My overall experience at this location was great. The staff was extremely helpful in getting me the best deal they could give for a BMW GS. Although they did not have what I was looking for, they were going to do everything they could to try and get me what I wanted. Their contactless motorcycle sales was amazing and they are able to ship all the paperwork to you for signature if you decide to pull the trigger on one of their many motorcycles in inventory. Their service and parts department is also incredibly helpful and friendly. I had to order some parts from them after my initial visit and the parts were delivered to my home in a reasonable time (about one week). The items were not in stock so it took longer than expected during due to the holidays. They added a bag of m&m's to my order free of charge which my wife loved. I can see why this location has such high reviews.

My new R nineT. Absolutely love it.

I recently purchased a new BMW R nineT at MAX BMW in Brookfield, CT and had an outstanding experience. Although I live in Manhattan and I'm about 10 minutes away from the NYC BMW store I drove all the way to CT after a poor NYC store experience. A co-worker suggested I give MAX a try as he felt things might go better there. He was indeed correct and it was a refreshing difference in terms of the whole experience. The store itself is large, clean and well stocked with bikes. In fact, I'd imagine they can probably get a hold of just about any model you're seeking. They also had a few vintage/antique bikes which were nice to see. The parking lot is also nice and large with plenty of bikes outside on display. I was lucky enough to get the sales manager Zac Wiley who patiently answered questions, toured me around the store and offered constructive feedback and info. No pressure, no chasing, no ham-handed sales tactics. This was my first BMW and I had a lot of questions and he answered them all. When it came time to buy and negotiate a price Zac was more than fair and worked hard to put together a surprisingly great price for me. I get the sense they want people to feel satisfied and happy rather than exhausted after a negotiation. I opted to finance the bike through BMW and that was also quick, smooth and seamless. Their friendly finance person (I think it was Elizabeth) had a great sense of humor and made signing lots of paperwork quick and easy. I wish more dealers could be like this. The only downside to the whole experience was after the purchase when I was seeking some accessories for my new bike and was handed off to Frances at the parts counter. Yikes, what a grumpy individual. I'm high as a kite having just purchased a new motorcycle and standing there with my smiling girlfriend and this guy won't make eye contact, exchange pleasantries, and generally comes off as irritated he has to speak with me. This is after he was just told by the sales manager I bought a bike. I was going to purchase bags, accessories, etc, but his attitude drove me off and I decided not to buy anything at all. Oh well, everyone else in the dealer was great, so maybe he was having a bad day. Overall, it was a great experience purchasing there and I'd definitely recommend them. As far as motorcycle dealers go this is going to be as good as you can probably get.

This is a BMW Dealership - MAX BMW If you are a fan of European motorcycles, the local dealer in Hartford ditched their European lines and fell back to the American made crowd favorite. Brookfield is not close, but they do have a Beautiful showroom and nice techs. This is a BMW Motorcycle Dealer, the people here are knowledgeable and they do have a great selection. When I visited, there were an number of people there who had driven in for service and who were hanging around at some outdoor seating using the free wi-fi. Nice place.

Great dealer - amazing service department.

Max BMW is the best around. Well - there the only one around but still the best. Great selection of bikes - Zac in sales is great and the fact the serve good coffee is a great addition. Don't get rid of the coffee Max

I purchased the most amazing motorcycle from max BMW motorcycles last weekend. The bike I chose was a K 1600 B. I came off a Harley Street glide, I wasn't sure how I would acclimate to the BMW, but this was clearly one of the best decisions i've ever made purchasing a new motorcycle. I worked with Zac Wiley on the purchase, no pressure was ever exerted to make me feel compelled to buy this bike. Liz Rose closed out all the paperwork, returned one of my plates back to DMV for me at no charge, this transaction was flawless. They even gave me the option to pick up my new bike days before I was ready to receive it. Once I picked it up, the bike was absolutely perfect and they even threw in a free GPS unit because I bought the bike in a timely manner. Max BMW will be one of my favorite placesTo visit as the staff is so friendly and eager to help you whether you're purchasing a bike, accessories or just want to talk shop. AAA +++ transaction. Thanks you guys!

After seeing the need for a community bike shop in New Haven, Feiner used the last $600 in his bank account to open his own shop. It originally opened in a cramped old Wooster Square factory space at 433 Chapel Street. For his new shop, Feiner chose the name "The Devil's Gear" as a reference to the 1988 Paris-Nice stage race. The French press said that Irish cyclist Sean Kelly was riding "the devil's gear". In addition to selling bicycles, the shop also hosts bike tours, maintenance clinics and weekly training rides. The shop has made a number of moves over the years: first to 151 Orange Street, then down the street to 137 Orange, and finally to their current location at 845 Chapel Street. In 2018, longtime employees John Brehon and Greg Ledovsky came on board as co-owners of the shop. Feiner later stepped down due to medical reasons, but Brehon and Ledovsky continue to build on the foundation and legacy that he left behind. In 2021, Brehon and Ledovsky decided to start selling skateboards at the shop too. Local skateboarder J. Joseph came on board to handle the skateboard department. I've been doing business with the Devil's Gear for well over 10 years. When I first became interested in cycling, I went there to get all of my cycling accessories and helpful tips. I still ride a 2013 Jamis Satellite Sport road bike in a beautiful Tiger's Eye finish which I bought from the shop. I take it back to the shop every year for my annual tune-up. In addition to all of their great products and services, The Devil's Gear does a lot for the local cycling community. They have provided all of the technical support for Smilow Cancer Hospital's Closer to Free Ride for several years. I'm about to start training for my seventh consecutive CTF Ride. Whether you've been cycling for several years or you're just looking to get into cycling, you should definitely head down to The Devil's Gear!

I looked at some of the other reviews written and I couldn't agree more. This is a terrific shop; great sales dept. (Dan) and the owner (Dave) are both super friendly and laid back. His daughter works there and is also very friendly. They have two beautiful and VERY friendly Golden Retrievers greeting customers as well. I mention all of this because it puts one at ease when you're there browsing / shopping. Full disclosure: I've been browsing there for a couple of years; I've stopped in quite a few times. I never felt pressured or annoyed by Dan or anyone there; they are super laid back. So I finally decided on buying a Ducati and the whole process was handled so well, from beginning to end. I've also had the service dept. install some mods for me and change out the rear sets, etc. Again - even the guy I dealt with in the service dept. was friendly and helpful. I read in one or two of the reviews that people were traveling pretty good distances to shop here and get service done on their bikes. Two months later, I got on the bike and the kickstand fell off, causing very minor damage. The bolt was not secured properly, and the kickstand itself was perfectly fine and intact--the problem was their installation. I called the service manager, Will, and he told me I could get the bike towed and that he would find prices for me to replace everything. I explained that the issue was not a failed part, but that it had not been put on correctly. I wasn't satisfied that the discussion would lead to a resolution , so I called the owner and explained what happened. The owner asked for pictures, sent me a text message telling me where to send them, and said they would follow up. Instead, I got a phone call from Will threatening me and saying I had gone behind his back. He told me it was a used part, not to come to his department anymore, that they were not servicing my bike, and that if I came there they would have me arrested. When I asked to speak to the owner, he said the owner did not want to talk to me and that he was talking to me instead. I only wanted the stand fixed so I could ride my bike, but instead I was met with hostility, threats, and refusal to take responsibility. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
