Just moved to town and--of course--got a nail in my tire on the way to my new job. I stopped into Mavis Tires & Brakes and met Jimmy, the GM. I explained I couldn't get the tire patched right away, but asked if it could be done during my lunch break. Jimmy didn't hesitate--he told me to swing by, and they'd have it done in 20 minutes or less, no appointment needed. Sure enough, I came back, and Jimmy got my Jeep in immediately with Jonathan. Jonathan was quick, efficient, and knew what he was doing. The whole experience was excellent--friendly, professional, and fast. I'll be back for any future service needs. It's been two and a half weeks since the Mavis driver crashed my car into another customer's car. I've given them the estimate from my body shop. They have all my contact information. Every day that passes without my car being fixed just adds to my frustration. It's a shame, too, because Mavis USED to be the tire shop I would refer all my friends to. I needed new tires and although Mavis(formerly Savannah Tire) is my go to place for oil changes I have never used them for anything else. After doing research and comparing prices at several different places including my dealership I settled on Mavis. I normally frequent the one on Mall Blvd but because the Mexican restaurant next door(my usual waiting spot)is temporarily closed I opted to visit the one closer to home. I scheduled my appointment for 3:00 on a Monday. I received a call from Mavis a few days before my appointment asking me what time I planned on arriving. I was a little confused by the question because I literally made an appointment so in my mind I'm thinking, that's when I'm going to be there. I confirmed my time and ended the call. So it's now Monday afternoon and I arrive at Mavis around 3:05. I head inside and wait for my turn at the counter. Of course they tried to up sell me and the managers special was pretty tempting but I opted out of it. I got my final price and was told to have a seat. When I asked how long the wait would be I was told, "shouldn't be too long we don't have many cars today". Well it's now 2 hours later and I'm still waiting for my car to be ready. When I approached the counter to find out how much longer the wait would be I was told about 30 more minutes or so. Nearly 3 hours later and my car is finally ready. I won't be back. read more

Didn't even get it done My car has been to this place three times usually takes a little longer than you think it should but usually gets done but today That's not the case I requested a tire rotation after they installed the tires I got there and dropped the car off at 8 o'clock in the morning I showed up about 11:30 AM to come pick up the car. They hadn't even touched it. The mechanic didn't know how to put it in reverse now my car is a manual and I can't hold it against somebody for not knowing how to drive manual but nobody called me. Nobody let me know. I had no idea so I asked for my keys back... if you can't put my car in reverse, you don't get to touch a damn thing on it. Unbelievable read more

Update so not only did I have trouble with the tire rotation situation, but they also told me my front brake pads were 85% worn and need replaced. See pictures please. I am almost 50 but I can tear stuff down and I have to be honest I was not at all surprised to see this. If they were willing to try to convince me they needed to charge me labor then what are they doing with the elderly people that they service? This is why I cannot trust mechanics. I honestly changed my oil when I got home despite the fact that they said that they did i couldn't trust that the job was even done much less done correctly please take your business somewhere else this store does not have your best interests in mind I have half a notion to send this to the BBB. read more

So I'm a dasher and my tire keeps going flat and I'm panicking because tbh I lost my main job a week ago and it seems like everything has be an obstacle except coming here ^_^ I was trying to get air in my tire and Mr Haroll came out the door to help me and immediately started looking for the problem and he got mr Avon to come and replace my valve in my tire and I've never been to a tire place that started working so fast I thought i was going to be here for a while. I really tried to be respectful through this entire experience, but this was one of the most upsetting interactions I have ever had with a mechanic. I went in on a Friday afternoon with a brake light indicator, knowing that I needed my brakes looked at. I was promised by the staff it would be done on Saturday. After receiving no call on Saturday, I called first thing on Sunday morning - and this is when it all started. Called in the morning and I was told would receive a call with the status 30 min later, no call received. I call back an hour later and am told the car is ready. I go to pick it up. I am told the car still needs a test drive, which they proceed to do and then come back and tell me the car is actually not ready, it should be another hour - fine. I proceed to call for the next 5 hours asking for updates and each time am told by the assistant manager that he is personally going to look at bleeding the brakes right then. Finally within 30 min of closing I just go over and wait in the lobby. My car is on the rack. 10 min before close he calls me over to show me a rusted out brake line that needs to be replaced. So after over 2 days of having it in their possession they diagnose my issue. I inform them I absolutely do not feel comfortable having them do work on my car and ask to leave. While checking me out the assistant manager has the audacity to tell me "there's no charge on that". Yeah - you didn't do any work on it, what would I be paying you for. read more

