This place is a gem !!! I needed an outerbox with specific dimensions which I couldn't find anywhere in Manhattan ! And My search was very extensive !! This store has speciality packing and shipping materials which you wouldn't find anywhere else ! And the cost beats any other stores ! Especially if you bug boxes at an UPS retail store or FedEx ! I got a large 28" x20 X20 for a fraction of the cost other stores charge for a small medium box. Save your money and time ! I wish I came here much before ! read more

As much as I hate to admit it, I move a lot. I mean, A LOT. (See NYCityVan). And because I'm an adult, kinda, I'm a little past searching craigslist for free boxes which means I have to buy them. I've used other companies but thought maybe I'd try a new one. I found Big Apple Boxes just by searching google and e-mailed them when I saw the "match any advertised price" and "walk-ins welcome." I received a response rather quickly from Mike who did indeed match the price I had inquired about for boxes of a comparable size. Seems to me they're willing to work with you on price as long as you're being reasonable. I was able to go down the next day to pick them up and not only were the gentleman working in there friendly, they tied up the boxes and added an awesome little handle for easy carrying. They were quick and efficient, they offer a quality product (not those flimsy boxes you find other places) and I was able to pay by credit card. A+ read more

My bank declined the attempted CC transaction with them because of fraud. After my staff went to pick up with cash, they gave half of the boxes we agreed for the price. They refused to give us the boxes we paid for, or money back. ALSO, they have three or four SEPARATE companies and websites running from the 34 Ludlow location. They gave different numbers to call for each "department." This place is obviously a front for something. AKA Big Apple Boxes, and LES boxes. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR CC AND GET A RECEIPT if you have no other options on moving day. read more

Its not a legitimate business, its a guy with a crapload of packing supplies stuffed into part of an office that he is not renting out, and he may or may not be there even if you call him and he says he will be. Its super sketchy and not really a store. Also the prices are subject to change. Its hard to know because the people working in the 3 person law firm tried to sell me the boxes, even though they had no interest in doing so. Avoid at all cost. read more

At first I thought this place was a joke with weird site and phone answering system that kept hanging up on me. But the guy actually cam thru..2 hours later. But I have to say the stuff is legit. HORRIBLE!!!! Worst experience ever. Never dealt with such unprofessional people in my life!!! Ordered shipping boxes to my office in Times Square and was told on the phone that my supplies would be delivered by the afternoon. I ordered at 10am. Now at 4pm I have yet to receive the order and no phone call or no emails to update me on the status. I then call and was told the driver was on the way at 4:30 and was told it would be before 5:30. My office closes at 5PM. I have no other choice but to stay since my company is relocating and we needed these supplies ASAP. Now 5:25 rolls around and the guy delivering my supplies FINALLY calls and tells me he's in traffic all the way by 14th street!!! He then proceeds to tell me, because of the location of my work, he will not be able to park because he does not want to get a ticket so I have to go downstairs and pick up the boxes from his car outside in the pouring rain... ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! I called their office and explained the situation and they said they cannot do anything about it since the guy already left their warehouse. 5:50 then rolls around and he finally shows up and calls me to tell me I have to get the boxes. This took me 5 trips to bring the boxes to the office!! I am 5foot and the boxes were taller than me. Not once did he say sorry or show any consideration. All that came out of his mouth was "you got it?"... I HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE DO I?! At the end of this, I am soaked from the rain and my boxes are wet. Please please please save your money and go through a legitimate company. You pay all this money in shipping to just deliver it yourself. Never again!! read more

Horrible, horrible, horrible! I bought $2,800 worth of product from these guys and it was a disaster. Firstly, even thought they were given several weeks to get the order together and were specifically told there was a deadline, they were late. Not only that but some of the order came 1 day late and the 2nd part 2 days late. 16 huge rolls of bubble wrap all delivered wrong and by the time we realised it was too late as these guys don't work weekends and we had no choice but to use it. 130 large cartons which were flimsy even then though they were advised of the weight that they needed to carry. Another 55 small/medium cartons which a large percentage were damaged on arrival. Tape that was such poor quality it didn't even work in tape guns. Appalling, appalling, appalling. To add insult to injury, they admitted that they dropped the ball with the bubble wrap and that they did 'their best' with the cartons but have refused to compensate me apart of $100 which was less than the cartons which arrive damaged. They should be ashamed of themselves. They might be OK for the odd bit of packaging for personal use but for commercial use forget it! Stay away and use a professional company who takes pride in what they supply and if they do make a mistake, takes responsibility. HORRENDOUS! read more

The store is entirely unorganized. Products are cheap, but most of what you see online they do not even have in the store, or cannot find because they are too disorganized. They also have no real system of business. The owner was not even at the store and passed all of the work onto a business partner who has a separate business in the same space. They sell the cheapest packing tape money can buy. I taped up a new box, loaded it full with clothes, and then returned to it the following morning only to find all of the tape magically stripped off clinging on by threads. Spend $2 more at your local pharmacy for real Scotch packing tape and save yourself the hassle. The interior of the store is also highly unorganized and a bit creepy. I would not bring children here. read more
