I've been seeing Bryan Hoppe at Maxum for quite a while now, and I frequently refer to him as a wizard because what he does seems like magic! I have chronic pain, fatigue, and autoimmune diseases, and I started going to Maxum for TMJ. I no longer have issues with my jaw, and I've been treated for several other issues since (tendonitis, scoliosis, arthritis, pulled muscles, surgery recovery, chondromalacia). I was able to return to sports I thought I could never do again. Bryan is a compassionate and knowledgeable practitioner. He's an expert in his field and meets you where you're at. Modifications for your specific case will be offered, and you'll constantly have small wins that make you better. The care given at Maxum is unlike any physical therapy office I've ever been to. The staff genuinely care about the overall well being of patients, and they actively work with you to help you get well. They take a team approach, and I learned something from each individual I saw. They recognize how the body is interconnected, and work to help you heal systemically. Bryan Hoppe is the best PT I've ever had the privilege of working with. As an individual with complex and chronic pain, and a growing list of autoimmune diagnoses, seeing Bryan for myofascial release work helped stabilize me this year. You will NEVER find a better or comparable place for Physical Therapy. And I say this even as my family member works at another center for rehab/wellness/PT. I have been so blessed and thankful to have received a referral for Maxum for my PT needs from my PCP. And it was all covered thru my insurance with CalOptima! The entire team here is a little family and as I went thru my few months of therapy, I felt like a became a part of it. Today as I "graduated," I felt extremely sad and like a part of my life was changing. 2 times a week, I would look forward to going and seeing everyone. I worked mostly with Brendan, Daniel, Emma, and Brian. They are all extremely intelligent, caring, supportive, energetic, and patient with me, as I was late for numerous sessions, embarrassingly. Don't let me forget the WONDERFUL gals at the front, Jacky and Karen, who shared the same traits as the rest of the team. The facility itself is kept spotless, sanitized, and well-kept. They have lots of great equipment and something I really liked was that they don't "overbook." There were never more than about 4-5 patients in there at once, so it was never noisy, crowded, etc., which allows you to focus on your therapist and training. This place literally saved my life. Maddie was my speech language pathologist. I developed a massive polyp on my voice from covid. I work as a singer so this was a very scary thing to happen. Maddie was so extremely supportive, super cool and very compassionate about the voice, all of its muscles and how to heal. After an unusual neurological episode, I was left with a speech impairment that was going to need speech therapy intervention. After almost a year after the incident, I finally started sessions. All other clinics my insurance sent me to either had no space available or didn't treat adults. I finally was connected with Maxum and although I was put on a waiting list for a bit, they kept me updated and did all they could to get me seen as soon as possible. I started off with Aimee and then worked with Maddie. Both were very professional and knowledgeable. I felt cared for and a genuine concern for my case and to see me make progress(which I definitely made)!! I was a brand new patient here and my lyft driver canceled the ride so I was too late for my appointment by a minute, and they barred me as a patient and said I can no longer come here even though I've never even been seen. I hurt my shoulder in a car crash. I was lucky enough not to have any serious damage but I was still in pain. I went to two doctors and neither of them could help with the pain. I was told physical therapy would be my best option. I couldn't hold anything in my right hand without being in extreme pain. Well my treatment is almost complete and all that pain is gone. Not only am I physically pain free but I feel like I have a new spark. PT Bryan has guided me to regaining a power I never knew I had. LSVT-Big. I started out taking occupational therapy with Kim Kingsland. The reason was I have tremors related to possible Parkinson's or Parkinsonism. That went great. I learned how to do small things with my right hand and arm. Which is what is effected the most with tremors. Then I moved on to LSVT-Big. This is where Kim coached me on how to do things Big or exaggerated. I was shuffling my feet and sometimes dragging them. I was not swinging my arms when I would walk. I would write small and crooked and illegible. I had a hard time filling out forms. I had a hard time opening and closing doors. This included the refrigerator and getting something out of the refrigerator. It took me forever it seemed to comb my hair. Also sitting up straight and not leaning to the left a lot. This is all things I didn't realize I was doing. Now I am able to take big steps swing my arms. I also am able to write in between the lines and make it so people can read it. I also am able to open doors even though it is awkward. I can comb my hair in a much shorter time. I am able to sit up taller. I do my best to remember to have good posture while sitting and walking. I've never had to go to any sort of physical therapy before, but Maxum Therapy has made it a very pleasant experience. Kim is my occupational therapist for my wrist and I adore her. She is very smart and knowledgeable, which allows her to create unique treatment plans for her patients. She will share how each exercise is working to help heal your injury. She is very accepting of comments and questions. Overall, Kim Kingsland is an outstanding Occupational Therapist. After every exercise either Kim or another employee will thoroughly disinfect/clean all equipment, which I appreciate very much. My experience at maxum therapy started off great, I treated with them for 6 months for a MVA. 2 years later, I still dealing with debilitating pain, I was pleased when my doctor referred me back to them. I made my consultation again and was sent text messages the day before confirming my appointment. Day off appointment I missed my appointment. Upon trying to reschedule I was told I was dropped as a patient and no longer accepted at their facility. Now I do take responsibility that I did not show to my appointment but to have such a strict cancel policy is completely ridiculous. Patients are humans and simply just make mistakes. Maxum therapy failed me when I needed them the most! Now this review is to prevent this happening to anyone else who, like me, really needed to continue physical therapy. Jessica the scheduling manager stated this policy is sent out to all their patients and is included in the confirming text reminders. This is absolutely incorrect. I was never advised of this policy and I had been going to them for years. I looked back at the confirmation texts and not one word is noted about their cancellation policy. Jessica and her staff lack professional etiquette. Maxum therapy shame on you for failing for patients. I can see if I was absolutely new and no creditable history but this unfortunately is not my case. I had been a regular patient. Yes I did make a mistake by forgetting to cancel but after begging for an exception and desperately explaining my need for care you would think there would some kind of human decency! I guess you are not allowed to make mistakes here at Maxum! In hind sight, maybe this was a blessing. I hope no one has the same experience as I have had. read more

