I've been coming here for years seeing Dr. Aklinski. She takes the time to listen and explains step by step your treatment. I prefer the activator overall and this is one of the few places to find it. In addition to chiropractic care, massage therapy is available. They take a variety of insurance and my particular co-pay is only $15! It is well worth it and after getting straightened out, I only have to follow up for a tune up every 6 weeks. This clinic books clients back to back with no time in between. Clinicians run late but if you are 5 minutes late, they cancel you. Worse, the front desk is always chatting or on the phone, making it difficult to even check in for your appointment (vital if they will cancel you in 5 minutes). There are many chiropractors and massage clinics in Seattle. Do yourself a favor and find one that values your business and your health. As soon as you enter, you're greeted with a warm and inviting smile. It's like coming home to family. The staff actually cares and wants you to get better.. whether than means recommending lifestyle changes, herbal remedies, or PT, they'll give great advice. I love trying the different massage therapists... one to fit every mood. Dr. Aklinski is extremely intuitive and sweet. She's knowledgable.. gentle but effective. My massage is always personalized to me and when I get adjustments they always take the time to make sure they understand how I feel before. Thanks to Groupon, I was introduced to this friendly neighborhood gem. The receptionist, Lacy, greeted me warmly and asked me to fill out some paperwork before my 60 minute massage. I had recently pulled a muscle in my shoulder and needed to relieve some sore muscles. This massage was different than the ones I am use to. The massage practitioner was obviously very familiar with all the muscles in the body and told me what type of tensions I had, gave me advice on how to loosen up those muscles, and she easily found all the knots in my back. I felt much more relaxed afterwards. I will definitely go back! read more

Like others below, stay away from this place! They're terrible -- in every way. They're just here to make money, give you 45/50 minute massages instead of the 60 minute you paid for, cancel with no warning, and are only here to take your money -- they could care less about the people they're supposed to be treating. The below are just a few more examples. Note: I never write yelp reviewers. I'm so disgusted about this place that I felt compelled to share with others. On multiple occasions, I have gone there for my appointment (and taken time off of work) only to find out while already at their office that the therapist had to cancel -- and they gave me no notice! This happened AT LEAST 3 times. I liked the therapist as a person, so I kept giving extra chances. And then one time, because of confusion over an appointment, I missed an appointment. They asked me to pay the cancellation fee and I politely said, "Oh no, I won't be paying that. You all have canceled on me multiple times and with no warning." Immediately after this, I received emails and a letter from the owner, Lauren, that they were no longer going to treat me because there was no longer a "clinical need." I was disgusted. This means that they suddenly determined no clinical need because I wouldn't pay a cancellation fee (which would have been ridiculous for me to pay!). The irony here is that they did this during a period when I had the most intense neck/back pain, so it felt especially disgusting and cruel because I was suddenly stuck without any way to help my pain. These people are just in it to make money and don't care at all about their patients! And they are setting themselves for immediate lawsuits by making these random and false medical determinations that there is no clinical need when the only change was that your patient refused to pay an unfair fee and your patient is going through intense neck/back pain! (Also, please note this letter came from the owner herself, Lauren Aklinski, whom never treated me nor did she even call to understand what was going on. So I'm left perplexed as to what evidence they used to determine there was "no clinical need."). Here are some more reasons how this placed is just trying to scam people out of money. Their "one hour" massage are at MOST 50 mins. The massage therapist will come get you five minutes late, then do some chit chat (that you're trying to avoid), and then the massage therapist will always stop 5 minutes early too. I almost always got a 45 minute massage instead of 60 minutes -- and I never got more than 50 minutes. (This place was close to my office and my insurance paid for it, so I put up with this madness). Again, this place is so terrible -- please do not give them your money to send a message that they can't treat people this way! And Lauren, the way you're running your business is incredibly reckless. A free tip, find out what's going on before you send letters like this -- unless you're trying to get sued too. read more

The chiropractic services are good. But massage is a different story. Just had a massage recently. Apparently, it was shorter than promised 1 hour, it finished 10 minutes earlier and they claim that they do not have extra time in between the patients to allow time to be undressed / dressed. They even do not have any other pricing for prescribed massage therapy, so you are stuck to pay for 1 hour procedure. What a waste of money! read more

Through a family member, I made an appointment with Maxwell Chiropractic. When I went in for my appointment, a very friendly lady greeted me with a smile. I completed the necessary paper work and waited only a short time when Dr. Aklinski came out. She greeted me with a smile and escorted me to the treatment room. The doctor spoke with me for a short time then began to ask questions regarding the type of trouble I was having. Surprisingly, she actually listened, as many practitioners do not listen or look at you. Dr. Aklinski responded knowledgably asking others questions. She described each treatment before continuing. During each phase of her treating me, Dr. Aklinski kept me informed of what she was doing and when finished, gave me exercises to perform at home. The Maxwell Clinic is excellent and very professional. The facilities are wonderful and very modern. I would have no problems recommending the Maxwell Chiropractic clinic to anyone. read more
