Had a major tire puncture west of The ATL, and got off at the first exit. Pulled into a gas station, and lo and behold, Mavis was right next door. So Damn Lucky (DMB)!! If I could give ZERO stars, I would! We paid for an oil change and asked them to top the fluids. 4 days later, my car had no oil, no transmission fluid, and the transmission is blown. We reached out to the corporate office and Marcus said it was our fault. We're currently facing eviction because we can't get to work because our car is down. We don't have the extra money to fix the problem they created. Then, we look online and it turns out that Mavis as a brand has been known to be negligent. I'm definitely seeking legal action. All we wanted them to do was make it right. This is the letter I wrote to them: Mavis Corporation. To whom it may concern, on Monday, June 10, 2024, we brought our 2014 Chevrolet Sonic in for an Oil change at 45 Market Place Dr in Newnan, GA 30265. Upon the visit, it was suggested that we change two tires and we were informed that a radiator hose was improperly connected. We allowed the shop to service our car and they also checked all the fluids on our vehicle and topped us off. During the week, we drove the car very minimally, but we noticed a sound when we drove that sounded mechanical, nearly like a "Power Wheels" car. We took the car back to the same location on Friday, June 14, 2024 and asked them to inspect it. The mechanic said it was nothing wrong. Later that day, our car begun emitting white smoke from the tail pipe and from under the hood, resulting in our inability to go to work. Facing job loss due to lack of transportation, we decided to call a mechanic. The mechanic confirmed that our car had no oil, no transmission fluid, and no coolant. According to the invoice from the Newnan Mavis location, all the fluids were topped off. The mechanic has diagnosed our car to be immobile due to no transmission fluid which has destroyed the transmission fully. This has placed my family in a major bind. We do not have $2,500 to purchase a new transmission and quite frankly, the damage was not our fault. We have never had a problem with our transmission, no leaks, no issues at all. We are requesting that you cover the cost of repairs for the damage to our car due to the negligence of your mechanics. On March 7th, I sent my son ,in my stead, for a 9 am new tire and install appointment at Mavis Tires & Brakes. He declined the extended warranty as I directed since a brand new tire of the quality ,which Mavis Tire & Brakes website boasts about, wouldn't need an extended warranty. Silly me. One week and two days later, on March 16th, I wake up to the picture below...My brand new tire completely flat. I had my husband and son inspect it for injury after they removed it and put the spare on. They found none. I drove the car to Mavis, assuming that good customer service and merchandise quality, would ensure that this new tire would be immediately replaced as it was clearly defective. I was assured that the problem would be addressed as I waited. The front desk man informed me that if there was an injury found on the tire that it would have to be at the center of the tire and not the outer portion ... if it was in the center of the tire they could replace it and if the injury was on the outer side then they wouldn't be able to touch it. I'm assuming now that he told me this because he assumed I had the so called extended warranty although that was not communicated at the time. The front desk man came to check in with me twice while I waited in order to update me. The first update was that the tech had placed the tire in the water bath and saw no sign of damage and the second update was to say that he instructed the tech to put the tire in the tank in order to completely verify that there was no damage. A while later both the front desk man and the store manager came into the waiting room to state that a tear had been found in the tire after all! In a spot , on the outer side of the tire, that disqualified the tire from being replaced free of charge. How convenient and I mean that with the FULLEST sense of sarcasm I can muster. They both made sure to emphasize that had I purchased the extended warranty for the brand new tire that then they could've done something more for me. The manager said he could give me a new tire at a vastly discounted rate and charge me that discounted purchase amount plus cost of install in order for this problem to be resolved. If you're counting....this is now tire number two that I am purchasing from Mavis in the span of a little more than a week. My husband complained as well and to no avail. In the interest of time, I agreed to pay the discounted price for the tire and install. Drove out of Mavis and headed to work. After working a full day, I headed home, like many people do! Heading south on i85, in the fast lane, I hear a pop. Strange right? Then my wheel starts shaking and my car begins to swerve...I am luckily able to pull over to the right. I get out of my car and what do I see????? My new tire... FLAT AGAIN (photo included below). So here I sit on the side of the road while my husband changes a new tire again and puts on the spare. This was DANGEROUS and NEGLECTFUL and MAVIS is FORTUNATE THAT I WAS