My favorite parts are a few things: 1) ease of scheduling. Their website is easy to schedule, select specific services and coordinate with the shop; 2) their service advisors aren't trying to rip you off or push you to buy something. They provide recommendations and tell you facts, but the weren't trying to sell snake oil, or things outside the owners manual maintenance guidance. 3) Prices are fair, reasonable, and everything is explained upfront. We've lived in Montgomery for about 6 months, and it's always hard to find a place to trust after moving to a new place. I distrust dealerships and won't take my cars there anymore. I'm super glad we found this place. I'll be coming back to bring my other vehicles when service is needed! The great thing too, they do service on Diesel trucks as well, something that's harder and harder to come by.

For the coolant flush, I said my engine doesn't overheat and he said 'it doesn't until it does'. And then he turned the computer screen towards me and said this is your service record and the car company can see that you aren't servicing your vehicle and that can affect your warranty. He said I have a lot of miles on it and it needs to be done. So I agreed to have it done for another $150. I asked if there was a discount for get that and the oil change and he said he could give me 25% off. That is not the discount I received. Additionally, they are supposed to do a few service things like topping off your fluids and checking the air in your tires. They only poured about a half an inch of washer fluid in so it appeared to be filled. I only noticed because I was jumping a car later that day and saw the level. I have a picture. It was nearly empty before so I knew they barely put anything in. They never checked the tire pressure or anything else. The oil change line item indicates individual bottles were used when they weren't. They used oil from a big vat with minimal labeling showing the weight. Based on my experience here and what I later found out, I don't believe they are using the 'upgraded' oil they claim to be. NOTICE: My major complaint is that I mentioned the service I had done to someone that is familiar with cars and they asked if Take 5 put the correct coolant back in or just the regular kind. Ram puts a specific coolant (OAT) in at the factory and it doesn't need to be flushed for 10 yrs or 100k miles. I look at the invoice and see the coolant used. I looked it up and it is not the correct coolant. It is light duty (AFC) coolant; the regular cheap kind. Upon further reading, is see that mixing these 2 coolants can cause it to gel in the cooling system and if you have issues and the shop sees the regular coolant in there, they can void your warranty. *Remember this when they are 'topping off your fluids!!! So not only are they scaring people into unnecessary services, and overcharging them, they are potentially causing warranty voiding damage to vehicles. I had to go to Ram and get the coolant chemically flushed out of my practically new van and have the correct one put back in. This cost $237. Additionally, on the Take 5 invoice they charge you a service fee that is stated so far down on the sign, in tiny letters, that you can't actually see it from the car you are sitting in. (the pic provided is from outside the vehicle when I was there trying to file a complaint) And they charged for 'extra oil needed' which if you look it up, they charge every car since barely any cars only take 5 qts of oil with an oil change anymore. This was not stated to me at all. Even though the computer tells them how much oil to put in, they say nothing until you see it on the bill. My bill was $279.21 with the 'discount' and I wasn't even provided half the services stated. I'm sure this is every one of these Take 5 oil change places because they seemed immuned to my concerns and complaints. I did call the 'claims dept' and start a claim but based on other business board reviews, I will be shocked if they actually contact me. Still no contact since Monday 8/17/26. Regardless, people's vehicles need to be protected even if there's nothing to be done about the other shady practices.
