I do not recommend taking your car here for service. I needed a starter for my car and was quoted $750 for just the part. Before I told them to install it I did some research and found that the part only cost $200. When I called Mavis back to question why there was a 300% markup I was told quote " if I don't charge more how will I make any money". Not only is that unprofessional but it's also taking advantage of ppl who don't look into the company that's supposed to help them. After I discussed my issue I was told to get a quote from another shop. I did and it was $450, that was with parts and labor. When I gave Mavis the quote from the other shop they agreed to do it for that price. Don't go through the hassle of using Mavis and go somewhere else. read more

I absolutely recommend this place. They're kind, quick, and skilled mechanics. We were on a road trip and realized our car was leaking oil, partway into the drive, on a Sunday late afternoon. Their earliest appointment was five days out but nevertheless they had us come in, they immediately pulled the car into the bay, they identified the problem, they made it so we'd be able to get through the rest of the drive, and told us what part we needed to get fixed when we made it to the destination. I am giving two stars because I know they are extremely busy right now! But here was my experience...I have ALWAYS used Mavis recommend Mavis to my family members and friends who did start and will now not use them after what they did to my mother in laws car who they had to replace her whole engine but that's her review to tell not mine. BUT I STILL WENT BACK because I am a loyal customer and I trusted my Mavis location always! They have always fixed anything with my cars in the past I have spent GRANDS at this place!!! I had an issue with my car I take it in and let them know what I know/think it is and they confirm I was correct. Part will be there in two days and will fix it all up. First day I called to let them know this part is covered under my warranty company here's the number bam done can you call me back and let me know what's going on and which day we are looking at he says sure I'll call you right back after I talk to the warranty people ...first day no call back. Second day 12pm I again have to call he says we need a paper signed before we can start the work on the car ok can you email it to me I have no car you have my car sure call you back in five minutes...no call at this point I have to be back at work and had planned the next day to be there at 7:45am to let them know my car needs to be done TODAY and I need to know what the heck is going on since no one informed me anything...I arrive and he states your car is done...oh good to know. I get home and I receive a phone call with them telling me I owe them money for the deductible on the total....I pay extra for this warranty and I have a ZERO DEDUCTIBLE!!! Called my warranty company and they already paid it all and verified I have no deductible...point of this review is the customer should not be put through more stress than already all the stress and work missed over car issues esp when most car issues aren't covered and it's more than rent!!! We shouldn't have to do any of the work that the company should be doing!!! I will not be returning to this company ever again I will not recommend Mavis to anyone ever again!!!!!! Was in from out of town and was dropping a friend off in the area when my car starting making an odd noise in the right front tire area. Mavis was the only place in town open Saturday morning. They happily took a ride with me a couple different times and had two mechanics take a look. I had just had my car in for inspection and repair at a different mechanic out of town. Spent over $3,000 so I was pretty upset. The guys a Mavis took a look, while they were unable to locate the problem for me, they were able to assure me that my tire/wheel would not fall off. After I got back home another trusted mechanic found the issue and told me it was something that was difficult to find but the Mavis guys were right, wasn't dangerous. I loved that even though they couldn't fix it they were willing to take a look at it for no charge. They were extremely friendly. read more

So once again I took a truck for inspection and emissions. Dropped it off the night before, was told it would be done the next day. At 12:00 noon I went past their shop and truck had not moved. Okay I am sure they are busy, but they close at 6:00 pm so should be good right? Called at 3:00 pm to check on the status, was told it was next in line and would be done in an hour and a half. Stopped at the shop at 4:45 pm truck still sitting where I parked it the night before. Went in to see what was up, every bay is open, not one service guy working on anything because they are all to busy in the Snap-On truck. Manager tells me as soon as they get out it will be getting done. At 5:45 pm I call, because they close at 6:00 pm, and I am told the inspection is done but could not do emissions because the odometer wasn't working in the truck. I call bullshit, cause you need to see it for the inspection sticker to be filled out, and as every auto mechanic knows that if you reach down and tap the glass it will come on because it is a short in the plug behind the dash. How do I know this, because one of their mechanics told me this the last time it was in for inspection. Now none of this would have been a big deal, EXCEPT when I ask why no one called me I was told that they did and left a voicemail for me. That's funny because my cell phone and my land line were sitting right next to me and never rang. Look it is one thing to not get done with what your contracted to do, it is another to LIE TO YOUR CUSTOMER!!! Never again will I bring a car to Mavis Tire in Schnecksville PA for anything. Very disappointed! My husband made an appointment for the last day of the month to get his truck inspected. This appointment was made at least a week in advance. He took his truck in about an hour before his appointment time to stop it off, and they told him that they couldn't inspect it because they had too many cars to inspect already. What's the point of making an appointment if walk-ins take priority over you? Poor business practice. We won't be giving anymore of our business to Mavis! read more