NOT INJURED OR WORSE and THAT OTHER INNOCENT DRIVERS WERE NOT INJURED. New tires don't deflate after a week and mysteriously have an injury appear after several close examinations nor do new tires (less than hours old mind you) burst without provocation. Mavis is responsible for this oversight and they WILL correct this and I will be seeking further consolation and consideration from other parties. Update: I was contacted by Darrel, the regional manager, the morning of Wednesday March 17th. He was apologetic, an excellent listener and most importantly EMPATHETIC. He asked me to go to the other Mavis location on 45 Market place drive in Newnan to re-evaluate and make the situation right. I did so. I received a brand new tire of better quality then the one installed the day before. Hector and Eddie were polite, attentive and professional. When Eddie pulled my car back up I asked him one question "is it safe now?" And he responded "yes, ma'am, I would let my own wife drive this car with my child in it. It's safe". And that is what I needed to hear after the horrific event that had occurred the day before. Empathy is everything. Thank you to Eddie, Hector, Darell and Pat S. for escalating and making this right. I will NEVER visit the bullsboro location again (haven't heard from them at all actually nor do I wish to), but I will gladly go to the market place drive location. read more

They replaced the tire sensors (I did not ask for this but paid for it) also at 63 mph the tires shake as if unbalanced(new). This is the worst example of an establishment. The technicians and management could care less about customers. After taking my truck back for correcting their mistake, I was told, "we did not find anything wrong". I asked what they tried and they only drove it a mile and said nothings wrong. I asked them over the phone to try something else. They agreed. I arrived at Kauffman 2.5 hours later to find that they had done NOTHING! I told them I was taking my business elsewhere and they said "Ok. Have a good evening". I would NEVER encourage anyone to take business to this place. This is the worst I have ever seen in my life. I really want to warn everyone, DO NOT GO HERE. The morons that they have employed there are inept as it gets. My husband bought four new tires for my car because we are in a situation where he has to work in Florida and I am home alone and he wanted to make sure I had a safe mode of transportation to take care of myself in his absence. After initially driving my car after receiving the new tires it felt very "off". It was vibrating IMMENSELY in the front end to the point that it was nearly hopping and the car insisted on trying to pull me off the road into the ditch. Long story short, upon further troubleshooting it was found that the tires were EXTREMELY over inflated. My front tires are supposed to have 32 lbs of air, they put 55 lbs of air. Yes you read that right fifty-freaking-five. The rear tires were also grossly over inflated, but wait it gets better! My husband left for Florida and I am here alone. I come out of the house to go get something to eat and guess what! Yep my front formerly over inflated tire is FLAT. Evidently they damaged it by over inflating it or only God knows what else. So as I write this I am stranded until I can figure something else out. My husband called Kauffman and they will not come help me. I guess they have their money for the set of tires and that's all they wanted. If you value your loved ones and peace of mind, dont go to this store! read more

A week ago I took my car to get an alignment and my rear brakes done. I was told that they could do this same day and would not be a problem. I had a trip planned for leaving that night. So if there was any chance that it could not be done that day, I would have done this the day I came back from the trip. Well, I get a call stating that they needed to pick up parts for my car so it would be ready later in the day, and I was fine with that. Then I get a call stating that "the nuts were not reusable, so they won't be able to get me the car back until the next day....even though they already made a trip to pick up parts. This is something they should have known. Ok, I caused a little fuss since this cost me time and money on my trip, ya know for the night I missed. So I caused a little fuss and they gave me a very very little discount. Even though these nuts added an extra 50 bucks onto my bill. When I leave the shop, I noticed my brake on my rear passenger side "squealing" when I brake. This did not go away, So I took my car back on a day that I was not working. They were booked and could not get to my car that day, So I decided to go another day. BOY WAS THAT A BAD MISTAKE!!!! I took my car out that night and when I was on my way back home, my brake pedal went straight to the floor and I had practically no power. My car would still stop, but it was very slow. I tried my E-brake, because this was an EMERGENCY...and I believe that is what the "E" in "E-brake" stands for. It was not working. It did not grab 1 bit. Now, I thought when you get your rear brakes done, rotors and pads. they should check the Ebrake since that is directly impacted by the rear brakes. Sadly, as I found out today (5/21/2018) I was "WRONG". I did