We were traveling through town to North Carolina, we had a slow leak from a nail in the tire. We looked at website and they had the specific tire we needed, we called to make sure they had the tire, and they said bring it in. Let's look to see if we are able to patch it first. They checked and showed us the tire, and unfortunately we needed a new one. But, thankfully they had it in stock and got us fixed up fast! Very helpful and friendly staff. I bought 4 new Pirelli tires at one of the Savannah locations. They originally quoted me over $1900 for tires brakes alignment and wheel bearings (2) After asking me to bring car in parts were a no-show. This was frustrating, however, I worked through it only to be disappointed elsewhere. Fast forward a day after they put new tires on I get a complete flat tire on the back right wheel. I was shocked!!! Tires going flat that quickly is absurd. We came to realize the valve stem was the old one - reused and not without issues! I was dumbfounded and highly disappointed. On 12/17/19, I made an online reservation to have four new tires put on my car. According to the reservations, Savannah Tire, 11164 Abercorn St., Savannah, GA, had the size tires that I wanted so I completed the reservation for installation to be accomplished on 12/18/19, at 9:00 am. I arrived at 8:40 am and employee "Chris" found my reservation in the system, but told me it would be until noon until they would be finished installing the tires. I told him that I had a reservation for 9:00 am. He stated that three other people had the same reservation time that I did. He had no answer when I asked him then why I was allowed to place a reservation for 9:00 am when three other people had already reserved that same time slot. I still left the car, but received a call from "Chris" about 2 1/2 hours later that the particular tires I wanted were not in stock but they would be at the store the following day (12/19/19), after 4:00 pm, whereupon they could be installed on my car. He added that similar sized tires (more expensive, of course), were in stock and he could install them on my car immediately. I told him no thanks, I don't play those typical salesmen type games. I reluctantly agreed to return the next day after 4:00 pm to get the tires installed that I had reserved online. As such, I picked up my car and went home. I should have, at that point, gone elsewhere. The following day, (12/19/19), the car was returned at 4:00 pm by my son who was told that it would take about 1 1/2 hours to install the tires. My son left the car at Savannah Tire, shopped, and returned at 5:30 pm, where he was told that the tires could NOT be installed that day; they were just too busy. The manager (name unknown), advised my son that if he could return the car the following day (12/20/19), at 8:00 am, he (the manager), would insure that the tires would be installed. My son agreed to that. So, on 12/20/19, at 7:50 am, I returned to Savannah Tire, asked to speak with the manager, waited there and saw that the tires were installed by about 9:30 am. Way too much ordeal to purchase and install four tires over a three day time period! I'll never use Savannah Tire, located at 11154 Abercorn St., again! read more

I was a long time Savannah Tire customer. As soon as Mavis bought them out, my bill shot way up. Each time I would go in, they wanted to sell me some service. Often times, I ignored whatever they wanted to sell me. Then, the next time I would go in, they would move on to some other service that they wanted to sell me. The location is convenient. But, I am just at the point I don't believe a word they say. I have to wonder if the agents work on a commission. read more

POOR EXPERIENCE!! Went in for two new tires. Tires were put in the back instead of the front. Was told that if the front tires have enough tread they don't rotate them. I am no mechanic but it makes sense to me that new tires should always be in the front. Anyway, they agreed to rotate the tires the next morning. Came back and tires were rotated. Half-way home the wheels were shaking and rattling. Called and they said they didn't balance them when they rotated them even though we paid for it with the original install. Returning THREE DAYS later for a third time to get them balanced. Was told that's the soonest they could get the car back in. Sloppy work. read more

