I've been to Maximo's on Main Street several times in the last few months it's a nice and clean place with really good food. The shrimp cocktail is delicious however it is pricey so be prepared to spend just under $ 25 dollars. They also have great tacos with meat choices of asada, carnitas and chili verde. Bought 3 tacos at 3.65 a piece. When I got the tacos they were the silver dollar tortillas., the really small ones. Won't be going doing that again lol. The place was really expensive and the tacos weren't that good. read more

Food is way overpriced chile reyono and 2 tacos with drink was 35 dollars! The staff is nice but miss me with those prices. 18 dollop for a burrito full of rice! Wheres the meat. For 35 dollars you can get 3 meals at vajarata a couple blocks away. read more

This is another tasty place to eat. They've added picnic tables so it's not just take out anymore. If you're looking for a good torta, burrito, taco or combination plate try here. My only suggestion is I wish they would add a condiment cart. Oh, the corn tortillas are kept in hot chests, so they are soft & warm and can be eaten right out of the bag. YUM. read more

Food is good, However.... they have horrible customer service in the restaurant and in the grocery store or whatever it is. Just threw away meat that cost $7.29 p/lb. Upon opening package it smelled like it had gone bad. While it was cooking it still smell bad. Sure enough when we tasted it it had gone bad. I would have returned it from the start, but I knew I wouldn't be able to get my money back. One time I bought some cooked Ceviche which had gone bad and after a lot of arguing I finally got my money back. I told me husband, "it's like were in Mexico". He responds, "they don't do that in Mexico". I guess he's right. Look at pic of cooked meat in the trash. It's not fair!! Now that I remember, I bought a chile relleno meal and the chile relleno had also gone bad. Other than them having the best refried beans I will not be purchasing anything else from this place. Great place to get authentic Mexican food in Porterville! Love Taco Tuesday where tacos are $1.09 a piece ! They have great beans and rice too. The only thing we didn't like was the tostada shell tasted like fish probably because it was fried on the same oil as fish, no good. But a great and inexpensive place to eat!!! read more

Awesome burritos with fresh sliced meat! This place rocks, its a supermarket but you go to the 'deli' in the back and they have all sorts of fresh cooked meat, and you can make your own burrito combo. So amazing, and its like 5 bucks or something super cheap. Huge burrito too. And might as well pick up some other good stuff in the store while your at it, its full of it! read more

Growing up in Porterville does not have many perks, one of the few is this awesome market! Es autentica con la comida, productos, pan dulce, elote, y piñatas que venden. It is delicious, and hardcore original! I try to stop by every time I come home to visit to get their delicious elotes with the sour cream, queso fresco, lime and chile...mmm I'm salivating as it is!
