I have been to this salon twice now for a shellac manicure. My service has been top notch both times. For Halloween I asked for a themed color combo and boy did she deliver! I get compliments on my nails often! The neck and shoulder massage here is by far the best I have ever received from any salon. I like that this place is a classic salon. Love this place. I had the best pedicure ever (and I have had some super fancy spa appointments in the past) and it was for a reasonable $28 + tip. The women are very nice and professional, the salon is really clean, and the service is fantastic. They are meticulous and really take the time to get you relaxed. I bought a Bloomspot deal and called to scheduled an appointment. The lady who answered the phone did not have a good grasp of English and had to pass me on to another lady. Appointment was made but no contact information was requested of me. I arrived on time, and had to wait almost half an hour for my appointment. When I arrived to check in, another customer was paying for her manicure and the esthician was fixing her manicure at the register. When it was ready for my wax, I was not comfortable with disrobing in front of others and had expected the esthician to leave the room! The results of the wax were fine, and I guess at half price, I shouldn't be complaining. But I would expect the behavior to be more professional at an establishment at Eastlake. read more

May Salon is still such a gem. I've continued to go here for facial waxing (brow and lip) and always love the results. They do a great job and the products they use never give me any reactions afterwards like most waxing places. Perfect customer service! Came here for a gel shellac manicure and was surprised to also receive a neck/back massage =) They definitely take their time and take care of their customers. The only thing I noticed is they could have went 2 millimeters closer to my cuticles, but no biggie because it's painted on pretty perfectly! I have been a loyal customer for 6+ years. When I moved from the neighborhood I didn't even consider finding a new salon and I now drive the 30 min to stick with my trusted one. Most of the staff stayed the same in all these years. I like the hygiene standards and the friendly environment. They have witnessed the growth of my daughter - ( I tagged her along many times not for service but for waiting for mommy) - and she was always welcome in the salon. They don't stand behind their work. Shellac mani lasted 5 days until three nails chipped (regular stylist Chim Was on vacation so I saw another one ). Owner of business argued with me and said 3 day only guarantee! I didn't have time to call her until 9 days passed as I was on business travel. not 3 weeks!, I called and asked for a discount as I was a loyal customer and she said no way would they offer a discount on a future mani. Ive been a loyal customer for 4 years now and have spent hundreds of dollars at your salon.I will never return. Future customers: Chin is the only decent stylist there if you do go. She does a meticulous a manicure and pedicure with a very firm Massage not some light rubbing on the legs which is extremely annoying. Even though her English is not good she still understands gestures and is willing to make the customer happy. Your response to me is disingenuous! I called sooner than that and you are aware of that. I also told you I was traveling and could not get in sooner to have you fix it.I had bad service from you. And you are lying. Very have bad biz practice on your part as I liked your Salon. Maybe this is coming from the owner Who is never there! I asked for a discount only. Not a free manicure. No reputable salon does gel manicures that don't last two weeks. Start Giving better Service and You will grow your business through referrals , but I can never refer your business now. Your salon is vacant a lot many times and I think if you stand behind your service you will have a busier shop. In the past I have brought many friends to your salon and they have had subpar pedicures but I have continued to go to your salon. Two of your stylist have cut in to the cuticles of my friends and they started to bleed. Thinking it was a one time occurrence I continued to go to your salon because I am very loyal. Suggestion: train your artists to do a manicure and pedicure like your employee Chin does. She is thorough and does not rush through the service like many of your artists. The gel manicure that she performed lasted three weeks. One week longer than most. It was my expectation for your other artists to apply a gel manicure that would last at least two weeks and they did not even perform that...and when I let you know about it you started an argument with me over the phone. Very unprofessional. That is not good customer service. Learn from Nordstrom. The customer is always right. Shame on you. Suggestion: hold some training seminars for your employees and show them the way that Chin performs her services. Even though I have been given poor service I always tip your artists and expect good customer service in return. Last tip: why don't you go out to other salons and do some competitive research and you can see what other salons provide their customers for the same price and much better service. There are many salons in Kirkland that offer 15 min head and shoulder massage with excellent maicure without a cello manicure chipping off after a few days. Getting this type of service done is a treat and you should realize that people come into your salon to be treated well and that it's not a service they will do every single week because it is very expensive so therefore they want it done well read more

