Honestly there are better places for middle eastern food in the cities. The food itself was pretty good and it reheated really well, portion sizes were HUGE! But it all kind of tasted the same, so I was disappointed that there wasn't more variety in flavor. I was also a little disappointed by their gluten free options, and definitely still had a gluten reaction only eating the things labeled gf. Luckily I have an intolerance, and not celiac, but celiac folx I would say it may be best to avoid this place. It took 45 minutes for our food to come out, which was also rather disappointing. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The art they have up in the space is really lovely! But overall I don't think I'd return to this place. read more

We placed a large order for takeout here after checking in at a local resort. We were looking forward to a great meal after a long day of driving. But when we got to the restaurant, we were told they canceled our order without any notice. The staff should have called us instead of waiting for us to arrive at the restaurant. This is very disappointing and discourteous service. After we left, we saw that the app updated our order with a note from the restaurant saying that they were closed even though their posted Yelp and Google listings both indicate open until 1AM. We were trying to go to Sphynx, but it seems like they are either not open or have combined with Maxwell. I ordered the Lamb Gyro. This was a standard late-night gyro. The pita is not homemade and hot-fresh, but it's still chewy and soft. The gyro meat was salty and greasy and chewy. The tzatziki balanced out the greasiness of the lamb. All around this is not a bad spot to stop for late night and satisfy your fourth meal cravings. It's not exceptional, but it's fine. read more

I used to live next door and would get their gyros on a weekly basis. I would definitely recommend the gyros with seasoned fries! So much flavor with veggies and tzatziki sauce. And their wings are great as well. I've only dined in twice but ordered multiple times by phone. Food is promised within 10 minutes by phone. Always on time by the time I come to pick it up. Out of the 30 times I ordered by phone though, there was one time where I called by phone, was promised my food would be ready in 10 minutes, but when I got there and ON TIME... The middle aged man running cashier didn't run my order because he "wasn't sure I was going to come." How can you provide great service of you can't trust your customers? He then proceeded to tease me with food that wasn't mine... Very rude. Otherwise I don't think he's there that often. I'll preface my review stating that I have never eaten in the restaurant, but have ordered delivery through DoorDash many times. The Shawarma is some of the most addicting in the city, seriously I've had it both drunk and stone cold sober and even when I'm finished I want more (albeit, I'm full as the portions are generous!). Never eating here again. I ordered a veggie sandwich with fries, it cost me about $9. The menu reads that the veggie sandwich is made with a "homemade veggie patty". The sandwich did not have a patty and it literally had two fries inside with lettuce/tomato. If they were out of veggie patties that would have been okay and I would have ordered something else, but the guy didn't even tell me about the crap he was giving me. I read the bad reviews before ordering and saw that most of them were about the customer service, rather than the food. Since I was ordering through Bitesquad, I figured that wouldn't be an issue. I was wrong. They didn't send one of the items and told the delivery driver they had cancelled it. They didn't call me about a substitution, nor did they tell the delivery service (just the driver) so I still got charged the full amount and had to contact Bitesquad to get refunded (Bitesquad handled it very well). With that being said, he did a great job of keeping up with a number of orders and convenience store customers at the same time. This is hands down the best hookah in town. The service is superb and the hosts are wonderful. We had the best philly beef steak is to die for and the hot pastrami and Swiss is excellent. They even bought us some hot tea for free and kept asking if everything was ok. The hookah itself was awesome and tasted great and they kept refilling the coal. Dry as a bone and way too chunky. Lacked any sort of flavor other than spicy with the chili oil. I went to Maxwell's on a Sunday afternoon and the doors were locked (the hours are from 11:00am-1:00am.) The man sitting in a chair outside of the grocery next door had to run down and help us get inside. The clerk definitely overcharged me and the gyro honestly was not that good. It was a friendly and great place to eat at when Sunny owned it. Since the new owner and management, the food quality has dropped and service is extremely bad. I am not just a one time goer....I have been here a lot and the past few times it simply annoyed me. I promised myself not to ever walk in this place. I ordered one thing and the guy tells me they don't have it after I paid. I changed my order and after 10 minutes he comes and tells me they don't have that ether.
