the guy that looks like jared from subway broke my tire sensor and tried to make me pay for it. I needed one tire fixed because of a bulge forming in sidewall, so I brought it into the shop thinking it would be a quick fix, they take the tire off and put a new one on. Before handing them my keys, I checked my tire sensors to see my tire pressure (yk cause my tire was broken) and it gave me a reading. Halfway through "jared" tells me all of my sensors need to be replaced and I called his bs because I just checked them. Then he told me the tire being fixed had the sensor broken off free dangling in there. He said I got still got a reading because it could still transmit, which makes no sense. There is reason to suspect this man broke my sensors so I would pay for them. DO NOT TRUST "Jared". Keep your children away from him and especially do not let him touch your car. read more

Steve at Mavis Tire was incredibly helpful to us this week. We were driving from Long Island back to Connecticut and noticed the car was shaking at high speeds. We pulled off the highway and saw that our BMW had a missing lug nut on one of the tires. I googled it and determined that it was very dangerous to drive a car with a missing lugnut. I searched the internet for the nearest tire store and came up with Mavis in Thornwood NY. We met Steve there and he handled it beautifully. He didn't have a BMW lug nut so he ordered one from another Mavis. They delivered it right away and he and his staff serviced and checked the car to make sure it was safe to drive. We were out of there in under an hour. The best part- he didn't charge us! Thank you so much Steve!! You saved us! read more

Staff was very nice and helpful came in needing some tire replacements. Worked with Cecile, Richard and David. All were very polite and helpful although it seemed like they were having some system issues and trouble understanding procedures. I was a frustrated with the fact that we checked online saying that our tires were in stock but when we arrived they said they needed to order them and told us they would call when they came in. After waiting all day I never heard from them so I decided to call them myself. The tires did arrive but they were closing soon so they weren't able to help us until the next day. Next day we came in they started working on the car everything seemed fine. I was again frustrated because it seemed like they didn't understand what they needed to do with the tires. I almost was charged for an alignment even though they ended up not doing it. And now I've Discovered that one of the caps on our tires are also missing so overall not very satisfied with the service. read more

Being that it was an old car, 1998 Toyota Camry, I wanted to make sure that the car was safe for my 18 year old to drive. Our car left with serious mechanical issues that it didn't have going in. They failed to also identify simple things that needed replacement and maintenance. The car was left in an unsafe condition that required hundreds more in repairs. This place proved to be a total disaster. They took our money, and left us in a dangerous situation. Vaughn and everyone at the Mavis in Thornwood were exceptional. My family and I got a flat tire in Ossining (traveling through NY to CT) mid-afternoon on a 90 degree + day. The Mavis in Ossining - 4 miles from where we were stopped - refused you accommodate us (out of staters, with two elderly family members and a five year old) on the day we got the flat and the following morning. Luckily we got in touch with Vaughn and he was able and willing to help us the following morning. He and the others were professional, courteous, kind, and knowledgeable. The waiting area was clean and my 5 y.o. was able to watch cartoons to keep her occupied. If you are in the general Ossining area, don't waste your time with the Mavis in Ossining. Go straight to the Mavis in Thornbrook and find Vaughn. read more

Absolute fraudsters. Thornwood, NY location. I urge anyone reading this to go anywhere else. I paid for 4 snow tires upfront. When I returned to get my vehicle, only two tires were put on. The other two had to be ordered and they would call me when they arrived. Annoying... but fine. Three weeks later, no call. I call and call only to be told the old manager (Paul) who was great had been fired, but the new manager would call me back. New manager Never did. Finally got through and this waste of life new manager who told me I'm stuck with two snow tires along with the charges for alignment and balancing, and that I'd have to go find the other two tires somewhere else. When I asked to return the two tires they refused. Having two snow tires is like having one shoe. It's useless. These guys are the worst. At least the Thornwood, NY location. These guys are busy enough as it is, but since it is such a rare thing to find reliable and honest mechanics, I feel that I should spread the word on Corsi Tire. If I could get all my services done at Corsi, I would. These are my go-to guys for balancing and alignments - they use quality Hunter machines and they are good at it. Full balance is less than $50 for all four wheels and an alignment is no more than $100 (and usually $80 if you have a simpler AWD system or only 2WD). They provide before-and-after alignment settings without asking. They can also get you several brands of tires not listed on their website (such as Continentals) if you call ahead, for a good price. Mounting and balancing is included with tire purchases. You can bring in our own parts if you want to install performance brakes or suspensions, and they'll quote you an honest labor estimate. Their labor rate is $80 per hour and they provide reasonable billed hours for the work they provide. Their rate is a deal given Corsi's quality. The guys here listen well and are honest. I brought in a car asking for an alignment because it was pulling left, and an hour later I was shown the alignment settings; they were as good as stock, and the guy recommended I take a look at the steering rack. Furthermore, he didn't charge me anything for the diagnosis. read more

