I really want to add the photo of my teenager in this store, but I'm kind so I won't. On Sunday his sister broke his glasses. They were Zenni and he needed an exam. I forgot to call in time on Monday but did on Tuesday. They offered me a cancellation time the next day and took our VSP info over the phone to get that placed. The attendant guided me to which patient forms were needed and I got that covered. We arrived five minutes early and waited while the receptionist assisted the person in front of us. When it was our turn she stood up, said we'll be right with you and was off. I didn't have time to sigh as she really was back within seconds and efficiently took our information. He waited a brief minute or two before he was in the office. As for the waiting room, it was comfortable. There were cushy chairs, a Kuerig set up with quite a few selections I didn't choose from. Down the aisle was a cute play area for kids. I settled in to read an ebook while I waited, in ear shot of the receptionist's desk. The staff was completely professional. When they weren't with a patient they had a couple brief conversations. About their favorite pen that went missing and a trip to another state. I spend far too much time in waiting rooms at appointments and have hear too many "non-professional" conversations. We browsed through a multitude of frames while his eyes were dialating. He tried on some interesting styles, but most frames were brand name. Prices varied between $150-350 range, so shop with insurance here. We ordered his that night and with a two year warranty I deemed it worthy of a few extra dollars for the frame he liked. They estimated a week before coming in, but they were done the next day. Less than 12 hours later. The doctor was very kind, as was the staff. I'm very impressed and will gladly go back. read more

I went to the May Vision Center in the summer of 2017. Because I needed trifocal lens and was unsure about the outcome, I allowed them to prepare the glasses for me. Including the examine and several missteps on their part, it took SIX trips from my home in Merrimac before I finally get my glasses. I have very good vision insurance, but after my insurance, the glasses cost me over $500. Out of pocket. Not a small some. Within a year, the frame broke. That had never happened before in the (50) years that I have been wearing glasses. When I inquired about getting a two year guarantee for the replacement frames, I was told that no, only the original warrantee was in place. Well, in a recent visit, concerning a continued problem with the nose pads falling off, I mentioned that a corner of one of the lenses was clouding up. The "technician" said that the lenses were delaminating. This after 2 1/2 years of use. I was told that since the lens was outside the two year warranty, they would not replace it. Imagine, after only two years, the provider would not stand behind them. Especially after the small fortune that I paid for those glasses. We all know that Costco would have made those glasses for roughly 1/3 the cost. I won't make that mistake again!! read more

May Vision is the ONLY eye doctor I will go to. I have been going here for probably over 6 years now. The staff is super friendly, and always helps figure out what my insurance covers. And Dr. May is amazing! He always makes you feel like you are his only patient and never makes you feel rushed. Even when we have an emergency, they get us right in and make sure we are ok. I highly recommend them to anyone. read more

In regards to my previous review, it turns out there was a mistake with my billing. Someone from the office called me to explain the miscommunication and correct the error in the billing. As it turns out, we ended up paying what I expected to be charged. read more

I am saddened to have to write a less than favorable review. My family and I have visited Dr. May for the last two years and have felt the exam part of the visit to be very well executed. Where I feel the practice has room for improvement to better meet customer expectations and provide a stellar experience are: do not cancel an appointment that has been scheduled by your staff due to no reply to an automated text 8 days in advance, do not force a contact fitting without consent and charge a fee for the privilege, do not create billing challenges by not understanding coverage first and seemingly only pursuing your own opportunity for revenue. read more

I originally posted a review about some recent negative experiences that I had at May Vision. I then decided to address them directly with the owner, who I felt really took the time to listen to my concerns, and made me feel like a valued customer. I've since also received a very sincere apology, which I appreciated. It can be difficult for a business to hear negative feedback but it was well received, and I feel good about my family being able to continue receiving our optical care here. I was not impressed with May vision. I went in for a check up and was told that I needed a new prescription for glasses. The glasses from May vision made my vision more blurry than a previous prescription. My eyes were re-rested by May vision and it was found that my prescription was incorrect and that my previous prescription was more accurate. I probably wouldn't have ordered new glasses if my prescription had not changed. I was told that I couldn't get my money back, but that they would fix the prescription. The new glasses were still were more blurry than my old glasses. I decided to get a second opinion. A different doctor tested my eyes and determined that I needed a different prescription. The doctor showed me his prescription which was totally clear and then showed me the prescription from May vision which was blurry. I am still waiting to find out if my money will be refunded. I have spent a lot of time at May vision and still am waiting to figure out what to do. read more

I have been to May vision center a few times first was for an exam second to get my pupillary measurement for glasses. The first time I went for an exam they took my insurance card on file I was asked three separate times if I was insured. By the end of my visit I was charged $211 for an exam that should have been free (covered) I did my research, called back and asked them to re check my policy and they told me that I had never presented insurance and was charged in full. After researching further they discovered my insurance on file... that's fine human mistake. I later went in for measurements prior to walking in I asked how much it would be I was quoted $50. The measurement took literally 30 seconds (not an exaggeration) I asked a few questions that were answered with literal nods and head shakes. She handed me my and walked away without a word so I asked if I was supposed to check out, and she said "i don't know", so I walked to the front desk and after some sort of digging was charged $75 for a 30 second bullshit exam with terrible service. Won't ever go back, doctor May was also very impersonal, front desk ladies were awesome everyone else needs a fucking Xanax and a nap. read more