make it home that night relatively safely. As I pull into the driveway, I noticed a spot where I normally park, where my rear driver side tire usually is. But now I had to figure out a way to get my brakes working. The next day I inspected my car, and noticed a brake fluid all over the inside of my driver side tire. I checked the brake fluid, it was empty. I then add brake fluid and bleed my brakes and there was tons of air in there. Finally I get some brake pressure and take my car up to kauffman, they could not check out my car that day which was understandable but they would check out my the next day. I was perfectly fine with that. I get a call stating that the brake cylinder was busted and needed replacing. I asked what that would cost, they say around 200 bucks. I was not happy, I asked if they checked out my Ebrake and why that was not working. They had no clue, they did not check it out. I asked shouldn't have been working, and shouldn't they have checked out my ebrake when they did my rear brakes, The manager, Josh, told me "no, we don't do that". Now lets be clear, before, my ebrake was working FINE! but now it does not work. And he says this is not related. I do not think so! So please, be cautious, This could have cost me and my gf our lives. This could have cost someone else their lives. This happened in the middle of driving. There is no way, that my ebrake should have not been working! The cylinder I can maybe accept; however, not the ebrake! The cylinder is even suspicious that right after they work on my brake that I have problems braking. I asked about the squealing and he said it was because my right side was working harder because the left side was not working...well this happened right after leaving kauffman the first time! read more

We got a patch job along the way, but knew it wouldn't be enough to get us home safely. Luckily, we found Mavis Tires & it was even close to our hotel! I went to this particular tire store due to its location and they had the tires i wanted for my truck, I thought the manager was cordial, tires were installed with no issues, but i had also requested an alignment with the new tires. The truck was on the alignment rack, the manager came to me and said i needed inner and outer tie rods, they were worn out bad. So they showed me how the tire moved when they grabbed it at 9 and 3 clock positions. I inspected the front end and found no play in the suspension parts, when i held the opposite tire stationary, when they attempted to check for looseness, i could feel every push and pull. I explained, there is nothing wrong here. Then they could not do the alignment due to a frozen adjuster nut, which i loosened when i got home. I have been repairing vehicles professionally for over 45 years, i am a ASE master Certified technician, re certified 5 times over, i also hold many other certifications, held many high profile positions in the automotive aftermarket for fortune 500 companies, certified Trainer, and the list of my credentials far outnumber most technicians today, with a back ground in Electrical engineering and automotive systems. I thought maybe the manager would have thought first when i mentioned to him that i have experience in automotive, suspension and front end alignment, but not necessarily my primary area of expertise. thanks Brian W. I've purchased several sets of tires at this location when it was Kauffman Tire (now Mavis Discount Tire) My wife had a blow out and we called them at 5:00 pm to see if they could replace the tire. My wife went up there by herself and they did not treat her as if she didn't know anything. They told her they could get it taken care of right then and there, and they did. Even staying after hours to complete the work. When I pulled the tire off, I just through everything in the back of the van...the technician took everything (tools, jack, spare) and re-seated it all in the storage spot where it came from. That was something I was honestly expecting to have to take care of once I got home. The sales person and the tech were both great and had great spirits about the situation. read more

Had a nail in my tread and stopped by the store today to have it repaired. Staff was friendly and even though they were busy they pulled the vehicle into the bay to begin. They have a well stocked waiting area so after an episode of Forensic Files and a free coke I was on my way - free of charge. Great Job Thomas and crew. After the "courtesy" inspection.. recommended new shocks and brake pads. Only problem.... they were all replaced last October at another service center. Clearly unethical, do not use this business. Bought my 3rd set of tires from this location in Newnan, Ga when it was still Kauffman Tire. Staff was friendly but took Mavis 2.5 hours to fix a flat tire. (only 2 people in the waiting room besides myself) Charged me over $30 to fix a flat and didn't rotate my tires after being assured they would 'take care of it"... In addition, they left greasy hand prints on my cloth seat and door. They offered to clean up the grease but said I would have to wait for the rotation. Told them I had already waited 2.5 hours for just a tire patch and I had to go to work. This is the 3rd bad experience since Mavis took over... no more for me. read more