Had an appt. for 10:30 for an oil change on 6/24/20 didn't get a call all day from them, I called at 6 ( was told there computers were out, so that's why they didn't call) , 3 days later my oil light came on ( I thought it was a sensor issue) then with a car full of groceries my car wouldn't go past 30mph. I pulled off the side of the road & called my husband to get me ( I was afraid to drive it) called Mavis & they said to check the oilbthat there may not be any oil in it..WAIT,WHAT my car was just there 3 days ago. When my husband arrived we checked oil, BONE DRY! We had to take our other vehicle to get oil, I video taped it all!! Then dropped it off at Mavis, they couldn't work on it till the next day. Our mechanic said we should get something in writing saying that they should cover us for 6,000 miles in case damage was done while I was driving without oil!!! They refused, told us to call corporate Monday, I did and no one called me back, I called Tuesday am got a call back from regional manager Tony who said it was their mistake but would NOT put anything in writing to cover our engine! He said he could give us refund on oil change, NO REFUND has occurred , I left a message yesterday 7/1/20 no call back, called today 7/2/20 try to leave a message but his voicemail is full! AWFUL!SHAMEFUL! I gave them plenty of opportunities to make this right before I left a review & they DIDN"T! NOW I will share on every social media platform I can!!! read more

Got 4 new tires put on my truck as a walk in. They got it done within 90 minutes, which was good. Price about $1050 all in which I thought was reasonable. The problems: 1) they inflated the tires to 36 psi instead of the recommended 39. I noticed this a few days later when my mileage was way down. How can they f this up? They do tires all day long!!!! 2) the day after they put the tires on, I noticed my parking brake cable hanging down slightly. I called mavis and they said they were sure they didn't do that. I never even use the parking brake. I guess it's coincidence that one day after they had it on the lift and put 4 tires on the parking brake cable was hanging down - just coincidence I'm sure.... Also they put white balancing stickon weights on black rims. Was thinking hoping they had something darker to be less conspicuous. Overall, they get to u quick and pricing is ok, but there doesn't seem to be much quality or pride in service or desire to follow up to make things right. Maybe other locations are better? read more

Car inspected March 30, 2019, had brakes fixed for inspection. May 12, 2019, WHEEL FELL OFF! Tow truck operator said if the lug nuts were on properly this should not happen. Of course when we looked back at the bill from inspection, they cover their butt by saying "need to bring it back to check lug nuts after 25 miles." If you do the job right in the first place, you shouldn't have to bring it back. Something's wrong with a tire place that can't properly tighten a lug nut. read more

Mavis does not value their customers. Wait times are ridiculous. I took my car to get inspected with an appointment on a Saturday and it wasn't finished until late monday. Why allow online appointments if you don't honor them? If you take your vehicle there, know it will sit for days before they get to it. I had a app for a inspection and sat there for almost 3 hrs and that was with a app. Plus i needed nothing for inspection i could only imagine if i needed something. I took my van there for 2 new front tires only, nothing else. While I was waiting for my tires to be changed out. One of the mechanics came in and stated that the mechanic working on my van noticed that a few things needed to be done. They had a list of 3 things, costing about $200 each. Those 3 things were found under the hood of my car, which I did not ask them to check for, just to change my tires. My van had just been at my mechanic a few weeks prior and nothing Mavis mentioned, was mentioned to me by my mechanic, who had done work under the hood. Magically 2 days later my check engine light comes on and now my van sits in my driveway because I can't get it to start. They could be the last mechanics on earth and I would not take my van or any other car there ever again! read more