They did a fantastic job with my gel nails, in fact I picked the one gel color and didn't like the result and ended up picking another color, the lady that did my nail rushed me a little bit through the color picking process but overall it was a good experience. They only use OPI and CND colors which is great! They also did a great job taking my original gel nail polish off. Very nice place! read more

I found this place here on yelp I came to Seattle for a short trip to visit a very good friend for her birthday and we wanted to get a mani that was reasonably priced with a good job. They seated us right away and gave us bottled water. She did a great job for $14 and it included a shoulder rub while our hands were wrapped in hot towels. A plus is that it doesn't smell like harsh chemicals since they only do manicures and pedicures. Will defiantly go back whenever I am in Seattle. read more

Wow! I moved to Seattle 5 years ago and have been looking for a great nail salon (with mostly disappointing experiences) ever since. The search is over! My husband and I went today for pedicures and we're both blown away by the attention to detail and wonderful massages by each of our technicians. Yes, the decor is purple, purple and more purple, but as Prince fans, we felt right at home. We were so pleased, that we must have stopped a dozen times to admire each other's feet on our walk home. Pretty mixed reviews, but I thought it was worth trying out on a groupon. First of all, it is a cold uninviting space. I didn't mind the purple, but most of the floorspace is barren tile floor and the appointment desk is faced with plywood-- unpainted construction-grade ply. There was no hello greeting. Instead she repeatedly said "Number?" It took a while to get that she wanted the groupon cert# although I had not mentioned that I was using one. The pedicure was OK, no issues, but the manicure, done by a different person was terrible, worst in 40 years. She stood to my left to do both nails which was physically uncomfortable for me (the wall was on my right). Her body blocked the light. She cut my nails with a cuticle scissor then used an almost bare emery board on them. They were as misshapen as they could be. I tried to communicate to her how uneven they were- I was ready to file them myself- I finally gave up after the third try. My cuticles were very ragged when she "finished". I had no intention of walking barefoot across the floor and sitting in the drying area as I had seen the four women before me do so. I asked several times for something to put on my feet. I am accustomed to receiving paper or spongy flip flops. She eyed her ?boss? then opened a drawer and took out a pair . I definitely will not be back. Decide for yourself whether you wood. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the service here. I used a groupon to try this place. Christine did an excellent manicure job and I love that she has strong hands and actually knows how to push cuticles. The only manicurist I've met in Seattle who knows the importance of it. I felt that the staff here were genuinely nice and not the phony way you see everywhere else. The regular price for a paraffin manicure and pedicure is $62 and it's a little more than I normally would spend but it will be worth the money. I am going back here and I'll ask for Christine. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the pedicurist's massage was very very weak and parking sucks here. Other than that, I thought this place is great. read more

Their shellac manicure is quite possibly the best I've ever had. In a month, my nails have grown out but only one nail chipped. We had to wait quite a while for service even after we were seated at our stations, but it was worth the wait. A little more expensive than other places, but also worth every cent. read more

While waiting for my boyfriend, who had an appointment nearby, I decided to see if I could get my nails done. This was the closest place and, wow! This is the best $14 I've ever spent. I was surprised by the bottle of water and neck warmer, then when I got the shoulder massage I thought, "Hmm. Maybe I should have checked the prices first." All of that plus a fabulous manicure, what a fantastic deal. I forgot to ask my manicurist's name, but she was meticulous and gentle with my cuticles, which let's face it is the main reason for paying someone to do your nails. Loved this place. I live in W.
