I met Max Alavi in a networking group in 2014 where we were both members. After getting to know Max for several months, I introduced my parents to him so that they could create their trust. I scheduled the appointment for my parents and the three of us met with Max in his office and at the time he seemed friendly, professional and knowledgeable, so we were happy with his services. Fast forward several years and my parents have both passed away and the trust documents he provided to them went missing. As the trustee of my parents' estate, I reached out to Max for help in getting a copy of the trust documents. That's where my experience with Max took an ugly turn. He wouldn't take my call. You read that right. He refused to speak with me. He didn't offer his condolences. He wouldn't acknowledge or agree to meet with me. He would only communicate via his staff to tell me that he doesn't keep copies of certified trusts. He only has the working document and had his people tell me that he refused to share it with me. He couldn't be bothered to explain this to me personally. After consulting with a few different attorneys, I've been told that there is no legal reason for him to withhold this information. As the trustee of my parents' estate, how am I supposed to fulfill their wishes when I don't have a copy of the trust to follow the instructions? Max didn't care. His clients (my parents) had passed, so I guess he felt that he had no obligation to talk with me...However, Max had no problem communicating with me when my parents were alive and potential clients. We emailed back and forth about meeting times, how my parents thought the meeting went and scheduling time for them to come back to sign the papers. All of that planning and communication was with me. (Yes, I still have all the emails) He had no problem communicating directly with me when a check was on the way, but after they died? Lisa who? Won't even take my call or return my voicemail. I had been in a weekly networking group with Max for many months, personally walked my parents directly into his office and I even attended a party at his home where I met his wife. He knows who I am. He could easily verify my identity as the successor trustee. If he can't be bothered to answer my call when he clearly knows me, how do you think he'll treat your loved ones when you're gone? I hate to give a bad google review, but in your time of need, when your loved on dies, Max Alavi (at a minimum) should take your call to offer his condolences and guidance, not refuse to speak with you or set an appointment. His behavior wasn't just unprofessional; it was rude and downright cruel to refuse to speak with the grieving daughter (and successor trustee!) of one of his clients in this way. Max was great before the sale was made, but wow, what a difference in demeanor when it really mattered most. I hope all of you reading this can learn from my mistake. read more

Max Alavi and his team were amazing to work with! They recently assisted me with a family trust litigation matter and they went above and beyond. Max truly did his best to move my case forward despite the delays of the court and opposing party. He was transparent and very honest about the results and potential outcomes of my case. This review is of my own personal experience. Before you have any dealings with Mr. Alavi research other Attorneys in this field, not because they are cheaper but because you owe it to yourself and your loved ones. Anything you've read in the Alavi Bio that he's written in a positive light about himself, I can assure you the experience will be the complete opposite. Mr. Alavi fell short in all the boxes. I chose Mr. Alavi based on his reviews and his bio because I was in desperate need and had to move quickly with an estate issue (so please take that into deep consideration). Before handing a single dime to Mr. Alavi up front (He will ask for money up front approx 18k) have a clear UNDERSTANDING before signing anything what that initial fee will be used for. I have to reiterate... KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING. ALWAYS ASK HOW MUCH IT'S GOING TO COST YOU. COST IS EVERYTHING! MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS with you and MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL WILL WITH SIGNATURE. You will be charged an absurd amount just on DISCOVERY. Also, if you choose Mr. Alavi, make sure that you both agree in the direction you're case is going. DO NOT ALLOW MR. ALAVI TO GO INTO DEAD END DIRECTIONS WITH YOUR CASE (that's lost funds for YOU and MORE FOR HIM). In fact, DO NOT ALLOW MR. ALAVI TO HAVE THE FREEDOM TO MAKE ANY CASE DECISIONS WITHOUT CONSULTING YOU FIRST. MR. ALAVI WILL WASTE FUNDS GOING IN MANY DIRECTIONS. Have all questions and concerns written prior, and don't be afraid to go online to get a clear understanding of the probate process to help you with your attorney choosing and questions. Do not be intimidated by Mr. Alavi (as he will seem somewhat disconnected to your case). REMEMBER He works for you. IF you choose Mr. Alavi ALWAYS BE PREPARED. MAKE SURE EVERY QUESTION IMAGINEABLE has been answered (do not leave his office feeling dissatisfied, because you will), DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING without a clear concise understanding of HOW MUCH THE COST IS, HOW LONG HE WILL DRAG THE PROCESS (almost 5 years). BE AWARE OF EXCUSES i.e. "THESE THINGS TAKE TIME". If you choose to go with Mr. Alavi DO NOT (I repeat) DO IT OUT OF DESPERATE CIRCUMSTANCES. Request a monthly statement that determines how much of the estate money is being spent on attorney fees, phone calls, mailings, court costs, court documents. Do not wait until the end of distribution when you won't be able to dispute any of his fees because you can't remember one 500 dollar phone call from the other (believe me you will have the shock of your life). Keep your own calendar on hand of meetings/phone calls and the length of time you've spent actually talking to Mr. Alavi. Because you will be charged. Also be aware of any other opposition Attorneys/Fiduciary (know when, why, and how long phone calls to those Attorneys are) Those are all cost. Expect the Alavi firm to wait last minute for documents to be signed URGENTLY these are the ones that have to be electronically filed through the court (I'm convinced this is a technique used to prevent you from reading and just signing whatever is presented to you). Give yourself time to read the documents before signing. Make sure you have access to the court website so you know and understand what the courts and Mr. Alavi are doing with your case. If you are looking for an attorney that is empathetic to your mourning. (This is not Mr. Alavi) Expect BUSINESS AS USUAL and not in a professional manner. If your loved one's estate has VALUABLES, HEIRLOOMS, DOCUMENTS, IMPORTANT PAPERWORK (Do NOT expect Mr. Alavi to ensure that you will be receiving those items in your possession. In fact, consider them LOST, GONE, STOLEN. Mr. Alavi will tell you there was no importance to those valuables (just stuff a few pots and pans). If you are looking to establish a TRUTHFUL/TRUSTFUL client/attorney relationship (this is not Mr. Alavi) If you are looking for professionalism by Mr. Alavi or his firm (Also not Mr. Alavi) If your estate ends up in the court system and you are expecting it to drag longer than you anticipated (THIS IS YOUR GUY). If you are shocked at the disbursement of estate funds where your attorney made out more than you did (this too is your guy). DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE ALLOW Mr. Alavi to treat your case like a MONEY TREE OR OPEN CHECKBOOK. Avoid at all COST! LITERALLY!! read more

Judge Boswick in San Diego, kicked out his paperwork due to not confirming to his courts rules. This resulted in a 4-6 month delay to remove a rogue deceitful malicious trustee, represented by what appeared to be be hind the scenes a cohort to increase expensive time & costs of litigation .
