My experience this time around was great! We went for one of their Valentine's special and the serving portions were amazing! Definitely worth it for the price and the service was great. The restaurant is super cute, very modern filipino style!

We had the pre valentine spl, fresh lumpia and rice. The crispy pata was not so crispy, bulalo was good very big serving but needed more veggies, the worst was the fresh lumpia it was served cold and when i asked the server said should be warm, she offered to replace but i said no since i already lost my appetite. The server was nice. The restaurant was clean aside from the bad smell from the restroom.

Very Filipino as you enter! The smell of fried chicken and everything fried and sour. There are two long tables with party of at least 15 people each. Every staff member is Filipino. You feel the Filipino hospitality. The price is a little pricier than typical turo turo Filipino restaurants . They do try to upsell everything - I ordered water and they indicated they have calamansi juice. I ordered the classic pork sisig and upsold the pork kawali sisig. They charge separate for rice! Service was left to be desired - they don't go around to check in on you, I had to call their attention for more water. Value - My meal came out to $24. Nothing special about their food. Not worth it, go to only at Renee's for better food.

I went to try Max for the first time I never had the palabok pancit before but I ordered it for take out only a few shrimps. It was ok not the best. It was my first time trying palabok pancit. I should have tried the one at some other fast food restaurant or local one before a chain. I went in to order and the guy was nice and helpful. I also ordered a shanghai lumpia but that was too soft not crispy at all. It was a 15 minute wait i think he said it was nice and clean inside at it just opened at 11am The sauce seem not that good in the pancit. I had utensils in my bad. It was still hot and fresh when got home. I may try to go again to get canton pancit next time not sure. The lechon i think was inside the palabok pancit so the flavor is good its not as sweet as some other place i got for catering and it was a bit sweet.

I ordered take out for Max's Restaurant and when I went inside it immediately smelled so aromatic I told my husband we have to go inside and try their food next time. I only wanted to try their halo halo for dessert since I had already eaten and wanted to compare it to Red Ribbon's and omg I think I found my new favorite place to eat halo halo! It was a bit more expensive at a whopping $10 but honestly the amount you get is so worth it! There were more fillings and it didn't get watered down as the ice melted which is usually the problem I have when I eat the one at red ribbon. I can't speak too much about the ambiance since I ordered to go but I will be returning to try more things :)

Went here on a Saturday evening. The interior was clean and well lit. I like the pancit canton and classic pork sisig. The whole Max's chicken was flavorful as usual. It was disappointing though because they ran out of rice. Our server Rose was nice but did not check on us afterwards. We wanted to ask for some things but we could not find her. Not sure if she clocked out since it was close to closing time but we were assisted by a different person when we asked for the check. Food was really good but running out of rice was unexpected. Service was a little off too. Overall, would still give this Max's Restaurant in VA Beach a 4/5.

Are you looking for some real Filipino dishes in the area here in beautiful Virginia Beach, Virginia? A place where you can enjoy some really good native , local food and delights. Well, if you are visiting like me, this is a very nice place to enjoy some fresh, good original Philippines grub. The place is in a nice location and I love the vibes. They will treat you like a family for real.

This place is amazing, even with how busy it was when we got there. Our server was amazing, totally forgot her name I'm sorry! Everyone was friendly. The food is so cheap and huge portions! We didn't realize the portions were huge so we had a ton of leftover. Everything tasted so delicious too. Would love to return when I'm back in the area!

The first Max's restaurant from the Philippines to open in the DMV area. The food was decently priced for the portions provided, the Crispy Pata for example was huge. The famous "Max's Fried Chicken" was also very good. The Pork BBQ Skwers also surprised me as to how good it was, it was longer than a regular BBQ stick and it came with 4. I also thought it was funny that they have a specific Togo box that fits the BBQ stick, so don't worry if you need to take it home. I ordered an assortment of food and all came out good and everything tasted great. I'm sure the past reviews here were from when they first opened so they were probably very busy. I came in on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not busy at all for dine-in. For the amount of food we ordered it all came out in less than 20 minutes so the wait was not bad at all. I can't say how it is on the weekends. The service was great as well as the servers were very friendly. The ambiance was nice as well as it wasn't too busy, the restaurant is very clean on the inside. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be coming back.

Had lunch here with a friend yesterday. It's worth keeping in mind that they basically serve "family style" portions. My friend ordered the kabobs and pancit bijou along with an order of lumpia. I had the fried milkfish and garlic rice. The food was mostly good (although I was treated to a large piece of plastic in the pancit which pretty much ended my meal). We were offered another order of pancit to make up for the issue which we declined. Service was slow at times but friendly. The restaurant was busy, cheerful and seemed clean. I suggested to the waitress that she inform the kitchen about the plastic in the future.

We went here to ight for dinner. We just ate like there's no tomorrow. Some were good, some were not. The server was not paying attention when we were twlling her our concerns because the sizzling crispy pork sisig should be sizzling and should be crispy. Both of them werw not present with what we ordered. It's a shame that she just worked there and don't care how we feel about the food. The pakbet was salty. Too much shrimp paste even though shrimp paste is banned in the US. The sago-gumalam was so sweet and no flavoring. We loved the fries chicken because it was tender and juicy. Daing na bangus was also good. Maybe bec we can't cook such at home. Halo-halo was great for $10.

What a great experience! The location was packed, with good reason! I have been to the original one in the Philippines and this location has held up the tradition.

Our second time to eat here and I want to see if we can duplicate or maybe make our experience much better. First, I want to say how clean and streamlined this place and well designed this place that's so pleasant to the eyes. The waitresses and waiters are so nice and charming with their Filipino uniforms. Now to the point, the food. Just look at the delightful pictures. It all look so good you will salivate. Every one of these pictures of food are memory triggers of the delicious memories I got as a kid eating these kind of food with the family. Yes, they taste so good! Love each of them. Definitely coming back. Oh, did I tell you about the halo halo and the Buko pandan? Heavenly.

Although I lived in Red Mill for over a decade, I was never able to visit the original location in that shopping center, so this was a first for us. We came in on a Friday night and easily parked in the attached garage (QR code ease for parking). Wow started with the chicken empanadas and boy, were they yummy. Soooo hot and fresh, you could tell they were made to order (it took a minute to get them). So worth the wait! We devoured them and the breading was heavenly. I chose the Chicken Pancit Bihon (rice noodles) for my entree and my husband went with the Sizzling Sisig (minced pork and onion). Both were hot and fresh but my husband's dish was to DIE for! Sooooo good, I am for sure going to order it next time. The seasoning was perfect, hot and delicious. Yum! We had plans to take our daughter out for dessert for her birthday or I would've absolutely been trying one of those Ube shakes... noms! Next time! Owners were walking around offering tasting of items and were checking in often to make sure all was going smoothly. He gave us a sample of the Calmansi Slushee and it was heaven! Soooo refreshing on a summer day, I can see stopping in during a bike ride to cool off with one of those babies. Beautiful patio outside with tons of covered seats and a pick-up window for easy pick-up right in front was nice. Love this location in Atlantic Park and what it brings to the oceanfront area... excited this new spot is here!