My first experience at Mavis was a positive one I had brought two Michelin cross country tires and rims off the vehichal to be mounted for the winter I remove the tires from the vehicle I also power wash them inside out so that they have a nice clean surface to install the adhesive balancing weights The first time they charged me $53 and I gave the installer a eight dollar tip three days later I returned dropped off 2 more tires and picked them up today. To my horror the rims were gouged down to the bare metal they didn't even bother to clean off any of the old weight tape It looked like they use a hammer and chisel to remove the existing weights one of the weights is so close to the outside of the rim I'm positive it will soon fall off this time the price went from $53-$86 Dollars. I pointed out the damage to the manager And he took me into the shop and showed me all the rims have those kind of damaged I'm 65 years old I've had hundreds of tires changed and I've never in my life seen such shotty workmanship in my entire life I will never go to Mavis tire store ever again! Anybody that sitting in the waiting room is just a sucker sure they don't even change the fluids and you're probably paying for things you don't need my advice is go to the dealer you may pay a little more but I've learned a valuable lesson. Unfortunately my old tire shop closed up due to heavy competition. The manager told me this is his second week he looked about 20 years old I told him I've forgotten more than you know. I'm lucky enough to on a dodge hellcat a BMW 750 a BMW six series a Chevy SS a dodge ram 2500 And the VW diesel Taurog. Chris, the tech, and Cecil, the manager, couldn't have been nicer or more professional -- I came in needing to have the tired "torqued" after having had them installed at the Mt. Kisco location. I needed a bulb for a headlight also, which they fixed and did all the work in about half an hour. I was a walk in (the Kisco location is smelly, and dirty -- littered with newspapers a week old). Honest. Did everything asked, in my case snow tire changeover and NYS inspection, with high quality. Customer service was excellent. An honest time estimate when I called beforehand. Once I arrived and the place was slightly busy, I was told that I was next and it was true! No-one tried to sell me unnecessary services. This is the highest priced mechanic in all of town. They do have a great selection of tires, but the problem is that their expensive and the price of labor costs more than the tires itself. The wait time was a disaster. The place was crowded and I had to wait 5 hours just to change four tires that I ended up paying $800 Don't get your car serviced here. The price of labor and parts are more expensive than other mechanics. It was an expensive and bad experience because of long wait time. read more

My 23-year-old brought his car here for his New York State inspection. The guy inspected his tires and informed him that the tread looked "fine" but that since his tires were more than five years old, he wouldn't be able to pass him. He was then quoted a price for four new tires. Luckily, my son has a good B-S meter and he told the guy he'd think about it and left. He promptly took his car to the dealer where he easily passed the inspection with his existing tires. There's absolutely NOTHING in the New York inspection requirements relating to AGE of tires and it is appalling to me that this Mavis employee mis-represented New York State law in order to make a sale. And, as far as courtesy, time consideration, professionalism, and communication, this Mavis facility was leaps and bounds beyond any other facility I've been to, myself being a long time customer of Mavis. The initial mechanic I spoke with earlier in the day was also stand-up. It's nice to have a pleasing experience at the traditionally frustrating forum of car maintenance facilities. NEVER AGAIN! They stripped ALL my lug nuts with a wheel balancing service. Luckily I had to take the car to Subaru for an unrelated issue a few weeks later and Subaru wouldn't let me drive the car out because it was unsafe! They had to order all new lug nuts and put me in a loaner car. I contacted MAVIS customer service by email and NEVER received a response. Then I decided to dispute the charge with my credit card company because there was NO WAY I was paying for them to screw up my vehicle. I had to purchase new lug nuts from Subaru. Initially the credit card company sided with Mavis stating that I signed a statement accepting the car and agreeing to pay for the service. I disputed this decision based on the fact that I had the damaged lug nuts and how would I know otherwise that they didn't do the job correctly? So fortunately the ultimate decision was that I got a refund for the Mavis bill and I will NEVER take my car to them for anything ever again. Not only did they screw up at the shop, but their customer service sucks. They should've responded immediately and apologized. BAD SERVICE in every way. read more
