While there is no official BMW Part number and one can only buy the gaskets as part of the plug ($60) or an entire harness ($600+), Russ found some used ones on a discarded harness and sent them to me at no charge. Above and beyond. My local dealer had no answers when I asked then about used parts or any other alternatives. My alternative would have been using black rubber o rings, fit as best I could to prevent water ingress. Russ's service was at the top level of what I experience these days. He is an asset to the organization and to the wider BMW rider community.

I own an early '80's BMW Airhead (R100RS) and I have lots of friends (who despite, living with me in Southern, CA) recently suggested I call on MaxBMW for my specialized AirHead needs. They told me their service was great, pricing reasonable, and their online MicroFiche (bike parts, diagram/drawing reference) was great. They were right! But that's not all I found which impressed me. This is where Austin comes into the fold... As a former Retail Store Owner, and having been in the high-end retail game for 20+ years, I know impeccable service when I encounter it. Austin (Parts Department) 'is the man with the plan'. While I've not met Austin in person, and I've only known him for several weeks... I feel like I've known Austin for months. Years possibly!? We've had approximately 6-9 interactions (all phone-based) all of which were incredible, and each encounter more comfortable than the prior. Austin is the consummate professional: patient, knowledgeable, friendly, supportive, fun, passionate, and resourceful. Because of my repeat positive experiences purchasing small, incidental parts, I ended up spending much more time and $ than anticipated. Clicking around their well-organized site, I got a little click-happy! Heck, I went as far as to have Austin order an OEM Center Stand from BMW Germany for me. I'll be stoked to get this into my hands in a few weeks... Oh, and did I mention a Red Label Next Day Air package of parts (from CT to CA) that arrived within 24 hours of my phone call!? If my experiences purchasing parts have been like this, can you even imagine what fairy-tale experience awaits those purchasing a motorcycle!? :-D A believer in Top-Down Management, I would imagine that Austin has equally capable counterparts and a management Team to support him in his daily quest to conquer. I recently had an amazing experience at Motoplex Fairfield! The experience was unlike any other I…read morehave ever had anywhere. I had an interest in a Moto Guzzi and called the dealership for some information about one particular model. I had the pleasure of speaking with the manager Scott, who answered all of my questions and invited me to come up to Connecticut to see the motorcycle and the dealership. So I made the 2 hour drive up from New Jersey and I am so glad that I did! I first noticed how the dealership was buzzing with activity. I then noticed a brand new enclosed van (looked like maybe a Sprinter) with a ramp on the back for transport of motorcycles and scooters. Next I noticed what a beautiful facility Motoplex Fairfield has. It is brand new and stunning! When I entered I was warmly welcomed by both Scott and the owner Ryan. They are both clearly very proud of Motoplex Fairfield. I had a lot of questions about the dealership and about the brand and Ryan took the time to give me his personal history and the history of the dealership. He patiently listened to my questions and answered all of them. Then Ryan gave me a grand tour of the fantastic facility, including the pristine service area (that was undergoing expansion-a really good sign) and an introduction to the service staff. The Motoplex Fairfield service facility is state-of-the-art. It is a cliche, but you could eat off the floor. The shop reminded me of the immaculate facilities in the restricted access "back room" at Luigi Chinetti Ferrari in Greenwich Connecticut (I had the opportunity for a personal tour on a Sunday when the dealership was closed, circa 1970) that housed the Ferrari NART endurance racing cars. Then Scott spent about two hours showing me all of the features of the Moto-Guzzi. He spent a lot of time going over the specifics of a purchase and then the myriad of reasons why to make a purchase from Motoplex Fairfield. Too many to list, but I left in a euphoric state. The advantages were truly unbelievable (even a Metro North train station a few blocks away and a custom upholstery shop for seat modifications in the same block, etc.). Scott and Ryan are not only very knowledgeable about their brands but also truly wonderful human beings. If you want to find out about the dealer for yourself, I highly recommend a visit to Motoplex Fairfield!

Took it to my regular shop who were too busy to look at it originally and they quickly fixed a leaky power steering hose directly above the tranny and fixed for $300. I dare say Mr. Bruce is a sheikster and sham by trade, criminal actually. Steer clear and drive the extra 20 minutes in the other direction to a shop you can trust.

My wife brought her BMW 750GS in for what she thought would be a routine annual service and ended up with a $763 bill that included work that appeared unnecessary, including spark plug replacement. What really frustrates me is that less than three months and fewer than 1,000 miles later, the chain is heavily rusted. Chain inspection and maintenance were listed on the invoice, yet the condition of the chain makes me question whether that work was actually performed. Expensive service is one thing. Paying premium prices and then having doubts about the quality of the work is another. I won't be returning as Dwain rudely suggested at the time..

Since then I have had many great experiences with them: from changing a tire, to getting the recall handled. The staff has always been professional but on a more personal level. They are easy to build a repour with which makes it easier to order parts or make appointments. My most recent was changing the bearings on my rear wheel, I brought it to them and they had it back to me the next day. When every repair shop complains of being overloaded, they seem to be able to take care of a quick job such as mine. What was more impressive was the cost, it was more than reasonable given the afore mentioned "Swamped." work schedule. I will always steer fellow riders to Land and Sea for service and parts. They also have an impressive amount of equipment on the floor for quick delivery. Thanks Land and Sea.

Because they do a good job for a fair price. And they are honest. And they are good guys. Bike always runs great after a service, and stays that way for the rest of the season. I know I am getting the work done I need, and am not being charged for unnecessary work. My local dealer disappointed me and overcharged me. I have no desire to go back. Thanks guys! As a traveling Nurse i live in my car and drive about 40K miles a year through the Tri-State and need maintenance etc more often than most others. I felt my alignment was off and went to TownFair tire and they quickly discovered that one of my Control Arms was shit and this was a repair that had to be made ASAP to avoid a major cluster F while driving. I was recommended Blackman's by the TownFair folks(great guys by the way) and i headed over there 4p on a Thursday with no appt. The staff i met were so amazing nd just regular guys who happen to be experts in anything car related.....they have all been mechanics their whole lives and i had my car back and good as new in less than 36 hrs. truly amazing interactions and i feel blessed to have found these guys and will be going there exclusively for all my family and friends car needs and i highly recommend this place in case you couldn't tell!!
