten the work for the new alternator which would have been over $400 dollars I reported them to the BBB and Goodyear Corporate called me and said they would refund me the money for new battery if I could show proof that the battery was good. Ran around got a test report with pictures of the old battery being tested along with a print out of the battery reading good battery. Sent that over to them and they still were not convinced that the battery was good. Told them I would bring the battery to them and they accepted. Before I could bring them the battery to them they called back and said that this test wouldn't work because it wasn't in the vehicle. I told them they would be in luck, because I put the old battery back in the car. They paused then said that still wouldn't be good and they wouldn't refund me the money for the new battery that I didn't need. To me, this is the classic upsell place that don't take the time to properly diagnose what is actually wrong with your vehicle. read more

I purchased a used car in November of 2014. Everything was great until I had a check engine light come on. Brought it to Goodyear and the light decided to turn off the day before my appointment (go figure). They fixed a trailer harness short and called me to say everything was OK. Picked it up and I saw an airbag light on. Went back inside to let them know and they refused to help. Said it wasn't their fault and it was just due to the weather (was in the teens the week prior, the day I was there, the temp was high 30s low 40s) They would not admit that they did anything wrong. I was left to figure it out on my own. I have to now bring it somewhere else because they refused to help. The service manager was rude and gave me horrible attitude. Very upset. read more