Had a "low pressure" warning light on my right front tire, but a manual check of the pressure indicated all was well --- with that tire. The repair shop told me that when Savannah Tire installed my new tires, they mixed up the wheels so the sensors didn't match the receivers. My REAR RIGHT tire was low on air. STAY AWAY FROM THESE AMATEURS! As for my purchase of tires from Savannah Tire: Bait and switch rip off! Stay away! They quoted me bigger tires with a higher speed rating than those they installed. To make matters worse, as I was paying for tires they quoted, the dude made a point of telling me that Savannah Tire "lost money" on the deal because he mistakingly quoted me even smaller tires than he installed. Didn't notice until the wrong tires on my car until after work. When I called, Dave told me that it was my error. He even told me that Savannah Tire bought my tires from Tirerack. BOTTOM LINE AT THE TOP: There company motto should be "the customer is always wrong... and we don't care about it dot com." I went here to have two new tires put on the back of my car. The salesman was very friendly and open and they were very quick about there work, and had my car ready to go in an hour. I paid, a happy customer ready to come home and give them a 5 star review, when I noticed that my hub cap was missing on one of my tires. I went back into the store and told the sales guy this and told me that there wasn't one on there to begin with. Uh, what? It was my tire, I brought it in, there was a hub cap on there when I gave it to them. That was a fact. But I make it a point not to get upset or rude in these situations and I calmly told him that I was sure it was there and asked him if he wouldn't mind checking. He told me again that there wasn't one and that there was no where to check. I asked to speak to the man who worked on my car. He came out of the back with a very angry look on his face, like he half this to happen, and told me that there was not hub cap and that I should go check my house cause it wasn't' here. There was, at no point, a "sorry sir, I don't think we saw one but let me double-check for you" or a "let me get our manager and he can talk to you" it as just "your wrong, go home." I talked to three more people, including the manager, and all said the same thing, 'we don't have it, go check at home.' So, I told them I would go check at home and come back. As I was leaving, one of the guys working in the back came out with my hub cap in his hand "Hey guys," he said, "does this belong to anyone?" It had been sitting on top of a shelf next to where they had been working on my car. I looked back at the men who were so sure I was wrong. They didn't say anything. Not "sorry sir" or "our mistake," NOTHING! The only guy who said sorry was the guy who found my hub cap. There are plenty of other places in the Savannah area that will give you good car service for a reasonable price (I got to RPM and Midas now) don't waist your time with these guys. read more

Don't go to Savannah Tire. They charge $30 for a flat repair. They don't even have free coffee or popcorn. They told me that I need to get a new tire but did not give me any other options. I had to go back to the guy and ask. Then he gave me another price. I knew I should have went to Goodyear they have free flat repair and coffee. Ok again all we needed was a tire replace and it took over an hour way to long. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If you get thirsty they will sell you soda. Ok so after waiting so long for them to get my tire from another source they told me it would be on it's way. We had to get back to Jacksonville so I asked for the keys and the guy trying denying me my car twice and I should wait. There is so much more but I must stop. read more

No idea how these amazing people rank a two-star rating. The customer service my husband and I received was nothing less than five stars. He bought tires from another dealer who could not put them on because they were 37 in. We called out to Mavis and though they could not make us a promise they would look at them and do their best to get them on. Not only did they do it, they did it within a couple of hours at a very reasonable rate. They also put my new brakes on while we waited. We all know that hiccups happen but this amazing group had two scheduled customers come in late and they also accommodated them. They stayed open 2 hours late to make sure that our needs were met. The manager, who is a certified technician by trade, jumped in to help with the work to make sure the customers were all taken care of. Dustin, Alexa and team are the best!!! I went to 2 different locations. I told them rear drivers side wheel bearing. Shop one said my problem was rear brake estimate $800 plus and it was disc brakes. Easy! So I did that myself for $300 parts and 1.5 hours time. (noise still there) Shop two said front drivers wheel bearing $450. So I did that myself in an hour $150 parts.(still has noise) Take it to Asian Auto. "You need a rear wheel bearing on the drivers side" Problem solved. Why can't they look at what I brought it in for? Any why the rip off in cost. CRAZY! read more

They had a decent package deal, however... Took the car in for an alignment and after I got it back it was better but still not right. I took it back and they gave me a printout of the results and explained to me that corrections cannot be made. They also gave me the excuse that it was my tires. There customer service is lacking, and staff seems to be lacking motivation to get the job done or correct issues they might have over looked. My 5 year old kid made the mistake of tapping on their fish tank and instead of telling me they just welled at my kid. I wasn't impressed andI will take my money somewhere else. Good luck. read more
