After searching through a good 10 moving companies to make my move from Brooklyn NY to Ridgeway South Carolina, I was about to give up and rent a truck and do the move myself, I mean I was so turned off. Everyone repeating the same things, including a very high price... I was not happy thinking my stuff will be sitting in a moving truck for almost 2 weeks. I was telling my neighbor and he recommended Maxi Moving, telling me his son used them and was extremely happy with them. They went from point A to point B. So he gave me the number and I called the next morning and was THRILLED to hear what they told me. We did EVERYTHING that morning, I asked a million questions, price, time and packing. They asked me about my inventory, afterwards We set up a date and time. A week later Maxi Moving arrived at my house. They wrapped eveything wonderfully, carried EVERYTHING carefully to the truck, and in 3 hours they were done. The very next morning they called me to tell me they arrived at the location. I was surprised they were already there. I had my sister meet then and pay them ( not remembering the $50.00 deposit I paid when scheduled the appointment to pick up my move. One of the movers counted the money when At that point he returned a $50.00 bill back to my sister telling her I had made a $50.00 deposit when scheduled the appointment.... when he could easily put it in his pocket. NOW that was super honest of him saying A WHOLE LOT about MaxiMoving. My move was FANTASTIC, everything got here in one piece, nothing broken or scratched, and they placed everything neatly in the garage. They also asked if there was anything to set up but there really wasn't. So as far as recommending Maxi Moving to anyone, YES YES YES, they would be my ABSOLUTELY number one choice for all time ! Could not recommend Maxi Moving enough - made my first big Manhattan move completely stress free, for a very reasonable price! (2-hour, 3-person crew). 1) VERY RESPONSIVE! Things with my lease were a bit held up, so I was only able to start looking for moving companies a week before my actual move. I sent a blast quote on Yelp and Ivan was the first to respond - he was very proactive in offering me a last minute morning slot that opened up, and with just one phone-call, was able to secure my appointment. On the morning of the move, the crew called to give me a 30 min heads-up before they arrived, and even spoke to my building before I did to make sure the elevator was ready for them. 2) CREW IS FAST, EFFICIENT, PROFESSIONAL! The 3-man team was friendly, professional, and super efficient. They wrapped all my furniture with blankets and plastic wrap and treated them with care. Also, I think the van can teleport because they reached our load-out location faster than I did even though I left by car as they were still packing. My move was from a one bedroom apartment in Manhattan to a house on the Jersey Shore. Setting up the move was smooth and hassle free. Maxi Movers coordinated everything with my building management. The crew of three gave me a half hour advance notice of their arrival. The crew chief gave me a run down on how they would proceed, and within 2 - 1/2 hours the apartment was empty and they were off. Upon arrival at the house, the crew followed our instructions and requests. There was no damage or concerns. We paid cash for a discount, and paid much less than other company's quoted. All in all, my experience with this company has been positive. I have used them twice and would recommend. They forgot to unload my mirror but when I reached out to them - they were quick to answer and help! They were able to locate it and return it safely. I also had a miscommunication with the timing that was originally booked (I requested one day but they accidentally booked it for the next) but they were quick to fix it and gave us a discount for the inconvenience. I've used these guys 3x - they are simply very good! This is maybe only my 2nd Yelp review but they deserve it. Moving is no fun and the move day can be such a drag. They make it seem easy. Their quotes always come in very reasonable, and in this latest move, the job was done faster than I could have imagined and cost less than the quote. Per other reviews, they beat me to the destination and were super ready to get unpacking while I myself did a quick sweep of the apt I was moving out of and then got stuck in traffic. They were thoughtful, easygoing, and worked relentlessly for my move on a 90+ degree day in a super coordinated way between the team of 3. They are experts with all manner of boxes, furniture, mirror/glass items, large picture frames, and plants. At this point, I do not recommend this moving company. I hired them via Unpakt.com for a move in May including packing/unpacking. I found the packing to be very hurried and inefficient, resulting in many more boxes to move and more paper waste. Also, it took so long that they didn't want to unpack most of my boxes towards the evening. They did unpack some boxes but mostly I unpacked them as they opened the boxes for me - which they then broke down and disposed of. But not everyone uses these services (packing/unpacking). The most important feedback is that I had an Italian credenza (china cabinet) damaged in the move. (Will attach photos). It was done by a peg on my disassembled Ikea wardrobe which wasn't wrapped. Apparently this credenza was also not properly wrapped. The kicker is that they're trying to charge me an additional $570 on a move that cost over $700 and I gave a tip of $240. I'm still waiting to hear back from Unpack about these charges and from Maxi about the damages. In fairness, I will update my post when some of these issued are (hopefully) resolved. No company is going to be perfect, but the confluence of these circumstances leads me to NOT recommend Maxi Moving at this time. read more

Can't recommend these guys enough, total pros. I moved a 1 bedroom apartment from an elevator building in LIC to a 4th floor walk-up in Bed Stuy. I had almost everything boxed, packed, covered and ready to go. Even so, I was really impressed that the Maxi team (3 guys) managed to do everything in two hours from pulling up to leaving. No complaints about the three flights of stairs and the team were really friendly. They weren't able to get my box spring up the stairs, but that's a lesson for me not for them - they spent a good amount of time trying to make it work. Thanks again! read more

I dont write a lot of reviews but i had to after my HORRIBLE experience with Moving Ur Way for my last move in 2020 and after reading all the nightmare reviews I was reading about all the top rated moving companies in NYC I had pure anxiety about my recent move on Nov 4th. Stories of broken items, holding items hostage unless you pay double what you're quoted. It was enough to cause panic attacks. Luckily I came across Maxi Moving which was mentioned in another movers review for another "top rated company" and they wish they had booked with Maxi Moving instead of the "top rated company". I had never heard of them before so I looked them up and was pleasantly surprised all the positive reviews, not 1 actual bad review. So i reached out to them and the process was very simple and seamless. Roman and his team did an exceptional job with my move. I paid a bit more than I wanted to but they were so thorough, and accommodating for my requests. Super careful with my items, paid close attention not to scuff floors or walls in either apartment. They worked quickly but very efficiently. They accommodated my requests as to what i wanted to put in my storage unit and the disposing of my old bed and frame. I am VERY impressed to say the least. At the end they even let me check the truck to make sure everything of mine had been removed. Top notch. I HIGHLY recommend them as the guys you should hire for your next move. Overall super satisfied with these guys! They were efficient and quick about packing everything up and moving it out of my somewhat space-constrained apartment. I liked that they made sure to carefully cover corners/tops of furniture up and package everything to avoid damage. They were a bit inaccurate about their time estimates (for example arriving at 3 pm instead of 4 pm like we had discussed) or taking slightly longer than they expected to get to the apartment that we were moving things to, but it's definitely understandable/best to be flexible about these things. Assembly and disassembly of furniture was good as well and I think all of my furniture survived for the most part! Would recommend for sure. read more

I had a very complicated move, over the course of 5 weeks. Most of my possessions had to go into storage and some items had to be moved to two other locations, before the large move. Some of the items were antiques- several centuries old. Maxi Movers provided the best estimate price, very reasonable and was almost spot on. There were only some minor adjustments. They were efficient and everything was delivered to the multiple locations in perfect shape. My only suggestion is that the movers communicate a bit more, go a bit slower in discussing how the day will unfold before they "jump" in and get very busy.