Very very happy with maXum therapy Kim Kingsland has really help me regain my strength on my right hand. I had surgery on to repair my tendons and nerves on my right pinky and ring finger. I love the front desk girls, always so sweet, kind and helpful with insurance questions and making my appointments. This facility is extremely clean and sanitized, much needed during this pandemic! The highlight of MaXum is the wonderful, MFR and Physical Therapist, Bryan Hoppe!! I met Bryan in 2014 when my Mom went in for physical therapy. She always spoke highly of him, but it wasn't until 2019 when I was his patient and realized that he is gifted for "whole body healing". Trust me, you can go to Bryan for any body pain (head, neck, abdominal, leg, etc) and he will magically make it go away. I drive from San Diego county just to see Bryan for my 'whole body healing'. YES, HE IS WORTH THE DRIVE! Bryan is very professional, kind, loving, caring AND empathetic, the perfect definition of a therapist! He will give his 110% every session and believe me, each session is different and leaves me calm and speechless. I had a terrible accident that left me with multiple left shoulder surgeries. (for a couple months, I was scared that my left arm would never work well again). My orthopedic surgeon fixed me up the best he could and was able to couple the "spaghetti" of muscles and tendons back together. He also did some metal work getting it all straightened out. He couldn't say how well my left arm would work in the future, but he was confident I'd get at least 75-85% of my movement back eventually if I worked hard. After surgery I was referred to Maxum Physical Therapy in Placentia. I was apprehensive at first as some physical therapy places in the past have left me wary. I'm glad this place is a winner. It was not easy though (healing never is). Week after week, month after month, I kept going and pushing through the pain (don't push too hard, but as they say: no pain no gain). Not just because the exercises and stretches I was doing was working (I was getting a tiny bit improved all the time), but because the atmosphere at the Maxum facility was so inviting. The people who work there are great, and keep a positive "can do" attitude. The place is spacious and kept very clean by the staff. They have all the equipment needed to help me in my recovery. Best of all, my personal physical therapists were very good people and knew their craft. They kept me coming back, even when I didn't feel like going. They made me feel like I was amongst friends. All of that contributed to my success. (A special Shout-Out to Lauren and Bryan)! Almost a year ago I had basically a "dead left arm" after surgery. After the first few weeks of PT, however, I could perform basic movements and wash it better. After a couple months, I could start holding and carrying stuff with it (bye bye sling!). After 6 months, most of my injury was healed, but I was still building some muscles back up, and had some issues with some rotation. Then covid-19 came and I had a 3 month break. I did not get discouraged. Over the phone via video, they helped me learn exercises I could do at home that kept me stretched out. When I could go back to the facility, I had 2 more months left of strengthening and got myself up to working out with good weights again. Now, after 11 months total, I am 95% healed (even with metal holding my shoulder together). I am much better than my Surgeon thought I'd do. I can carry my heavy work backpack, and lift things above my head. And it's all thanks to the awesome staff and facility of Maxum Physical Therapy. They really did a superb job with me under the circumstances. I am very thankful that I was sent to them, and I recommend them for anyone who is in need of physical therapy. read more

I am so grateful for the wonderful experience at maXum Therapy in Placentia, Ca (from July to September, 2019). I was there for my painful injury that was caused by the hurtful incident. My doctor prescribed me therapy for a severe injury to my thumb, hand, and wrist. At the time when I started treatment i had no movement at all. I couldn't even do the easiest most basic things. My OT Kim Kingsland has been a blessing, she is kind, knowledgeable and professional. She explained explained everything and made me feel at ease. Always very patient and makes me feel better about the whole situation. Shes constantly sharing her knowledge of food and cooking which helps during therapy and helps keep my mind off the pain. Shes helping me get my range of motion back in my thumb, hand , and wrist. I am currently still seeing Kim for therapy and I have alot more work to do on my injury. maXimum Therapy - Adults Clinic is a great place for my mom to get physical therapy and I'm grateful for that. My mother had a stroke during the covid pandemic, then the surgery was successful. We then searched for a place to do physical therapy for my mother which was very difficult during the pandemic. Fortunately, the doctor found maXimum Therapy - Adults Clinic and asked my family to take my mother there for physical therapy. When I got there, my first impression of this place is that it's a great place for my mom. Everyone here is very friendly and dedicated to their work. This place has all the equipment to help my mother with exercises, and the practice space is spacious. More specifically, I am very grateful to occupational therapist Kim Kingsland for helping my mother with really effective exercises to help her restore strength in the left side of her body. Besides, Kim Kingsland can speak fluently in both English and Vietnamese languages, so the conversation becomes easier. She is a dedicated and passionate person in her work. If any of you are having a hard time finding a place to do physical therapy then you can go to maXimum Therapy and find Kim Kingsland because she is a wonderful person, she helps patients with her best effort and always get good results.
