You definitely need to try this place out if you haven't already. This was the only place we bought our donuts when we lived in Allen. We were in town for an event and stopped by afterwards only to find the line snaking around the inside of the facility. It does move fast so don't worry about waiting there too long. I can't explain what makes these donuts stand out from the rest, but there's definitely a difference and they go QUICK at work. Stopped in this morning about 10am and most of the donuts were gone. I really like their cake donuts, but friendly service is lacking. I've been in 3 different times and haven't had a friendly counter person, except for the cashier. Doubt I'll be back. Quality donuts, but the service has been a turn off for me. I have a sweet tooth. It's a bit of a problem, and Max's isn't part of the solution. First, one of the best things about Max's Donuts is that they are huge. You're receiving easily 20-30% more with a Max's Donut. Secondly, these bad boys taste delicious. My personal favorite is their chocolate iced, though the plain glazed is also great. The chocolate iced, unlike some places, is both glazed and iced. This makes for one crazy good donut. I like to say that one isn't enough, but two puts you into a sugar coma. Very disappointed that the new owners changed the dough recipe. I don't know if they use less yeast or change the flour but it's not as good as it use to be. If it was for cost cutting I would have preferred they raised the prices and keep the dough the same. I no longer drive out of my way to go there but I do keep checking so see if they are listening to comments and change back. read more

Not a huge donut fan but my wife insisted that I try Max's as she grew up around the coroner from this place, when I first seen it it honestly didn't look like much, when I went inside and the smell hit me I thought man that smells good. I got a glazed donut and an apple fritter. The donut was very light and fluffy and was still warm by far the best donut I've ever had!! Normally I eat one donut and it makes me kinda sick but these were very light and I recon I could have eaten at least six! Lol then I tried the apple fritter, it wasn't as oily as a lot of places are it was kinda dry and also light with a good balance between the apple and cinimon, I will defo be back to this place again, I highly recommend!! read more
