They start with a toasted roll and an all beef local hot dog topped with mustard. Then the star of the show is added, an amazing spicy Purple Kraut that mixes sweet with a surprising heat that will have you sweating. It's a bit messy to eat in the car but this is by far my favorite so far. Menu isn't super extensive but they have several varieties of specialty dogs as well as tacos, vegan offering and salads. Heather is a friendly face and there is a guy that works the Palenville site as well who is also great. They have a picnic table if you want to sit and relax while you eat or to go orders are available as well. Pricing is a bit higher than a basic hot dog truck but well worth it for the quality of the products, the flavor, the service and the finished product. We each chose a sandwich from the counter. My smoked salmon on focaccia was a delight. The bread, airy and light, beautifully happy yeast just bounding with lift, defying the constraints of olive oil which left my fingers gloriously glistening. I haven't had a focaccia as happy as that in a minute. Super thin radish, bright pickled shallot and fresh watercress all gave a nice vibrant touch. Ben's cream cheese couldn't possibly be creamier. And the delicate, silky, fresh, luxurious salmon... What a dream. So balanced.
