I highly recommend this place! Typically I stay away from the Instagram worthy aesthetic places. But this place was 10/ 10 all around. I mean I was not in love with the customer service, but there was a language barrier so I'm not going to judge that he was on top of it and super nice and our food arrived pretty fast. The food was a 9.5/ 10 we ordered so much food! We ordered the steak that was a 10, We ordered the ceviche that was also a 10, we ordered the pizza that was a 8, and we also ordered guacamole and chips, which is off the menu but if you ask them, they will prepare it and that was a 10. we ordered dessert which was a espresso ice cream brownie brownie was a little dry but everything compliments to each other that's going to be an 8. Absolutely loved everything about Maxico! Went for dinner at around 6:00 pm on a Saturday with a large party of 11 and they were able to accommodate us within 10 minutes. Everyone in the group ordered a variety of dishes and drinks and everyone loved their dish. I ordered the Filet minion that came with a side of veggies, and mashed potatoes. The filet minion was cooked to the perfect medium rare and the mashed potatoes were so good and creamy. My only complaint is that I wish the veggies were seasoned a little bit more but other than that i would definitely order this dish again. I also tried the clam chowder bowl which came with a spicy mayo. I never would have thought the two flavors would mix but it was honestly probably one of the best clam chowder's i've ever tried. Not to mention the barista at the coffee station was making some really good lattes and hot chocolate with the cutest latte art. So for my girlfriend's birthday she said wanted to try this place since she saw it on social media. The place has a great ambiance inside and outside. Luckily we went when before the lunch crowd took over. We tried their coffee, as well as a couple breakfast entrees. The omelette with chilaquiles inside was great and the regular plate of chilaquiles w/ barbaqua was fantastic. Then we finished it off with some special tres leches pancakes. I've been to Maxico several times now, and every time has been really great. The food is consistently good, and the service never disappoints. The menu is small and straight to the point, but it gets the job done. I love the charcuterie as a starter, and the tortilla soup is also bomb. For dinner, the boyfriend and I usually share the steak and the pasta and it's plenty to fill us both up. I also really enjoy the wine selection and like taking a look in the little wine store inside. If you're looking for a nice place in Rosarito to have a romantic dinner, this is definitely your spot. It's off the beaten path away from all the spring breakers and makes you feel like you're on vacation in Valle de Guadalupe. Tip: If you have plans to go during peak meal hours, definitely make a reservation as they fill up fast. I came here with some friends to celebrate my husbands birthday. I tried calling a few times to make reservations but they didn't pick up. Fortunately we went there on a Saturday and we didn't have to wait. We sit in the patio area which is spacious and beautiful. I found this on a TikTok video, I made it a stop during my visit to Rosarito. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The place is beautiful! It is actually someones home turned into a restaurant, and the owners still live there. We had tortilla soups and mojitos everything was delicious. We went down to the "cava" after dinner and had a couple samples of wine. Wine sampling is free just tip well. We definitely be stopping every time I'm in town. read more

I am giving this restaurant two stars only because it is a beautiful and "instagrammable" venue. Other than that, food was sub par, and the service was mediocre. To start off with, we did not receive the complimentary bread every other table received, which honestly, I don't care for, but you still expect to be treated the same as every other customer. Second of all, flies everywhere. We could not enjoy our meal because the flies kept landing on the food and drinks. Third, the food was served cold to us. And lastly, the quality of the food was very poor. To be more specific, the tortillas tasted store bought, and the chicharron sope was so bad I had to spit it out into a napkin.
