I work nearby and Max's is easily accessible. Over the last couple years I have been able to try a large number of their selections. Their in house brat selection is top notch and a wide selection of different types. The gummy bear brats are actually quite good. Ozark grillers are a personal favorite of mine along with the beef jerky. They also offer many different types of burgers with various add ins. I've enjoyed almost all of them. As far as meat cuts they have a wide selection and are reasonably priced. Large pork steaks, ribeyes, T-bones, pork chops, various chicken cuts and many others. They also offer some really good made in house sides. Service is always quick and friendly and they offer a decent rewards program. read more

They're always well stocked, the meat is always excellent and anything prepared is always great! They've been our holiday roast deli since we moved here in 2022, and are always happy to help with specialty cuts! We can't leave without the smoked pig ears for our pups, lest we get the pouty lip when we come home. They've also got a great selection of frozen choices and local goodies like sauces, snacks and even raw dog food! So the deli part is new. I've never actually been to a butcher shop to buy meat, the idea intimidates me as a novice cook. So when we saw there were sandwiches available, we ditched our original plans of the chinese place right next door. I've had two sandwiches at Max's so far, I LOVE the Italian, I think it's the best option. I'm in love with their pasta salad and just wish that for $1 it was a little bit bigger portion. The second time that we got food from Max's we got carry out and I was very appreciative that the food was ready for me right when they said it would be. We go to Max's for pretty much all of our red meats anymore. Every single employee is great, personable, and knows what they're talking about. The meat is amazing. We've even had friends invite us over for cookouts and ask us to pick up meat from here for them! Definitely a great local spot that everyone should try out! This past Sunday I went to get some frozen lobster. Just needing two lobster tails. I got some help from someone in the back because they only had one small one. The person in back said that a shipment was on the way and should be there by Tuesday. I get there tonight and was asked if I needed help and I told him what I was told. He went to go check and then tells me, I don't know who told you that, but there are none coming. Next time call before hand. I understand what he is saying with calling first, but I live two minutes away. Yet, I don't appreciate being called a liar. Otherwise I have enjoyed that place mighty, but very disappointed in them tonight. read more

They make a darn good jerky; although the deer and elk doesn't taste very different from the beef at times but it's all good and tasty either way. They have some reasonably priced items across the board; however... Each time I've gone many of the items I'm interested in have vacuum packs that weren't properly sealed ie busted;edges sealed on vac packs but completely loose around meat items themselves; it wasn't all of the items by any means and they quickly removed the damaged packages from cases when pointed out. I hate to say it but some meats had gone off in the windowed cases. I think it comes down to making/preparing more of items than what gets sold. Rest assured I think they are great and wouldn't sell something "bad" just that at times they may over produce certain items that don't always sell as quickly. My three stars is more of a quality assurance issue as someone within the Industry. I think Max's Meat is great just that they may be over compensating the demand and wait until the "last minute" in attempts to recoup costs. They are truly wonderful and I'd never tell someone to not go because they seem to truly care about what they provide for the public. I'd just suggest they cut back on mass production of items that don't always sell as expected and I commend them on being so kind and accommodating. They truly put out great products that end up being over produced. I think a great remedy would be doing a local "cook out" offering your many raw cased items for a profitable set price to generate more interest and sales because you definitely deserve it and make good items. read more

Max's Meat and Deli is simply the best! I've been buying ALL my meat there for years. Last night we BBQ'd a slab of ribs and I cannot begin to tell you how delicious they were. Their chickens must be free range, because they taste so much better than grocery store birds. Tender, moist and flavorful. And while you're there, don't miss their homemade salads and sides. Their baked beans are the best I've ever had. Sweet, smokey and with a kick of jalapeno to wake up your taste buds. I had a party this summer and bought everything from Max's. Worst butcher job ever!!!!! I split a beef with a friend. Not one piece of meat looks like a piece of meat in the store show case. None of the meat was trimmed correctly. We asked for prime cuts only and extra lean. The grease fire on the bbq pits are unbelieveable!!!!! I've bought over 20 sides of beef in my lifetime. This one is by far the WORST and MOST EXPENSIVE -$1400.00 for a half beef!!!! I feel like I really got screwed! I wouldn't give any of this meat to the homeless! As for the overall rate, I had to pick at least one star but that's one star too much as far as I'm concerned! read more

We go there all the time to buy meat, we love the Ozark Grillers, I love the landjager (spell). I tried the sandwich shop in deer season and was glad I did, AWESOME! Holy shit what a gem! I found this wonderful meat shop in a crazy kind of run down strip mall. Wow happy happy happy. When I walked in I literally could not wipe the smile off of my face. Guy behind the counter says "welcome to the adult candy store". Smell is so good, so clean and fresh. I couldn't wait to buy. Tried their cheddar jalapeno brats and cajun chicken kabobs. Both delish, kabob a lil salty and had quite a kick but taste so damn good. My girlfriend even ate the brat and she hates sooper mild salsa (wimp). The house blend pork and chicken kabobs are also very good. I like them better cause they are less salty. Also tried one chicken tamale and from a Mexican, they were pretty good especially the masa. Note to self: They are a tad expensive on brats. I paid $9.90 for four. Wow. Looking forward to spending many lunch hours here and their sandwich shop next door. I love Max's and I am a regular patron. They have a great selection of pork, chicken,steaks and brats. They have a great selection in their meat counter but I can walk in and they will cut a bone-in rib chop for me without delay. They do have a deli which I have not tried but it looks busy. They have a small grocery for the extras various condiments, rubs' and sauces. They also have Boar's head meats and cheese. Really a great place. read more

This place rules. The Bacon rules, Brauts (variety is great- try the gummy bear braut, it really is good). The steaks are great. If they don't have it behind the glass, they will cut it for you. Try the beef jerky. Oh, and it's local and they support the community. read more
